Secrets We Keep – Season 1 Episode 6 Recap, Review & Ending Explained
Oscar
Episode 6 of Secrets We Keep starts with Katarina removing the nanny cam in Ruby's room and checking the contents.
Meanwhile, Cecilie calls Aicha over and shows her the broken window. Cecilie thinks Katarina broke the window. She tells Aicha about the video thread, the mysterious video and Oscar's threats to Viggo.
Unfortunately, Aicha can't investigate without an official report. She asks Cecilie to report Oscar for giving sexual material to a minor. Aicha is hoping she can get a warrant and seize Oscar's devices.
Does Cecile report Oscar?
Cecilie follows Aicha's advice and reports Oscar. Aicha quickly gets a warrant and executes it. Unfortunately, Katarina had already cleared everything in Ruby's room. The police are unable to find any damning evidence in the family's devices.
Katarina figures out that Cecilie reported Oscar and confronts her. She brings up Cecilie's post-partum depression as she tries to justify her parenting skills. Cecilie has enough and insists that Viggo tells her what was in the video.
Meanwhile, the DNA test for Rasmus has a slight match with the foetus. The police realise that Rasmus is the child's grandfather. This means Oscar raped Ruby.
Back at the house, Cecilie tells Angel the truth after hearing from Viggo. She calls Mike and asks him to come home. Mike arrives to find Oscar in the house.
According to Oscar, he didn't do anything wrong. Ruby was paid to be his au pair, and he thinks this means she had to like and obey him. Cecilie tells him it was wrong, and Mike walks him home.
What happens to Oscar?
Given that he is the son of a billionaire, we pretty much know what happens. Rasmus accuses Katarina of failing as a mom, then calls in the lawyers to clean up his son's mistakes.
Leading the charge is Mike, who refuses to listen to Cecilie's plea to drop Rasmus as a client.
Without evidence, Rasmus and his lawyers decide to turn the tables on Ruby. They plan to make Ruby the instigator and make it look like she groomed a minor.
Cecilie tries to convince Mike to do the right thing, but he refuses. He doesn't want Viggo to go through a long legal process where it will be his word against Oscar's.
The police also refuse to look deeper into the matter, as it is a dead end. Aicha continues investigating, as she doesn't think Ruby killed herself. She calls Cecilie and begs her to consider letting Viggo testify.
Sadly, Cecilie refuses. In the meantime, the community mourns Ruby and chases Rasmus and Katarina away during the memorial service.
What happens to Angel?
Cecilie unceremoniously fires Angel . She claims that she wants to spend more time with the kids. She is also scared that Viggo is in a dangerous phase of his life. He is a young boy, discovering his sexuality, and might get confused about his relationship with Angel.
Angel is hurt and tries to explain she needs the job. Cecilie brings up that Angel took money from Viggo and lied about her son. Angel is left with no choice but to leave. Viggo is heartbroken to see her leave.
How Does Secrets We Keep End?
Rasmus and Katarina decide that Oscar needs to go to a new boarding school. They invite Cecilie and her family to say goodbye. Mike convinces Cecilie that she should go, but leave Viggo behind.
Before they leave, Aicha calls again. She warns Cecilie to think about what her neighbours are willing to do to keep their secret. Cecilie apologises and hangs up.
On her way to Katarina's house, she runs into Oscar outside. He confronts her, and she explains that she blames his parents. Oscar reveals that Ruby and Katarina argued about the rape on the night she disappeared.
Cecilie pulls Katarina aside and confronts her about the truth. Katarina mocks her for being so naïve. She points out that the case is done, and Ruby is dead. She protected her son.
Cecile asks how Ruby died, but Katarina dodges that question. She laughs as she asks Cecilie to share her theories on Ruby's death. Cecilie is shocked as the truth dawns on her. The episode ends with her staring out into the sea.
The Episode Review
What is with that ending? We still have no idea if Ruby committed suicide or was killed by Katarina. Either way, things seem to have worked out in Oscar's favour because he gets away with it. His parents used their money and influence to save him from facing the consequences of his actions.
This kind of parenting is not what Katarina thinks it is. She and Rasmus think they are protecting their son, but they are raising a monster. In the last scene with Oscar, it is clear that he doesn't understand what he did wrong. His parents have assured him that it is okay. It is sickening.
It would also have been nice to see Viggo and his parents have a conversation about the video threads. The whole matter is pretty much swept under the rug. Where is the accountability on their part?
I wish this series focused on Ruby's story more. We never got to see who she truly was as a person. The show revolved around her, and she remains this enigma.
It would have been more impactful if the story had leaned more on humanising her.

Trump's FBI boss Kash Patel makes bombshell claim about video of Epstein's pedophile island
Kash Patel admitted that conspiracy theorists looking for more incriminating evidence from disgraced pedophile Jeffrey Epstein 's private island might be disappointed. The FBI Director took part in a wide-ranging interview with Joe Rogan where the host asked him point blank: 'Is there video from the island?' While Patel said that there was, he merely suggested that the footage is 'not of what you want.' Neither Patel nor Rogan would name names but suggested that 'what you want' is 'some guy or gal committing felonies.' 'If I had it, I'd be the first guy to bring this case hard and fast,' Patel claimed. He added that his team at the FBI has viewed everything they have been given lawful access to from the infamous island. Epstein's 'pedo island' aka Little Saint James in the US Virgin Islands was a focal point of his horrific child-sex-trafficking operation. It has long been believed that Epstein hosted a wide array of rich and famous clients at the island. Patel said that the bureau is doing the best that they can and encouraged anyone with information to get in touch. 'I got here 100 days ago. I can't be held to account for 20 years of failures,' he said. Though Patel claimed that his FBI will 'give you everything we can' he does have some boundaries set around Epstein's victims. 'Remember, we're not gonna' re-victimize women. We're not gonna' put that s*** back out there. It's not happening because then, he wins.' When Epstein first purchased Little Saint James, he paid $7.9 million. Epstein bought the island in 1998 and later made it his primary residence, employing a staff of 70 people. At the time of his death it was valued at $63.8 million. In the aftermath of Epstein's death, it was listed for sale for $125 million in 2021. In May 2023, it was sold to billionaire Stephen Deckoff who vowed to turn it into a luxury resort by 2025. Deckoff is reported to have paid around $60 million for the property as well as for Great St. James. Epstein's estate has said that any money generated from the sale of his properties would be used to settle lawsuits. The troubling past of Little St James has been widely documented in photographs, victim testimony and court cases against Epstein and his associates. Though Patel claimed that his FBI will 'give you everything we can' he does have some boundaries set around Epstein's victims Epstein - with help from his confidante and fixer Ghislaine Maxwell - trafficked many young girls to the island, where they were raped and abused. Photographs previously published by show young girls posing on the paradise island, or giving massages to Epstein while makes telephone calls. Maxwell is seen in other pictures being waited on by the legion of staff who Epstein recruited to manage the island. Epstein is said to have imported 200 workers after his purchase of the island to build a stone mansion, two guest houses, a helipad and a bizarre gold-domed structure that resembles a temple. The temple structure was built between 2009 and 2013 but it remains unclear what the building was for. Several of Epstein's victims have recalled the abuse and suffering they faced on the island. Prince Andrew has admitted he has visited the island, but always maintained he was not aware of Epstein's crimes and never took part in anything illegal. The island has drawn several thrill-seekers who've ignored the no trespassing signs to explore the property. Luke Rudkowski of We Are Change and Jeff Berwick were able to get onto the island and explore Epstein's office, a few of the underground lairs and get close enough to the pedophile's infamous temple on Little St James to reveal that the doors of the structure are in fact painted on the building. Rudkowski explored several underground structures, including one that appeared to house the island's generator. There have also been claims the island has its own subterranean tunnel network, though this has never been substantiated. Epstein's resort also include a ten-person shower for orgies, according to a maintenance worker. Steve Scully said in 2020 that Epstein installed the shower in a bathroom whose walls were covered with pictures of naked girls. Epstein had remodeled his bedroom several times and during these renovations he put in a 'ten-showerhead shower - for group showers', Scully claimed. 'There were more pictures in the bathroom than anywhere else – including of young, barely clothed or semi-nude girls,' he added.

A girl, 14, was in the middle of her workout at the gym before every mother's worst nightmare unfolded in the blink of an eye
The parents of a Florida teen are suing LA Fitness for negligence after their daughter was allegedly sexually assaulted by one of their gym members. Sean Brophy and Yanira Pohlmann filed civil suits last week in Miami-Dade County against both the gym's parent company, Fitness International, and the alleged perpetrator Richard Bosch. According to the complaint, 'Bosch committed an intentional assault, battery, sexual assault and offensive conduct on [the teen] without consent.' The young girl, now 16, only identified as K.B. in the complaint, went to the gym with a group of friends May 2023. Another gym member, identified as 22-year-old Richard Bosch, preyed on the teen by asking her inappropriate questions before he followed her into a workout area and molested her, according to the complaint. The terrified teen said she was able to break free from her attacker and run out of the gym. The panicked young woman immediately called her father who called police before retrieving her. Police arrived at the gym and arrested Bosch, now 24. He was charged with lewd and lascivious molestation on a child 12 to 16 years old. Through a plea deal Bosch pleaded guilty to felony battery and was placed on a four-year probation. In February, he violated the probation and was arrested for criminal mischief, as per NBC6 South Florida. Family attorney Evan Robinson of Leesfield & Partners told Daily Mail that the case shows a 'gross violation of basic safety standards.' 'What makes this case particularly egregious is this disturbing incident was entirely foreseeable,' the attorney said. 'LA Fitness knew that this assailant was a dangerous individual with violent propensities.' The attorney claimed Bosch was acting belligerent at the gym weeks before the attack when he was allegedly 'screaming at the top of his lungs challenging someone to fight him.' Also, Bosch had 'previously received a warning by the gym for similar conduct,' Robinson stated. 'All LA Fitness needed to do to from having this sickening assault from happening was to revoke this guy's membership,' Robinson said. 'But instead they didn't do anything to restrict his access to the gym and did not closely monitor the guy when he was at the gym. The complaint alleges that K.B. has suffered lasting psychological trauma from the experience and was required to undergoe extensive psychiatric treatment. Her family is seeking damages in excess of $5,000,000. Jonathan M. Midwall, one of the lawyers representing Fitness International, told Daily Mail on Friday that 'Fitness does not comment on pending litigation as a matter of policy.' The ugly incident began on May 30, 2023, when the victims father dropped his daughter off at the gym to work out with a few of her friends at around 8pm. The young girl's friends informed her that a man, who was later identified as Richard Bosch, was staring at her and asked her friends how old she was. Uncomfortable by what was taking place the teen walked into a boxing area to continue exercising. Bosch followed her into the isolated room - that reportedly had no working security cameras. He asked her how old she was and when she told him she was 14, he told her that he was 20-years-old when his true age was 22. He then proceeded to ask her inappropriate and disturbing questions such as, 'if she was a virgin?' If she 'had ever tapped out during sex?' and 'whether she had ever been with an older man?' according to the complaint. The panicked young girl tried to move away from Bosch but 'he cornered her and groped her genital area and buttocks,' as per the suit. Bosch proceeded to lift up his shirt and pull down his pants just above his pubic area to show the youngster that he had an erection, the suit alleges. The victim yelled out 'what are you doing?' as Bosch pleaded 'you're so tiny, you're so cute!' the suit states. According to the complaint, Bosch did not respond to her pleas and continued to 'grope her, pin her up on the wall, and proceeded to grab her by her inner thighs, near her genital area.' The victim ran into the next room where Bosch continued to physically corner her and assault her before she was able to run into the women's locker room to safety as Bosch stood outside of the locker room screaming her name, as per the suit. Surveillance footage captured from LA Fitness shows the young girl, dressed in a black hoodie and black bicycle shorts, walking quickly from the locker to the exit of the gym. Video shows Bosch reportedly grabbing her arm to prevent her from leaving before she yells out 'Leave me alone!' as many other gym goers look on, the court documents show. After the incident many witnesses provided statements to police. Robinson shared some of the statement with Daily Mail with one gym member claiming that 'Bosch was always around younger kids 14, 15 and 16 year-olds.' Another witness told police that he once saw Bosch 'corner' another young girl. While another member said that he was 'weird' and that he made his 'girlfriend feel uncomfortable.' Fitness International, LLC operates under the brand names LA Fitness, Esporta Fitness, City Sports Club, and Club Studio and has more than 700 locations across 27 U.S. states and Canada. In July 2024, the company acquired XSports Fitness 35 locations and expanding into the New York, Chicago and Virginia markets.

EXCLUSIVE Portuguese police brand search for Madeleine McCann a 'waste of time' as sources claim three-day operation in Portugal turned up 'nothing'
The head of the German force leading the fresh searches for Madeleine McCann told a friend who wished him luck: 'Thanks, we need it.' Rainer Grimm, boss of the BKA, Germany 's equivalent of the FBI, is in Portugal overseeing the search which ended yesterday. His apparent lack of confidence in the operation to his pal echoed what many have seen as the 'last throw of the dice' for investigators looking to solve the 18-year riddle. But sources close to the investigation said that 'only animal bones and bits of old adult clothing' have been found in the estimated £300,000 operation. One officer told MailOnline: 'We always knew it was going to be a waste of time but we have to show cooperation. 'What did they expect to find after 18 years? We were happy to work with them but we knew it would be a waste of time.' The head of the German force leading the fresh searches for Madeleine McCann (pictured) told a friend who wished him luck: 'Thanks, we need it' Convicted rapist and paedophile Christian Brueckner, 48, has been identified by German prosecutors as the man behind Madeleine's 'abduction and murder'. He was sensationally named by German authorities in June 2020 as the man responsible for Madeleine's abduction and murder, but he has not been charged – and the sands of time are running out. Brueckner, who has vehemently denied the allegations, is currently serving a seven-year sentence for a separate rape case and is due for release in September and has already vowed to leave Germany. As a result, it means prosecutors will have trouble bringing him to court should they charge him in connection with Madeleine's disappearance. His earliest possible release date is September 17 however that is unlikely as he will have to pay 1500 euro in outstanding fines from a series of motor offences to do so. But his legal team say he is broke and so a release date of January 6 looks more likely. Brueckner's lawyer Philipp Marquort told MailOnline:'I haven't had a chance to speak with him yet about the searches and I am not going to comment on what has been happening in Portugal. 'What I will say is that I don't think he will be coming out in September as he doesn't have any money to pay the fines because it went on his legal fees, so I can't see him leaving prison until early next year. 'He will probably see the news on the TV in his cell and he will talk about it when he calls me next time but I still do think when he is freed he will leave Germany.' Last October he was cleared of a series of unrelated sex attacks that took place in the Algarve between 2000 and 2017. Two years ago police also searched a dam close by for evidence but after a week-long operation nothing was found. Brueckner continues to deny any involvement with Madeleine's disappearance. Details of Mr Grimm's downbeat message came as the operation at Atalaia near Praia da Luz was brought to a close after three days. Permission had been given to search the derelict outbuildings on the scrubland close to where Brueckner used to live and where he previously to park his campervan until Friday Meanwhile locals expressed exasperation at the eyes of the world once again being on Praia da Luz with one business owner telling MailOnline: 'What on earth do they expect to find after 18 years ? 'It's been such a long time, of course everyone sympathies with the parents but it's gone on for too long now and to be honest no one here is convinced this German guy did it.' The German police team will fly back on a military plane due to pick them up today and which will also carry two vans brought with them. German officials said they would update the media on Friday or Monday if they had anything significant to say but the feeling was one of disappointment.
