Lawrence Wong, Cabinet sworn in after PAP election win
SINGAPORE: Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong led the swearing-in of the Cabinet for the new term of government at the Istana on Friday, following the People's Action Party's (PAP) resounding victory at the May 3 general election.
The ceremony, broadcast live on television and streamed on social media platforms, began at about 8 pm with the national anthem, Majulah Singapura, followed by a speech from President Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
Wong, who also serves as Finance Minister, took and signed the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath for the Due Execution of Office before President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon.
The Prime Minister was then presented with the instrument of appointment by the President.
Next to be sworn in were Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, and the three coordinating ministers.
They are Coordinating Minister for National Security and Home Affairs Minister K. Shanmugam, Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Defence Minister Chan Chun Sing, and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Health Minister Ong Ye Kung.
Subsequently, nine Ministers, 12 Senior Ministers of State and eight Ministers of State were also sworn in.
All ministers took and signed the Affirmation of Allegiance and the Affirmation for the Due Execution of Office and received their instruments of appointment from the President.
One additional Minister of State, Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, will be sworn in at a later date, as his appointment takes effect from Feb 1, 2026.
The senior parliamentary secretaries will also be sworn in at a later date.
Wong announced his new Cabinet lineup on Wednesday (May 21).

Indonesian President Prabowo to make first state visit to Singapore on June 16
SINGAPORE, June 15 — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will make his first state visit to Singapore on Monday (June 16), according to Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). Prabowo, who was inaugurated in October last year, will receive a ceremonial welcome at Parliament House and call on President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. 'President Tharman will host a state banquet in honour of President Prabowo,' the MFA said in a statement on Sunday. Prabowo will also meet Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong for the Singapore–Indonesia Leaders' Retreat, the first between the two leaders in their current capacities. 'As the highest-level platform between the two countries, the annual Leaders' Retreat is a testament to the excellent bilateral relations and strong interpersonal ties between our leaders,' the MFA said. The ministry stated that during the meeting, the leaders will review the strong and substantive cooperation between Singapore and Indonesia, and chart the way forward. Prabowo will be accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto; Coordinating Minister for People's Empowerment, Muhaimin Iskandar; Foreign Affairs Minister, Sugiono; Home Affairs Minister, Tito Karnavian; and Law Minister, Supratman Andi Agtas. KTS, Suzuki Marine mark 50 years with ocean clean-up campaign

KOTA KINABALU (June 14): The 50th anniversary of the partnership between KTS and Suzuki Marine marks half a century of strong collaboration and shared success. To commemorate this meaningful journey, KTS and Suzuki Marine, together with the Kinabalu Yacht Club, had launched the 'Clean Up the World Campaign – Suzuki Clean Ocean Project' here on Saturday. This programme represented more than just a campaign, as it is a collective commitment by both parties to protecting the oceans and preserving coastlines for generations to come. The clean-up campaign is a global initiative by Suzuki Marine, bringing together businesses and local communities from around the world to clean up beaches, remove marine debris, improve ocean health and most importantly, raise public awareness about the importance of marine conservation. Since this global project began, it has reached over 26 countries, engaged more than 20,000 volunteers and successfully removed over 120 tonnes of marine waste from the oceans.
