Their version of Coldplay song The Scientist has an astounding 2.5million views on TikTok.
Italian performer Luke — who has 2.1million followers on TikTok and 1.88million subscribers on YouTube — invites people to sing with him in the English capital.
Mathilde told The Irish Sun: 'I knew Luke has millions of people watching his videos on YouTube and TikTok but I never thought I would be in one.
'That was until I went on a trip to London with my mum a few weeks ago.
'I heard music coming from Leicester Square and realised it was Luke performing one of his famous videos.
'I really wanted to talk to Luke about us duetting together. But I was nervous about asking him as he is such a big inspiration. However, my mum then told Luke that I was a great singer.'
Although the DJ and vocalist had finished for the day, he asked Mathilde for her Instagram account, @mathildemullinsmusic, and promised to be in touch.
She said: 'The next day I got a message from Luke saying, 'Hey Mathilde, I'm in Leicester Square today and will be singing around 3pm, will you make it?'
'I was like 'oh my god', Luke Silva just replied and he wants me to sing with him!'
'I was so excited replying back to him, saying 'Yes, I'll be there'. Luke then sent me this list of songs and asked me to pick three.'
DREAM COME TRUE
That afternoon Mathilde found herself side by side with Luke introducing herself to onlookers in the famous square featuring London's biggest movie screens.
She said: 'Hi I'm Mathilde Mullins, I'm 16 years old and from Dublin' — before the pair of them launched into the famous Coldplay song The Scientist.
Before long a huge crowd had gathered to watch the pair, drawn in by their enchanting singing.
Mathilde said: 'It was like a dream come true.
'I could feel all the love around me from people watching and so many people coming up after complimenting me. One of them told me they found all the emotion in my voice very, very touching.'
However, the vocalist had no idea that more plaudits were to come her way when Luke posted the edited video of them singing together, first on his YouTube channel and then on his massive TikTok account.
So far the Coldplay cover has attracted a staggering 2.5million views on TikTok, boosting Mathilde's own TikTok account from a few hundred followers to nearly 6,000.
Luke was wowed by the range of Mathilde's voice as along with the Coldplay cover she performed two other songs, Stay by Rihanna and All I Want by Kodaline.
And asked about the reaction since, Mathilde said: 'A lot of people are comparing my voice to Dolores O'Riordan.
They asked me would I cover Zombie by The Cranberries, so I posted that and we've had 31,000 views on TikTok.
'I can't wait to see what the future holds. Busking in London has changed my life forever.
'After we performed that day in Leicester Square, I remember Luke said to me, 'Wow Mathilde what a voice and a great range you have. Keep going, I know you'll go far and you are only 16.'"
He also said, 'Never give up, you've got talent and your journey has just begun.'"
And she's found similar success to Irish sensation Allie Sherlock, who also went viral on social media.
Allie's success even led to one of her videos being shared by pop sensation Justin Bieber.
The then 14-year-old student amassed a hug following since she started her singing career, garnering over two million subscribers on YouTube and over one million followers on Instagram.
And now, Allie is performing at some of Ireland's most popular music festivals, including Kaleidoscope.
She joined headliners including Texas, The Coronas and Ocean Colour Scene.
Ireland's largest family-friendly music event, took place across from July 4-6 at Russborough House in Wicklow.
And after her big performance, she shared a video on social media, saying: "One of my biggest performance ever Kaleidoscope."

Conor McGregor plays football at Napoli's stadium before being swarmed by fans
Conor McGregor enjoyed a kickabout at Napoli's iconic on Saturday in his bare feet. The MMA fighter is currently holidaying in Naples with his family. Footage shared on social media shows a topless McGregor kicking a ball on the pitch at the home of the Serie A champions. He was later swarmed by a large group of people as he made his way to his luxury yacht in the Italian city. The former two-weight UFC champion is seemingly preparing for his Octagon return and trained at a gym in Naples during the week wearing a Napoli jersey. He is hoping to fight at the UFC's White House on July 4 next year. UFC President Dana White revealed he plans to meet US President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka at the end of August to finalise the arrangements for the event. Next summer's show will be the first time a UFC fight card will be held at the White House. "It is definitely going to happen," White, a big supporter of the US president, told CBS television. "I talked to him last night -- 'him' being the president -- and I'm flying out there at the end of this month, and I'm going to sit down and walk him through all the plans and the renderings, and we're going to start deciding what he wants and doesn't want." The UFC boss added: "When he called me and asked me to do it, he said: 'I want Ivanka in the middle of this.' So Ivanka reached out to me, and her and I started talking about the possibilities, where it would be and, you know, I put together all the renderings." White isn't ruling out the possibility of McGregor returning, but he wants to see real commitment from the Dubliner. "I mean, if you see, he's been posting videos of himself training, he's back in the pool now, he wants the White House fight," White told Pardon My Take. "Listen, if he starts getting in shape and starts training and stays the course, that's the fight he wants, he keeps telling me he wants that fight so we'll see how it plays out over the next few months."

Celebs are making us wince in their eyewatering ‘wedgeshe' to be on trend – please just keep your privates PRIVATE
The exposing trend is taking over celebrity wardrobes and catwalk PELVIC-SORE Celebs are making us wince in their eyewatering 'wedgeshe' to be on trend – please just keep your privates PRIVATE FORGET corsets or tummy-tucking Spanx - there's a new eye-watering trend that will make you wince. And need to book in regular wax appointments. 9 Jennifer Lopez is one of the many celebs to endorse the 'wedgeshe' Credit: instagram/jlo 9 Hip-high cut and thin in shape, the new trend makes fashion editor Clemmie Fieldsend wince Credit: instagram/jlo The saying goes, beauty is pain, but A-listers are bring a whole new meaning. Celebrities from Jennifer Lopez to Naomi Campbell have taken to a new look of wearing ultra high cut and ultra pelvic exposing bodysuits. Just to look at their all-in ones that look not too dissimilar to having your thong on back to front makes my whole body shivers in repulsion and in sympathy pain. I've aptly christened this the wedgeshe. Whilst , 56, has been on her Up All Night tour in various locations including Spain, Italy and Poland she has taken to the stage wearing an extreme version of the wedgshe. The rest of us wouldn't dream of wearing something so revealing and tempting the fate of a god almighty 'reveal', but not our She laughs in the face of exposing danger and continues to hop, skip and leap around stages with nearly everything on show. 9 The Jenny from the Block singer, 56, has never been afraid to wear a risque stage costume, and her latest tour has been no exception Credit: Instagram Don't get me wrong, the Jenny From The Block singer can pull it off her remarkable body but, if I were front row and in the face of, well, that - then I wouldn't be able to concentrate. 9 Naomi Campbell takes brave steps on the runway at the Dsquared2 fashion show in a wedgeshe Credit: Getty Earlier this year model Naomi Campbell, 55, took to the catwalk for fashion brand Dsquared2 wearing a long sleeved, leather wedgeshe. Complete with over the knee boots, her jutting hips were out of all to see as she strutted her stuff down the runway. But yikes, the cocktail of that powerful walk (the best in the business), leather, hot lights and nylon tights could potentially result in cystitis. The 27-year-old US star wore her wedgeshe with heeled lace up boots and a waist belt. How she could breathe, let alone rap, with all that restrictive gear on it beyond me. The feathered cover-up does seem a little bit unnecessary considering everything else is exposed, but this is fashion after all. 9 Dua Lipa modelling for Yves Saint Laurent Credit: Instagram When Dua Lipa signed up to be the face of fashion and beauty brand Yves Saint Laurent, I'm sure wearing a wedgeshe wasn't listed in the T's&C's. But the trooper that she is, the 29-year-old strapped into her belted number that not only was suffocating on the pelvic area but also had cut outs at the side for one of the brands campaigns. I'm no marketing genius but I doubt anyone was looking at the lipgloss they were selling - or was it mascara? 9 Ashley Roberts attends London Fashion Week February in a tartan bodysuit Credit: Getty 9 Bianca Censori at Milan Fashion Week wearing a PVC wedge and matching plastic boots Credit: Getty Other wedgeshe fans include Ashely Roberts, 43, who wore a daring look to Fashion Week and of course, if there's a controversial trend you know Bianca Sensori has tried it. The 30-year-old however didn't go for the chastity belt style, but a somewhat more breathable apron style, but still in it was made of rubber. If this trend continues to grow, I urge you high street brands and shoppers to not start making wedegshe looks for party season. Keep your standards high and your privates private.
