Arkansas State Police make arrest after human remains discovered in Mount Ida

MOUNT IDA, Ark. – A person was arrested on Saturday by troopers with the Arkansas State Police after human remains were discovered near their property.
According to a press release from the ASP, officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office requested their assistance with a missing person's case. Agents said that when they arrived, they found evidence of foul play.
Troopers said that a suspect was identified, arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Center after human remains were discovered near their Mount Ida property.

Officials said that the suspect has been charged with second degree battery, kidnapping and tampering with physical evidence, with additional charges pending.
Troopers are asking for the public's help in locating a black 2011 GMC Terrain with Arkansas plate AEV 26R. Anyone with information about the vehicle's location should call the ASP at 501-767-8550.
