Ranked light heavyweights will collide on May 17.
At a UFC Fight Night event, Johnny Walker and Azamat Murzakanov will square off in a three-round battle. Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
The event has been publicly rumored by some fighters and their management groups to be slated for Qatar, though the promotion has yet to announce the card or its location.
Walker (21-9 MMA, 7-6 UFC) aims to snap a two-fight skid that consists of knockout losses to current UFC light heavyweight champion Magomed Ankalaev and perennial contender Volkan Oezdemir.
Murzakanov (14-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) returns from a six-month drug test suspension that knocked him out of a UFC 309 showdown vs. Nikita Krylov in November. UFC antidoping program CSAD determined the positive drug test was due to a dietary supplement that did not have the banned substance listed on the label. Murzakanov enters the bout with UFC wins over Tafon Nchukwi, Devin Clark, Dustin Jacoby, and Alonzo Menifield.
With the addition, the UFC Fight Night lineup for May 17 includes:

UFC returns to Vancouver with Oct. 18 Fight Night show at Rogers Arena

VANCOUVER - The UFC is returning to Vancouver for an Oct. 18 Fight Night show at Rogers Arena. It will mark Vancouver's seventh UFC event since 2010, tying Toronto for the second-most UFC events in Canada (behind Montreal). The UFC's most recent visit to the city was UFC 289 in June 2023, drawing 17,628 fans and a $5.14-million live gate. The mixed martial arts promotion has held 35 shows across 11 cities in Canada, debuting with UFC 83 in Montreal in 2008. In other Canadian UFC news, flyweight Jamey-Lyn Horth of Squamish, B.C., has a new opponent in American Vanessa (Lil Monster) Demopoulos, replacing Czechia's Tereza Bledá, on the UFC's June 14 Fight Night card in Atlanta. Horth (7-2-0) is coming off a December loss to American Miranda (Fear The) Maverick, who is ranked 11th among 125-pound contenders. Horth is 2-2-0 in the UFC. Demopoulos (11-7-0) is 5-4-0 in the UFC but has lost her last two outings. —- This report by The Canadian Press was first published June 9, 2025 Error! 5 undrafted free agents with best chances to make Broncos' 53-man roster

5 undrafted free agents with best chances to make Broncos' 53-man roster The Denver Broncos have a great history of undrafted free agents making the 53-man roster, with at least one UDFA earning a spot on the active roster in 21 of the last 22 seasons. So, who has the best chance this year? Follow the money. Money is obviously not the only factor -- players still have to perform during training camp and preseason to make the squad -- but it does give a hint at how the team ranks their top UDFA additions. The team's five highest-paid UDFAs this year probably have the best odds of making the 53-man roster. Missouri pass rusher Johnny Walker received the highest signing bonus ($20,000, tied) and the most guaranteed money ($254,000) among the team's UDFA signings this spring, according to KUSA-TV's Mike Klis. Denver is deep at outside linebacker, but Walker (6-3, 250 pounds) could be a sleeper after totaling 9.5 sacks last fall. Utah linebacker Karene Reid got a $15,000 signing bonus and $249,000 guaranteed (second most). Reid (6-0, 226 pounds) faces long odds to make the active roster, but the Broncos are not especially deep at inside linebacker, so he'll get an opportunity to impress. Jacksonville State guard/center Clay Webb received $15,000 as a bonus and $225,000 guaranteed (third most). A lingering lawsuit against Webb from high school has been dismissed, and some pundits had Webb (6-3, 312 pounds) projected as a late-round pick. He could be a top candidate for a backup job on the offensive line. Georgia guard/tackle Xavier Truss got a $20,000 signing bonus (tied for the most) and $170,000 guaranteed (fourth-most). Truss (6-7, 320 pounds) is a massive prospect who was a starter for the Bulldogs' College Football Playoff National Championship win in 2022. Kansas linebacker JB Brown received a $10,000 signing bonus and $160,000 guaranteed (fifth-most). Like Reid, Brown (6-2, 230 pounds) will get a chance to win a spot at a position that is not particularly deep. Broncos' 5 UDFAs with best chance to make 53-man roster OLB Johnny Walker ILB Karene Reid OL Clay Webb OL Xavier Truss ILB JB Brown After training camp and preseason, the Broncos will trim the 91-man offseason roster down to 53 players in August, then they will build a 16- or 17-player practice squad. Any UDFAs listed above who do not end up on the active roster would presumably be top candidates for the team's practice squad. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.
