The Dallas Mavericks need to acquire a point guard this offseason since Kyrie Irving will miss a chunk of next season recovering from his left ACL tear.

With that said, Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report proposed a three-team trade idea between the Mavericks, Celtics and Brooklyn Nets that sends Jrue Holiday from Boston to Dallas.
According to Marc Stein of The Stein Line, the Mavericks are interested in acquiring Holiday, who will make $32.4 million next season.
The Celtics may break up their core this offseason since they will have the most expensive roster in the NBA next season and Jayson Tatum may not play at all in 2025-26 due to his right Achilles tendon tear.

A two-time NBA champion, Holiday averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists in the 2024-25 regular season and 10.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists in the 2025 playoffs in seven games against the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks.

"Holiday is a capable starting point guard," Pincus wrote. "He's not as dynamic as Irving offensively, but he is among the best defenders of his generation. Holiday is also one of the most respected people in the league (winning both the NBA's sportsman and teammate of the year awards this season)."
Holiday and Mavericks big man Anthony Davis were teammates on the New Orleans Pelicans. The two All-Stars appeared in 310 games together.
Holiday has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Pelicans, Milwaukee Bucks and Celtics. The UCLA product has career averages of 15.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists.
The Mavericks missed the playoffs this year after making the NBA Finals last year. They shockingly traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in February.

Aaron Rodgers officially signs one-year contract with Steelers worth over $13 million: report
Aaron Rodgers is officially headed to Pittsburgh next season. The four-time league MVP officially signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday and will address the media on Tuesday for the first time following the team's first minicamp practice, the Steelers' senior director of communications Burt Lauten announced on X. Rodgers, 41, signed a one-year deal worth up to $19.5 million with incentives, which includes a $10 million guarantee, ESPN reported, citing sources. The news, first reported on Wednesday, ended months of speculation as to whether Rodgers would return for another NFL season or enter retirement after a failed two-year stint with the New York Jets. Rodgers addressed the rumors about his decision and his time with the Jets, during an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" in April. He said he had spoken to several teams, including New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll and Minnesota Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell, whom he is in regular contact with. "I'm open to anything and attached to nothing. Retirement could still be a possibility, but right now my focus is and has been and will continue to be on my personal life … there's still conversations that are being had." Ultimately, the veteran NFL quarterback decided Pittsburgh would be where he would play his 21st season. Rodgers' arrival solves the Steelers' quarterback problems – at least for now – after Russell Wilson and Justin Fields both signed with New York Teams. Now Rodgers will battle Mason Rudolph, who signed a two-year contract in March, for the starting position.
