And Just Like That fans furious over 'irritating' Carrie cheating scandal: 'They've ruined all of these characters'

Daily Mail04-07-2025
Fans have been torn on Carrie Bradshaw's (Sarah Jessica Parker) bizarre long distance relationship with Aidan Shaw (John Corbett), but now many are calling for it to end after a shocking revelation from Aidan on Thursday's And Just Like That...
The new episode - entitled Silent Mode - found Aidan returning to New York, after his troubled son Wyatt (Logan Souza) agreed to go to a wilderness program in Wyoming for a week.
However, Aidan changed his mind at the airport, which lead to some strife with Aidan, Wyatt and his ex-wife Kathy (Rosemarie DeWitt) on their ride back home.
Still, Aidan made his way to New York City, and promptly revealed to Carrie that he slept with Kathy, which stunned Carrie... though her reaction stunned fans more, just a week after Cynthia Nixon stunned fans with her full-frontal nudity.
She ultimately forgave him, almost immediately, which lead to an awkward conversation about the scope of their relationship.
It also lead to fans taking to social media to immediately bash the show and its writers, with some even alleging this show has 'ruined' the once-beloved characters from the original HBO series, Sex and the City.
Aidan's Manhattan arrival got off to a weird start, when he, for some reason, decided to throw a pebble at the window to get Carrie's attention.
When that didn't work, he threw the small rock harder, which naturally lead to the window breaking.
Aidan said he could get someone to replace the glass, but she insists the glass is 'really delicate and wavy' and it 'makes rainbows when the sun hits it in a certain way,' leading Aidan to admit nothing is going his way.
He admitted that Wyatt wouldn't get on the airplane, and changed his mind at the gate but they insisted that he would go.
He would insist on driving to Scranton, Pennsylvania to find antique glass to replace the window, but when he got back, Aidan dropped a bombshell: he slept with Kathy.
'After the airport, she was just so upset and, I mean, we both were. I guess we were just trying to comfort each other. It just happened, and it was a mistake, honey, we both said so, and it will never, ever happen again, it just won't,' Aidan said.
Carrie was clearly distraught, but she admitted that she understood, 'how that could happen,' as he apologized for betraying her.
That seemed to confuse Carrie more, as Aidan admitted, 'We agreed to wait for each other and I slept with someone else,' though Carrie says, 'Well, I didn't agree to that.'

She says she agreed that she would be there waiting when he was ready, adding, 'You expected me not to sleep with anyone else for five years?'
Aidan insists he agreed to it but Carrie said even he couldn't do it, as Aidan admitted he, 'broke our trust,' which sent Carrie's mind racing.
She said she had a hard time understanding how they never had this conversation, though she admitted she didn't want to sleep with anyone else and she still wants to sleep with him, as they ended up in bed that night.
Still, fans were furious about the scene and their relationship as a whole, with some like @droosion insisting this season has 'ruined all of these characters.'
'What Carrie has become to Aidan…they've ruined all of these characters and I've tried to stay positive but it's bad,' the X user admitted.
Socially Staci J (@SocialBride26) said, 'Carrie and Aidan's storyline isn't even interesting. It's simply irritating. In no world, would Carrie be okay with Aidan sleeping with an ex wife he still shares land with. End it. Please.'
Many others were calling for Carrie and Aidan's relationship to be over like @DerekPlease, who said, 'Aidan is such a d-bag man child cliché, and a fair-weather boyfriend. The writers and show-runners are not even trying to hide it with his nighttime routine. I'm actually happy the writers are in on the joke that is Aidan Shaw.'
Veronica Altimari (@VAltimari) said, 'The way I actually GASPED #AJLT GTFO Aiden!!! I hate this mfer so much. What are we doing here?! He needs to GO for good. But for the first time this season, this episode made me laugh and well up because of the LTW storyline. Her MIL for the win.'

Sassypants (@lucysmom83) said, 'Carrie and Aiden lost the magic. No chemistry and Aiden is a selfish jerk with 1 asshole of a kid (the other two seem lovely).'
Another X user dubbed @dmvrebuild added, 'Chile please.. Aiden and Carrie… end this already #AndJustLikeThat.'

Elsewhere in the episode, Carrie agreed to read to swap first chapters with her downstairs neighbor, Duncan Reeves (Jonathan Cake) while Lisa (Nicole Ari Parker) learned her beloved father (Billy Dee Williams) had passed away.
Jennifer Lewis guest-starred as Lisa's father's partner at the theater he helped run, who put together an unorthodox funeral.
Meanwhile, Seema (Sarita Choudhury) found the perfect apartment for Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Miranda's son Brady (Niall Cunningham) meets her new girlfriend Joy (Dolly Wells) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) finally tells Carrie that her husband Harry (Evan Handler) has prostate cancer and breaks down in tears.

The Summer I Turned Pretty star under fire for boasting about his 'genetics' in new Dunkin commercial after Sydney Sweeney's polarizing ad

Another celebrity and brand have come under fire following the release of an advertisement mentioning 'genetics.' Actor Gavin Casalegno of The Summer I Turned Pretty stars in Dunkin Donuts' latest commercial for their Summer Refreshers, where he credits his tanned skin to his 'genetics.' 'Look, I didn't ask to be the king of summer. It just kind of happened,' Gavin, 25, says as he lounges by a pool with the Dunkins drink in hand. 'This tan? Genetics!' he says. 'I just got my color analysis back and guess what? Golden summer! Literally. 'I can't help it. Every time I drink a Dunkin Golden Hour Refresher, it's like the sun just finds me. So if sipping these refreshers makes me the king of summer, guilty as charged.' The ad has drawn comparisons to Sydney Sweeney's polarizing American Eagle denim campaign, which features the blue-eyed actress in an ad containing the tagline 'Sydney Sweeney has great jeans' (a deliberate play on the phrase 'great genes'). A Dunkin Donuts ad starring Gavin Casalegno is now facing backlash after it saw the actor credit his tan to 'genetics' in the commercial It comes after the release of Sydney Sweeney's ad for American Eagle, which also sparked controversy for it's 'Sydney Sweeney has great jeans' tagline has reached out to representatives for both Casalegno and Dunkin Donuts but did not immediately hear back. Fans did not take to the mention of genetics kindly as they weighed in on the ad on TikTok. 'Another white blonde, hair blue eye,' one TikToker vital_media_marketing commented in a video critiquing the alleged messaging behind the ad. In the comments section of both that particular video and Dunkin's original TikTok post of the ad, social media users weighed in over how unnerved they were by the campaign. 'why are ads so obsessed with genetics all of a sudden,' one commenter chimed in. 'IT'S GIVING SYDNEY SWEENEY AD,' another observed. 'genuinely what does a drink have to do with genetics?' another asked. 'Why are the corporates so obsessed with yt supremacy,' another asked. 'wow, if i had a nickel for every time a popular company rolled out ad campaigns filled with genetic/eugenist dog whistles THIS WEEK, i'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right?' another asked. Several also said they would no longer be doing business with Dunkin. 'I'll never have Dunkin' Donuts again,' another vowed. 'I guess Dunkin just joined the boycott list with Starbucks,' one said. But not everyone was in agreement that the commercial was sending a message about eugenics. In the ad, Gavin credits his tanned skin to 'genetics' Viewers were unnerved by the mention of 'genetics' in the ad, particularly after Sydney's campaign TikToker MelMelTalks called the commercial's release 'bad timing' as she explained how the new Dunkin Donuts drink actually represents Gavin's character on The Summer I Turned Pretty. 'Oh my God! It gets to a point guys! This ad is not about eugenics, it's about the golden summer and the drink!' she insisted. 'Most of you guys don't watch The Summer I Turned Pretty, and the ones that do, y'all can't separate fiction from reality and you never liked Gavin. 'Is it bad timing? Could they have waited or just scratched it... but there are deadlines they had to meet and they probably wanted to get this out before the end of summer because he's in the show The Summer I Turn Pretty! And if this would have released before the Sydney Sweeney ad, we would not having this conversation,' she said. 'He also is known for being the more like, outside, outdoorsy, athletic, tan.' But TikToker MelMelTalks disagreed with the accusations the ad was promoting eugenics as she pointed out how Gavin's character on The Summer I Turned Pretty was a perfect fit for the Dunkin drink Gavin plays Jeremiah on The Summer I Turned Pretty, a character MelMelTalks noted was known for being 'outdoorsy', 'athletic', and having a tan The 'great jeans' tagline was a deliberate play on the phrase 'great genes' 'He gets like the surfer, the fun, the golden retriever type, and it was really a play on that... "Oh this tan, it's genetics," it's just saying that he's meant to be the boy of the summer. It's just bad timing.' Indeed, the commercial comes just days after an American Eagle campaign starring Sydney Sweeney sparked controversy. Last week, the Euphoria star, 27, became the face of American Eagle's fall denim campaign featuring the tagline, 'Sydney Sweeney has great jeans' — a deliberate play on the phrase 'great genes.' One viral clip shows Sweeney standing in front of a poster reading 'Sydney Sweeney has great genes,' with the word 'genes' crossed out and replaced with 'jeans.' Another video includes Sweeney saying, 'Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color,' as the camera pans to her blue eyes, then she adds, 'My jeans are blue.' While the campaign's clever wordplay was intended to be playful and bold, it ignited accusations on social media platforms of promoting racial undertones, eugenics, and white supremacy — largely due to the focus on genetics alongside Sweeney's blue-eyed image.

Janice Dickinson's comments about Liam Neeson's manhood resurface amid Pamela Anderson romance

As Liam Neeson enjoys a flowering romance with Pamela Anderson, saucy claims have resurfaced about what he is like in the bedroom. Supermodel Janice Dickinson has dished that she indulged in a fling with Liam before he achieved the global stardom he enjoys today. Looking back on the relationship years later, Janice, 70, had emphatic words to describe what she saw when Liam, 73, got undressed. The fashionista crowed that Liam had 'the biggest penis of any man alive,' while giving an interview to the New York Post in 2006. 'It was like an Evian bottle fell out of his pants,' she told Star in 2011. 'The earth shook. Oh my God, you don't understand. I swallowed my tongue. I was so shocked. This was way before he was famous, too.' Janice, who reached the height of her fame in the 1980s, has dated a string of celebrities including Sylvester Stallone, Warren Beatty and Jack Nicholson. A source confirmed to Daily Mail this week that Liam and Pamela have been dating 'for a while' after meeting on the set of their upcoming The Naked Gun reboot. Liam was previously married to actress Natasha Richardson, who fell on a ski slope without a helmet and died tragically a head injury at the age of just 45 in 2009. In her memoir No Lifeguard on Duty, Janice claimed she first met Liam at the studio of a photographer who was 'doing a book of celebrity nudes and wanted me in it.' She arrived 'dressed like a f*** machine' and was met with the sight of a 'half-naked' Liam, at which point her 'Little Flower tingled. No, it didn't tingle. It f***ing rocked. Suddenly I realized that I was missing sex, too. Just not with my husband.' At the time, she was still with her second husband Simon Fields, whom she married in 1987 and welcomed a son with before divorcing him in 1993.
