Woman killed in Cartersville officer-involved shooting had arrest record
Investigators said Carrie Hall, 50, was shot and killed after refusing to put down a gun.

Arrest records show Hall was taken into custody by the Bartow County Sheriff's Office in January.
She faced multiple charges including theft by receiving stolen property, aggravated assault with a gun, terroristic threats and acts, and having a firearm or knife during commission or attempt to commit certain felonies.
Adrian Michale lives in Carterville. He told Channel 2's Cory James that he has 'never seen her around here.'

Michale said he was surprised to hear about the shooting near GA-20 and Conference Center Road.
'You never know what someone is going through, but obviously you shouldn't come shooting,' Michale said. 'I pray for everybody involved.'
The GBI said deputies and an officer repeatedly told Hall to put her gun down.
They said before she was shot, Hall drove to a home on Peoples Valley Road in Bartow County and fired her gun. Officials said the homeowner called police.
Authorities said the independent investigation is ongoing.

FBI Atlanta shuts down sites accused of providing pirated Nintendo Switch games, and more
The FBI Atlanta office announced Thursday that it had seized several online criminal marketplaces that were providing pirated of Nintendo Switch games, among others. According to the FBI, the agency seized the criminal marketplaces and 'dismantled the infrastructure of these websites.' Federal officials said the sites had been operating for more than four years, containing pirated copies of 'highly anticipated video games days or weeks before their official release date.' Anyone who goes to the sites now will see a seizure banner telling them federal authorities have seized the domains, which include and 'These domains hosted and facilitated access to the pirated video games. Anyone visiting these sites will now view a seizure banner that notifies them the domain has been seized by federal authorities,' the FBI said in their announcement. Chase ends in crash, causing heavy police presence on I-285
A police investigation has shut down Interstate 285 at Interstate 675 in DeKalb County. The DeKalb County Police Department and the Georgia State Patrol are on the scene. Cameras show some of the officers with their guns drawn. While the scene is still active, DKPD said a vehicle chase ended in a crash after a suspect pointed a gun at one of our officers. Couple killed in wine cellar mishap with dry ice as they prep for July 4 bash : reports
A Texas couple preparing for an Independence Day party was found dead in their wine cellar after being knocked out from a chemical reaction to dry ice, police said. Houston cops responded to the Avalon Park home on Friday night on a fatal 'hazardous material incident,' and found the married couple dead in the cellar, according to reports. The unidentified pair was allegedly getting ready to entertain when they were overcome due to a chemical reaction to melting dry ice, killing them both, KHOU-TV News reported. Police in Houston said a couple in the city was 'overcome' by carbon dioxide from dry ice in their home on Friday. KHOU The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said dry ice could be lethal if not handled and stored properly. Cornel Putan – 'There was dry ice being stored in the wine cellar,' Housing police Lt. Larry Crowson told the outlet. 'When dry ice melts, it turns into carbon dioxide [gas]. Unfortunately, it appears the two people who went into the wine cellar were overcome.' Dry ice is colder than frozen water and stays in solid form longer, but has a downside. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cautions that dry ice, which is carbon dioxide in solid form, is potentially toxic and should be handled and stored properly to avoid a lethal outcome. In its gaseous form, carbon dioxide can cause serious injury or death, the agency said. According to Fox affiliate KRIV-TV News, firefighters arriving at the Houston home Friday detected a chemical smell and had to don breathing apparatus to go inside, where the bodies were found. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
