2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X is the first to top $200,000

USA Today3 days ago
General Motors' ZR1X isn't just the world's most powerful Corvette — it's also the first priced above $200,000.
The Detroit automaker revealed pricing for the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X, the sister to the ZR1, earlier last week, and it's the most expensive production Corvette.
The 1,250-horsepower vehicle sets a record for the automaker thanks to a dual powertrain system. The back wheels are powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.5 L V8 engine that generates 828 pound-feet of torque while a 145 pound-foot battery sends power to the front axle electric motor.
The 2026 Corvette ZR1X coupe starts at $207,395 for the 1LZ coupe and $217,395 for the 1LZ convertible, with both prices inclusive of a $1,995 delivery charge.
The cost leapfrogs the previous most-expensive Corvette, the 2025 ZR1, which started at $174,995, itself a steep jump from the 2019 Corvette ZR1, which started at $121,000.
The ZR1X will be available by the end of 2025 after assembly at Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky.

Ford Motor Company (F): 'People Want To See Earnings' Not Announcements, Says Jim Cramer

We recently published . Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) is one of the stocks Jim Cramer recently discussed. Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F)'s shares have gained 18.6% year-to-date to significantly outpace the gains of its peer and rival, General Motors. The firm has benefited from investor attention due to its manufacturing base in the US, while General Motors has suffered due to its reliance on the Mexican supply chain. Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) recently announced that it would invest $2 billion in the US and launch new EVs. However, the shares are up by a measly 2.7% since then. Cramer commented on why Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F)'s shares didn't rise: 'People want to see earnings. That's the [inaudible] they want to see earnings, they want to see a decline in warranties and that would matter. Here are his previous thoughts about Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F): 'And yet Ford stock is going from 10 to 11 in a quarter. What that says to me is that what we're reading is not right. That stock does not easily go up. A 10% move in that stock is like, that's glacial. . .I just think that Ford's going to get a break here. laurel-and-michael-evans-c-KDq7nxVdQ-unsplash 'I just think that Ford has the most made in America. Of these manufacturers. So that's why I think that Ford's up actually. Somehow I think they feel that they could get some relief. Because they are the largest makers of autos in this country. So why are they the most hurt? It is a little counterintuitive. And I think that their case will not be special pleading. I think it will be something the President will endorse. Not that, I wasn't in the White House, but I think Jim Farley has a very good case that he should not have to bear the brunt because he makes the most in this country.' Futuristic Chevrolet Corvette concept cars signal the brand's future

General Motors revealed two concept cars Aug. 15: the Chevrolet Corvette CX and the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo. Fighter jets and video games served as inspiration for the designs the company called "aggressively futuristic." The reveals took place at The Quail, a vehicle event in Carmel, California. The CX, an all-electric vehicle, and the CX.R, a hybrid, represent the latest and last of several Corvette concepts GM rolled out this year. Multiple GM studios were tasked with drafting Corvette-inspired hypercars. The first came out of GM's UK studio in March and the second was revealed last month, from GM's Pasadena, California, studio. Both concepts were electric. GM's design network spans studios in Michigan, Southern California, China, South Korea and the United Kingdom. Switch Auto Insurance and Save Today! There are no stated production plans for either concept. They 'will influence where we go forward,' Phil Zak, executive design director at Chevrolet, said in a call to media. He added that prior to the design experiment this year, Corvette hadn't produced a concept since 2009. The front of the CX swings up and forward similar to tipping a fedora hat. In lieu of doors, a driver must vault over the side to enter the vehicle. The electric all-wheel-drive supercar has four motors, one for each wheel, generating more than 2,000 horsepower. Designers opted to mount the 90-kWh lithium-ion battery in the chassis for a low center of gravity and ideal front-rear weight distribution. The CX.R is slated to be featured in the latest installment of the long-running racing game Gran Turismo 7 later this month. The hybrid has a midmounted 2.0-liter, dual-overhead-cam, twin-turbo V8 engine, making up to 900 horsepower and an engine speed of 15,000 rpm. The V8 drives the rear wheels while three electric motors – one for each front wheel, plus a third in the 8-speed gearbox – bring a system output of 2,000 hp, the company said.
