Surrey sign Australia all-rounder Harris
Australia all-rounder Grace Harris has signed for Surrey as this year's overseas player.The 31-year-old, who plays for London Spirit in The Hundred, will be available from the fixture against Hampshire Hawks at the Kia Oval on 5 June - the county's first home Vitality Blast fixture of the season.Harris has played 51 T20 matches for her country, averaging 22.19 with the bat and has nine wickets at an average of 19.77.She plays for Queensland Fire in the Women's National Cricket League and for Brisbane Heat in the Women's Big Bash League, plus UP Warriorz in the Women's Premier League in India.

England football star Millie Bright has moved on from breaking up with her fiance - by starting a new relationship with a hunky personal trainer, MailOnline can reveal. The Lionesses defender, who last week dramatically pulled out of Euro 2025, has been dating father-of-seven David Zetolofsky, 39, for several months. Chelsea ace Millie, who is now recovering from a knee op, said that she had decided to withdraw from the England squad because she was unable to 'give 100 percent mentally or physically' in the upcoming tournament. Behind the scenes however, 31-year-old Millie has been consoling herself over her Euros disappointment by taking her relationship with the buff trainer up a level - with him now moving in, friends say. The Chelsea star met Mr Zetolofsky at a Surrey gym which he both owns and works in as a fitness coach - and where she regularly works out. They met after Millie was newly single after her engagement to previous partner Levi Crow - also a fitness coach - didn't work out. Mr Zetolofsky was also freshly back on the dating scene after his marriage to the mother of his seven children broke up shortly before he met Millie Mr Zetolofsky and Millie are understood to have grown increasingly close after his marriage break up and her split from American born fitness coach Levi culminating in him asking her out. There is no suggestion either Millie or David cheated on their previous partners and indeed they are not thought to have even spoken until they were both single. Mr Zetolofsky runs the popular gym in Redhill, Surrey, which is just a stone's throw from the £400,000 new-build end-of-terrace home where he now lives with Millie after her fiance moved out some months earlier. Their relationship since has been the talk of the gym where she is the most famous client and he the high profile owner. A source said: 'The relationship between Millie and Dave is the talk of the gym – everyone knows about it. 'They have got very serious very quickly. They were both getting over failed relationships when they met and obviously really clicked. 'Since then things have accelerated very quickly. They are spending a lot of time with each other and now David has now even moved in. 'They seem really happy together - they're into each other big time.' Mr Zetolofsky's wife Katie, who is also a director at the gym the former couple own together, has remained in the family home. Levi Crow meanwhile is understood to have moved to Dubai to begin a new life there without Millie. Millie's break up with Levi had stunned those that knew them. As well as the couple themselves their families were said to have been close. Millie and Levi had moved in together to a home they were very proud of in Surrey. And this period culminated in December 2023 when Levi romantically proposed during a dream winter holiday to Mauritius. Millie couldn't wait to announce the engagement to fans, posting a picture of her flashing a diamond engagement ring, writing: 'Little did I think this would be the most beautiful Christmas in my entire life… I said YES after the shock had settled and Levi reminded me yes or no.' Addressing her now fiance she added: 'You was already my person but here's to the future bubba. I love you.' She has also referred to Levi as her 'king' who was with her 'through thick and thin'. She even has a tattoo of his eye on her arm which has been shown prominently in official squad photos. But fans noticed she had removed any mention of him from her social media accounts and deleted the engagement post. Millie has undergone minor knee surgery after a stellar season with Chelsea, winning the treble and finishing unbeaten domestically. Counties must see 'big picture' - ex-ECB boss Lamb
Former England and Wales Cricket Board chief executive Tim Lamb believes county members must look at "the bigger picture" when considering the game's says the commercial potential of the domestic T20 competition, introduced in 2003, has not been fully exploited, compared to tournaments like the Indian Premier Lamb believes the proposed sale of franchises for The Hundred must go ahead as it will also produce a huge boost in income for the county clubs. "Some people have talked about the monster we created but I think it's a shame the ECB didn't capitalise on what was our invention," Lamb told BBC Radio Northampton's The Cricket Show."I think we were prisoners of cricket politics, the way the county system works, and it's not the first British invention that's then been exploited by others and we've been left behind. The IPL, no one could have foreseen that (at the time). "The sale of the franchises is going to provide the first-class counties with undreamt -of amounts of money which hopefully will be spent responsibly by those counties." Cricket has 'an ethos, a soul' Lamb, 72, was in charge of the ECB, previously the Test and County Cricket Board, from 1996 to 2004, during which time central contracts for England's men's players were introduced along with a two-tier County Championship, as well as the T20 Blast, then called the Twenty20 Cup. His departure from the post followed controversy over England's refusal to travel to Zimbabwe for a game during the 2003 Cricket World Cup - the points forfeited cost them a place in the next phase of the said that on taking the job, his guiding belief was that cricket should be "a business within a game, not a game within a business"."Cricket is a multi-million pound business but essentially it's a sport - it has an ethos, a soul, and I wanted to emphasise that we wanted business to be the servant of cricket, rather than the master," he added."I was very lucky to have (Lord) Ian MacLaurin as my chairman - he and I took over at the back end of 1996 and we set out to try to improve standards at every level. "We had extra revenue to spend from fairly lucrative television broadcasting contracts, so we were able to invest in many parts of the game that hadn't previously been funded. I hope we moved the game forward." 'Youngsters need heroes to emulate' The introduction of central contracts played a part in the Ashes triumph of 20 years ago, when Michael Vaughan's England team defeated Australia on home soil."One of the priorities for Ian and myself was to have a successful England men's team because that gives heroes for youngsters to emulate, it makes sponsors want to get involved with the game, it gives a feelgood factor throughout the sport," said Lamb."Although we had some reverses I like to think we laid the foundations and although sadly 2005, the famous Ashes victory, was after we'd left, people kindly said that we'd laid the foundations for that and we ought to accept some of the credit for what happened."Lamb is also concerned about the number of injuries affecting current England cricketers, especially pace bowlers, and believes it is vital that a "happy balance" should be found between playing and resting."I was talking to somebody while watching a match yesterday and we were saying 'why is it that all the England fast bowlers seem to get so many injuries?'" he said."It can't be from over-playing, is it from overtraining, overdoing it in the gym? And the chap I was talking to said 'no, [it's because] they don't play enough cricket'."I think he's got a point. (Ex-England cricketer) Alec Bedser said you only get fit for cricket by bowling and I think there's some truth in that. As a bowler, there is a certain type of fitness that you need, it's a rhythmical thing. "Yes, it's good to have more time to rest and recuperate, more coaching, but if you compare the amount of cricket they play now with the amount we played back in the 1970s and early 80s, it bears no resemblance." 'The domestic schedule is a mess' Despite concerns about the amount of cricket, and travelling involved, during the English season, Lamb wants the current 18 counties to remain."There were people around me who said we've got far too many counties and if you were starting from scratch there's no way you would have, for instance, Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Northants, but the fact is we did and each of the counties is a centre of excellence," he said. "They don't just play competitive professional county cricket, they provide coaching opportunities, they're a focus for cricket in that particular county."He added: "The domestic schedule is a mess but on the other hand I can understand why it's a mess because it's jolly difficult for the schedulers to be able to do justice to all of the different forms of the game and keep everybody happy."I actually did the fixture list for eight years before I got the top job at ECB so I know just how difficult it is to please everybody.
