BBC ALBA to screen Hibernian's remaining games in race for SWPL title
This Sunday (11 May), BBC ALBA viewers can tune in to back-to-back fixtures, kicking off with Hibernian v Glasgow City, as the current league leaders host the second-placed Glasgow side at Meadowbank Stadium.
Live coverage is set to begin on BBC ALBA from 12pm, with commentary from BBC Spòrs presenter, Alex O'Henley, and former Aberdeen FC manager, Emma Hunter, as both teams compete for a chance to claim the season title with just three points sitting between them.
Next up is the final old firm of the season, as Celtic take on Rangers at New Douglas Park. With live coverage on BBC ALBA from 4pm, the high stakes tackles and turning points will be brought to life for fans at home with expert commentary from BBC Spòrs presenter, Derek Mackay alongside former Rangers captain, Clare Gemmell.
On Wednesday (14 May), Hibernian compete against last year's title winners, Celtic, at Meadowbank Stadium. The final home fixture for Hibs will determine where they finish in the league, with live coverage from 5.50pm ahead of kick off at 6pm.
The final day of matches next Sunday (18 May) sees Glasgow City face Heart of Midlothian FC. With kick-off at 12pm, fans can watch the end of the season results unfold live on BBC ALBA and BBC iPlayer from Petershill Stadium.

The 26-year-old England international, who signed a six-year deal with the Spanish giants after his contract with English champions Liverpool expired, spoke fluent Spanish confidently at his official presentation ahead of a press conference. His choice to speak in the language of his new club and not English surprised many, but showed the preparation which had gone into this move, something for which he was criticised by sections of the Liverpool fanbase after running down his contract with his hometown club. "Nah Trent was speaking intermediate level Spanish. He has been planning to leave for YEARSSS LOOOOOOOOOOOL," another mused, with a third fuming: "Trent cost his boyhood club the winning goal in a Champions League final and immediately started learning Spanish to help orchestrate a move to the club he'd just lost too, don't let anyone tell you he's not a rat." Acknowledging that many - including former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp - criticised Reds fans for booing Trent during one of his final games for the club after confirming his exit, another Twitter (X) user wrote: "LOOOOOOL na we all need to apologise to Liverpool fans because Trent is all of a sudden fluent in Spanish???? I am so sorry Liverpool fans." Trent admitted during his presentation that Real Madrid was the only team he would have left boyhood club Liverpool for and was comfortable he made the right decision. The 26-year-old, who has signed a six-year deal after Real Madrid paid £8.5million to release him from a contract expiring this month, rejected suggestions he had been heavily influenced by close friend and England team-mate Jude Bellingham. He also denied he had been orchestrating the move for a long time but impressing president Florentino Perez and assembled club dignitaries by surprisingly addressing them in Spanish did nothing to calm the anger a significant section of the fanbase have felt about the way he handled his exit after 20 years at Liverpool. 'To be honest, it was never a question of where, it was whether to go or not to go but I always knew, I've probably known it for a long time, if I was ever to leave Liverpool, it would only be to go Real Madrid, that would be the only club for me,' said Trent, who told a press conference he had been learning Spanish 'for a few months'. John Terry rubs shoulders with Chelsea fans when he goes to away games as a supporter and believes the trophy-laden times are on pause as he challenged Todd Boehly to create a plan that they can get behind Chelsea legend John Terry has revealed he goes to away games as a fan - and completely understands their frustrations. Terry won 15 major trophies during a glittering 20 year career at Stamford Bridge from academy graduate to club captain and no-one wants to see Chelsea win more than him. But Chelsea are trying to rebuild under current joint owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali to bring back the glory days when they ruled Europe under Roman Abramovich. Chelsea go to the Club World Cup after lifting the Champions League in 2021 but the supporters these days are watching a new-look squad of youngsters rather than proven winners. Former Chelsea captain Terry admits he talks with the supporters in the away end and, despite their impressive finish to the season, understands why the fans want more. Terry said: 'It's probably hard in terms of not competing for trophies. That's the hard bit. I go to away games and stuff, I sit with the supporters and we talk about it. You get a different perspective on stuff because I know the money they are spending and the disparity between the fans and the players is getting bigger and bigger. 'We're off that at the minute, I have to say. But it's going to be a process of that. But Chelsea fans, because of what we've seen pre-Roman, we've seen these down times then it's fine for us. "The most important thing for those fans, and I'm a fan, is that we can see a plan is in place. Then I think the fans will buy into it. Whether they're fully behind it at the moment, I don't know and I can't speak for the supporters. But I feel we need a bit of experience in the group. I feel they're a young bunch, I feel their recent form has been slightly off due to a lack of experience and we've lost a couple of the boys due to injury. Terry won the title five times at Chelsea, was part of the Champions League winning squad in 2012 and will go down as one of the club's greatest captain and a club legend. However, Terry admitted that he is jealous of former Blues defender Cesar Azpilicueta who completed the full set by winning the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi after the club's last European Cup in 2021. The tournament has been completely overhauled and expanded for the United States this summer and Chelsea are in the mix with the biggest clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City for the £97m jackpot for winning it as part of an overall prize money of £775m. Terry added: 'I'm really jealous of Azpi winning that and it was the only thing that my generation didn't. In terms of these current players, you have to be realistic and say they're not going to win the league, is there much else to offer? No, there's not. That's why this is a real opportunity for this group of players to really go and set the tone worldwide, play against the very best teams, the best players and also bring a trophy back. It's there for all of us to go and win. 'We'd be daft to not field our strongest team, or rest a few players, stuff like that, and it's a great financial boost for the football clubs, especially if you go and win it as well. That could be the difference of signing a striker, a midfielder or defender, whatever that may be. A keeper. A top class signing. 'I'm jealous of the current players having this opportunity. I promise you, when you're playing, Dennis Wise said to me a long time ago: 'you career is going to go in a flash.' That's exactly what happened. I'm six years retired now. I'd love to go back for one more game, let alone a competition like this at the end of it. 'Listen, we have to be aware of the players' welfare and stuff like that. But squads are so big now and also I was at my best when I was playing 65 or 70 games a season because I was in a rhythm. These players have got a real opportunity to go and be the first team to win it.'

Belfast Giants confirm return of most successful coach for eighth season behind bench
The 41-year-old, who only five days ago saw his No.47 jersey retired by the Giants during his testimonial game, has agreed a new one-year deal covering the 2025/26 campaign to remain head coach. It is a logical move for both parties, Keefe continuing his association with the club into its 15th year as a player and coach, while the Giants have the man who has delivered ten trophies in seven seasons back leading them again. Nor was it much of a surprise, the Ontario native tipping his hand significantly by not only taking part in the Champions League draw for next season but declaring after his testimonial that he couldn't wait to get the new campaign under way, while he has repeatedly declared that it would only take a substantial offer or an unmissable opportunity for him to seek employment outside of Belfast. It is also expected that Keefe will have his three lieutenants, George Awada, Jeff Mason and Rob Stewart, alongside him for the new season as well, however that is yet to be confirmed. But Keefe is the key piece behind the bench and, although they are yet to officially announce a player for the new season, having the four-time Elite League Coach of the Year back in situ is already an excellent starting point. A born winner, Keefe has won at least one trophy in five of his seven seasons with the Giants – including the 2019/20 season that was halted prematurely due to the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic – including the Grand Slam in the 2022/23 campaign. The former Giants captain, who won two Elite League titles as a player, has lifted the League crown four times since taking over in 2017, as well as five Challenge Cups and one Play-Off title, while he has also taken the organisation to three further Play-Off Finals. Keefe burst onto the scene as a coach by winning the Challenge Cup in his first season in charge, defeating the Cardiff Devils in the Final at Ice Arena Wales, and then had an outstanding sophomore season in 2018/19 by missing out on the Grand Slam by one game, defeating the Guildford Flames in the Cup Final and famously winning the League while celebrating their end-of-season awards dinner, only to lose to the Devils in the Play-Off Final. Since the pandemic, the Giants have dominated the Elite League under Keefe by winning seven of the 12 trophies on offer, once again missing out on the Grand Slam by a game in 2022 after losing the Play-Off Final to the Devils having already done the League and Cup double again, before finally completing the clean sweep a season later, this time defeating the Devils in the final game of the season to add to another League and Cup success. After watching the Sheffield Steelers do the same two seasons ago, the Giants returned to their perch last season with a phenomenal League win that went down to the final game of the season, added to their Cup joy against the Devils back in March, although the Welsh side would have the last laugh by winning their Play-Off Semi-Final this time around. Keefe will also lead the Giants in the Champions League for the fourth time this season, their reward for winning the League title, with the organisation determined to be involved in the Play-Offs having missed out on the knockouts by a point two years ago.
