Summer House star drops bombshell split at reunion five months after welcoming baby as cast left stunned

Daily Mail6 days ago

Lindsay Hubbard dropped a bombshell on Part 2 of the Summer House season 9 reunion Wednesday night—she and Turner Kufe have quietly called it quits.
The 39-year-old reality star, who welcomed daughter Gemma with Turner in December, revealed the breakup happened 'a few months ago.'
'We put our romantic relationship on pause for now,' Lindsay told host Andy Cohen. 'We are just focused on being the best parents we can possibly be to Gemma. We are coparents, we are an amazing team.'
The news left the cast visibly stunned.
'It is hard to tell,' Gabby Prescod admitted, adding, I wouldn't have guessed.'
West Wilson chimed in that he'd spent time with the pair just last week and 'didn't clock it' either.
'Yeah, because you wouldn't,' Lindsay replied. 'We are like the best of friends.'
She added, 'Even on the weekend, when we don't have our nanny and it's just the two of us tag-teaming being parents, we're out to brunch, we're going to visit friends.'
Lindsay and Turner—a doctor she briefly dated back in 2020 — rekindled things in January 2024 and announced her pregnancy six months later.
But while sparks flew at first, Lindsay admitted the two were simply on different pages.
She also praised Turner for being a better father 'than I ever could have expected.'
Lindsay added that Turner still sleeps at her apartment 'half the week,' but clarified they're not 'friends with benefits' and aren't seeing other people.
'We'll see what happens in the future,' she said, noting there's still a lot to figure out when it comes to parenting, 'my lifestyle, me being public, him being private. It's too much at once.'
After Amanda Batula praised Turner (who was not present at the reunion) for being a supportive father, Gabby Prescod called Lindsay's choice to end the relationship 'a mature decision.'
Lindsay and Turner's romance flourished after her high-profile breakup and ended engagement with Summer House co-star Carl Radke in summer 2023
'We've had discussions about it,' Gabby said. 'She was like, "Turner's such a great dad to Gemma, but he's not the person romantically for me."'
Gabby added that Lindsay was choosing not to 'make it work just to stay a family,' but instead hopes to 'find somebody else who can be the man for me and not the dad, because Gemma already has a dad.'
Lindsay and Turner's romance flourished after her high-profile breakup and ended engagement with Summer House co-star Carl Radke in summer 2023.
By July, Lindsay revealed she was pregnant with her and Turner's first child.

EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE: What Frederick Forsyth really thought about Eddie Redmayne's Day Of The Jackal

The shadow of the absent Harry and Meghan looms over Saturday's Trooping the Colour with the Sussexes' latest bid to steal the limelight from the King with an appearance at Los Angeles Natural History Museum where Meghan will be honoured as a 'native Angeleno'. This follows last week's Disney World photo shoot of their children neatly upstaging William's maritime initiative with David Attenborough. Charles's Canadian trip also coincided with Harry's appearance in China, Meghan's lifestyle brand was announced as William was speaking at the Diana Legacy Awards and in April the King's state visit to Italy had Meghan launching her new podcast and Harry's surprise Court of Appeal visit. Fingers crossed there'll be no twerking in Los Angeles. President Emmanuel Macron 's expected address to MPs and peers at Westminster next month provides a potential headache for Sir Keir Starmer in advance of Donald Trump 's state trip later this year. The US President was denied this honour on his first state visit after Speaker Bercow refused to let him in. So with many parliamentarians pressing to keep Trump out again how might the Government avoid a second snub? With September as the likely date, might he be asked to visit in the second half of the month when parliament is in recess? Frederick Forsyth wasn't impressed with Eddie Redmayne in the Sky remake of The Day Of The Jackal, but placated with a consulting-producer credit. 'And I got the royalties,' he told a chum rubbing a thumb against his fingers, making the universal sign of filthy lucre. Sir David Attenborough is unlikely to be on the guest list for Trump's inevitable state banquet in September. The reason? In the run-up to Trump's first election he was asked how to deal with him in The White House. 'Have we any control or influence over the American elections?' Attenborough replied. 'Of course we don't... we could shoot him… it's not a bad idea.' He faced death threats and an FBI investigation for his quip. Feverishly promoting her autobiography, Jacinda Ardern, who had a baby while serving as New Zealand prime minister, reveals that she asked the late Queen whether she had any advice on raising children. 'You just get on with it,' said the monarch. A put-down? HM clearly wasn't one of 'the criers, worriers and huggers' earnest Jacinda dedicates her tome to. Madness warbler Suggs, now slaking his camel's thirst for beer with non-alcoholic potions, provides a progress report on how his wife Anne is coping with his new found sobriety. 'She said she felt it was a bit like those stories recently, when they found out babies had been swapped in the hospital. She thought I've been swapped with somebody else since I stopped drinking.'

100lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton gives health update after 8-hour surgery as she admits she's 'terrified'

1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has revealed that she has finally undergone skin removal surgery as she opened up in a new interview on Wednesday. The star - who has lost a staggering 500 pounds during her weight loss journey - first shot to fame after appearing on 1000-lb Sisters alongside her sister, Amy, back in 2020. And now Tammy, 38, has revealed she has been approved for the long-awaited surgery amid her incredible weight loss journey. She opened up about the 'overwhelming' emotions she felt after 'working really hard' over the past six years to drop the weight to be able to have the eight-hour procedure. She told People: 'After six years and losing over 500 pounds, I was finally approved for surgery. I was just overwhelmed with excitement. I worked really hard for this, and now it's here. I'm pretty sure it was noticeable on my face how immediately shocked and then overwhelmed with joy I was.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to Daily Mail's showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Tammy traveled to Pittsburgh for her skin removal with plastic surgeon Dr. J. Peter Rubin at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the reality of the procedure hit her the night before. She said: 'I was really nervous for the skin removal surgery because I was really just kind of afraid of how I'm gonna feel looking at myself without the belly there. 'The night before my surgery, I was, like, seriously freaking terrified. I was even more nervous about having skin removal surgery than I was for the [sleeve gastrectomy] surgery because they're actually cutting the whole belly!' Tammy underwent her skin removal surgery on January 18, and during the 8-hour procedure, doctors removed 'over 15 lbs' of excess skin from her chin, arms and lower stomach. The star's complex surgery was documented on 1000-Lb. Sisters and during the season finale, all of her siblings were in awe of her transformation and praised her for how far she's come in her weight loss journey. Speaking on the show, after the surgery, Tammy said: 'It feels so weird not having the ball sack hanging off my face and my bat wings are gone too, I look down and there is nothing there in my lap now. 'It's going to take a little while for me to get use to seeing myself like this'. It comes after Tammy revealed in April that she's in new relationship with a woman. In the seventh season of the much-loved TLC series, pansexual Tammy and her sister, Amy are seen catching up their fans on their lives. She spoke about her new budding romance in a confessional preview of the series - and admitted she hasn't told her family yet. Tammy said: 'There's something I haven't told my family. Amy's not the only one that's been seeing somebody new. So have I... 'I have been seeing someone for the past couple months and it's going pretty well.' She then added: 'The person I'm dating is a woman. So I haven't told my family because my family's gonna have something to say about it. 'I think my family probably has more opinions than the world has a**holes because they be farting so much.' This is Tammy's first relationship since the death of her husband, Caleb Wilingham, who she married in November 2022. 'A few years ago I came out as pansexual but after Caleb passing, I just don't want to be with men anymore,' Tammy said later in the preview clip. 'I don't know how my family is going to react when I tell them I'm seeing a woman.' Tammy's husband Caleb died from unknown causes at age 40 - just seven months after the couple tied the knot in November 2022. Last year Tammy opened up about the moment she found out that Caleb had passed away. During an interview with People, Tammy revealed a friend of Caleb's told her over text message that her husband wasn't doing well - before he informed her just 20 minutes later that he had died. At the time, Tammy was at her home in Kentucky and Caleb was at the Ohio rehab facility she had previously been at with him. 'I was sitting in the fetal position,' she told the publication. 'I got a text message from his friend up there and the text said, 'Caleb's not doing good. They're in there working on him.' 20 minutes later he texted me back and said he was gone.' The TLC star also said she had been 'doing fairly well' getting through the tragedy, and had even made a ring and musical note-shaped necklace with the ashes of her late husband. She had grown attached to the jewelry and finds comfort knowing a piece of him remains with her. 'He's going to live on now forever because his memory is encapsulated,' Tammy said. 'Knowing that he's with me, it's helping me pass the day. I find myself grabbing my necklace and holding it a lot. When I take off my jewelry, I feel like it's weird, separation anxiety. I start panicking.' Watching Caleb on their show has also provided her with some joy: 'Every time I miss him, I can always look back at the show and watch it and see what made me happy again.'

Love Island launches with smallest audience since 2016 in blow to ITV - but still trounces latest All Star series

Love Island has launched with its smallest audience since 2016 in a blow to ITV - but is still trouncing the ratings of the last All Star series. The ITV2 dating show returned to our screens on Monday night, with presenter Maya Jama welcoming 12 new Islanders to the villa in Mallorca to find love. The launch episode pulled in 1.4million viewers across all devices - up on the launch of the All Stars spin-off featuring former contestants in January. This makes it the channel's biggest show of the year. But despite this, the viewing figures for this year's series - the tenth anniversary instalment of the show - are a far cry from the ratings the programme used to enjoy. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The second ever series of Love Island, in 2016, pulled in just 825,000 terrestrial viewers for its launch episode, at 9pm on a Monday in May, Broadcast Now reports. But while this year's opening episode pulled in 1.4million across all devices, it only attracted 1.2million terrestrial viewers at its peak. This terrestrial figure is well above both the numbers for 2016 and the slot average, of 357,000 people. And it easily beats the second series of Love Island: All Stars earlier this year, which reached 760,000 terrestrial viewers during its launch on a Monday in January. But it still falls considerably short of the kinds of terrestrial ratings launch episodes have tended to enjoy in recent years. The opening episode in 2023 attracted 1.3million of these kinds of viewers - while last year's launch boasted a whopping 1.6million people tuning in on TV. Though the 2024 launch did inconveniently clash with a friendly match between England and Bosnia & Herzegovina on Channel 4, it was simulcast on ITV1 and ITV2. The decline in the show's terrestrial ratings could well be explained by more audiences turning to streaming as time goes on. Monday's launch was, however, a win for the broadcaster in terms of attracting younger audiences. The opening episode pulled in the biggest 16-to-34-year-old audience of all programmes across ITV's channels that day, with 364,000 people of those ages tuning in. Since its launch in 2015, Love Island has been streamed a whopping 2billion times to date on ITVX. Despite only two episodes of this year's series of the programme having aired so far, viewers already have strong feeling about the latest batch of Islanders. Fans slammed 'nasty mean girls' among the women in the cast as they 'alienated' single Shakira Khan for flirting with the boys during last night's episode. ITV2 viewers were left shocked by the 'b****y' girls' behaviour as they chatted around the fire pit - excluding Shakira and American bombshell Toni. The girls complained: 'Shakira has spoken to every Tom Dick and Harry. I don't think I've done enough.' Megan said: 'Shakira has been grafting her f***ing a*** off today.' Helena added: 'I think she fancies everyone, doesn't she? She even fancies the plants. I should have grafted today, I should have kissed him.' Shakira picked up on the 'bad vibes' and told Toni she felt 'singled out' but pointed out there was nothing stopping the other girls grafting too. She said: 'Getting ready then, the vibes were so off and I can't say anything as nothing has really been said but the energy, everyone's thinking like, "Have they done enough?" 'The girls don't appreciate that I'm grafting. We have all been here a day, like, you can do it too. 'It has rubbed people up the wrong way and I've been singled out as the threat. You get in as much as you get out.' Fans rushed to X to call out the girls for 'alienating' Shakira, questioning if they had ever watched the show - on which 'grafting' is normal. They wrote: 'The twist that has made Shakira have to graft has made the other girls alienate her which is so nasty. This is LOVE Island, you can all graft too! Nobody wants to work anymore!; 'What's this shade towards Shakira? "She's spoken to every Tom, Dick and Harry". DUHHHHH This is Love Island; 'Ew these blondes getting b****y about Shakira getting to know the boys, LIKE WHAT LOVE ISLAND IS FOR.' Love Island is available to watch on ITV2 and to stream on ITVX.
