Scottie Scheffler snaps at reporter over 'ridiculous' Ryder Cup questions in awkward press conference moment
The world No 1 will spearhead the American team - under captain Keegan Bradley - when they take on Rory McIlroy and Co at Bethpage Black in late September.
Scheffler is currently playing in the BMW Championship at Caves Valley in Maryland and ahead of the tournament he put a stop to talk about the Ryder Cup.
The tipping point came when the world No 1 was asked about what he expects from the crowd at Bethpage - and how it might compare to the atmosphere at the last Ryder Cup in Rome in 2023.
'I love answering all these questions about the Ryder Cup, but this is ridiculous. We're at the BMW Championship. The Ryder Cup is over a month away,; Scheffler said.
'If you want to talk about this week, let's talk about this week. If not, I've got practice to do. I'm getting ready for a golf tournament.'

Scheffler made a strong start to the BMW Championship on Thursday, shooting a four-under-par 66 in his opening round. At the time of writing, he was tied for second - two shot behind the leader, Scotland's Robert MacIntyre.
They are slated to do battle at Bethpage next month, when the United States will attempt to regain the Ryder Cup after a heavy defeat in Rome.
Tensions boiled over at Marco Simone after America's Patrick Cantlay was heckled by European fans.
His caddie, Joe LaCava, clashed with McIlroy, who later had to be restrained by his teammates as tempers flared in the car park.
Earlier this week, McIlroy ruled out the possibility of taking on a dual role as both player and captain for Team Europe at a future Ryder Cup, insisting the demands of the job have grown too great.

MacIntyre birdied the first after a fine approach to inside five feet, before further gains from 14 feet at the fourth and seven feet at the seventh. He picked up another shot at the 11th after driving the green at the par four, holed from 30 feet at the 14th and completed his scoring by reaching the par-five 16th in two and two-putting for birdie as he chases a third PGA Tour title and career-best $3.6million payday. August 16 - Sam Darnold led a touchdown drive on his lone series, helping the host Seattle Seahawks roll to a 33-16 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday. Darnold, the Seahawks' new No. 1 quarterback, made his preseason debut after sitting out last week against the Las Vegas Raiders. He completed all four of his passes for 34 yards during a 10-play, 81-yard march. Drew Lock followed Darnold at QB for the hosts and went 10 of 12 for 129 yards and two touchdown passes to Jake Bobo. Dareke Young led the Seahawks (1-0-1) with three receptions for 52 yards, and Damien Martinez gained 50 yards on 11 carries. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes sat out for the Chiefs (0-2). Gardner Minshew got the start and completed 7 of 9 passes for 70 yards and a 1-yard TD pass to Robert Tonyan, who had a game-high five receptions for 41 yards. Titans 23, Falcons 20 Second-year defensive back Kendell Brooks returned an interception 53 yards for an opening touchdown, as Tennessee never trailed in a win at Atlanta. Brooks, a 25-year-old product of Michigan State with one career tackle, intercepted Falcons quarterback Easton Stick on Atlanta's second drive of the game, putting the Falcons in an early hole. Brandon Allen staked the Titans (1-1) to a 13-3 lead late in the first half, connecting with Gunnar Helm on a 25-yard touchdown pass. Stick went most of the way for Atlanta (0-2) and had 173 yards on 19-of-32 passing. His third-quarter, 52-yard scoring connection with Chris Blair tied the score at 20 before a Joey Slye 23-yard field goal provided the winning margin for Tennessee. No. 1 overall draft choice Cam Ward saw limited time for the Titans, completing 2 of 7 passes for 42 yards. Allen passed for 119 yards. --Field Level Media

Rays come back three times, hand Giants 6th straight loss
August 16 - Yandy Diaz broke a ninth-inning tie with an RBI single, Junior Caminero launched his 35th home run and the visiting Tampa Bay Rays beat the San Francisco Giants 7-6 on Friday night in what turned into a battle of bullpens. After the first 3 1/2 innings resulted in a 6-6 tie, neither team scored again until the ninth. Nick Fortes was hit by a pitch from Giants closer Randy Rodriguez (3-4) leading off the final frame. Chandler Simpson's third hit sent Fortes to third, and Simpson stole second. After Brandon Lowe's grounder resulted in an out at the plate, Diaz singled to right, scoring Simpson. Ian Seymour, Garrett Cleavinger, Griffin Jax, Edwin Uceta (8-2) and Pete Fairbanks combined to shut out the Giants over the final six innings. Fairbanks threw a scoreless ninth for his 21st save after Rafael Devers' inning-opening double. The Giants held the upper hand on three occasions early on, scoring one in the first, two in the second and three in the third. But the Rays immediately countered with the same amount in the second, third and fourth, creating 1-1, 3-3 and 6-6 ties. Willy Adames homered, his 19th of the season, Patrick Bailey had a two-run double and Christian Koss and Heliot Ramos each doubled home a run to highlight the Giants' early attack on Rays starter Joe Boyle, who left after Adames' homer leading off the third. The right-hander allowed four runs and four hits, walked two and struck out three. Caminero produced Tampa Bay's first run with a solo homer in the second off Giants starter Landen Roupp. Simpson scored the tying run in the third, then created the 6-6 deadlock with a two-run single in the fourth. Roupp worked two batters into the fourth, getting neither out, and eventually was charged with five runs on five hits with one walk and five strikeouts. Simpson finished with three singles, two runs and two RBIs for the Rays, who won their second game in a row. Diaz had two hits and two RBIs, while Jake Mangum also collected two hits and Caminero also scored twice. Koss had a double and a single and scored twice for the Giants, who lost their sixth straight, all at home. Dominic Smith also had two hits, and Adames also scored twice. --Field Level Media
