Iranian army launches surprise military drills following IAEA decision

Tehran - Saba: Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri issued an order on Thursday to begin a series of military drills called "Eqtedar," with the codename "Ya Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him." The Iranian Army's General Staff Communications Center reported that Major General Bagheri offered congratulations on Eid al-Ghadir, explaining that the goal of these drills is to enhance the defensive and deterrence capabilities of the armed forces and assess their readiness. The center stated that these drills are being planned and executed in light of the change in the annual calendar of the armed forces and with a focus on enemy movements, according to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA). This decision comes after the International Atomic Energy Agency's Board of Governors adopted a resolution on Thursday alleging Iran's non-compliance with its nuclear safeguards obligations for the first time in nearly 20 years. Swedish FM: Israel committing war crime by starving civilians in Gaza

Stockholm – Saba: Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergaard said on Thursday that Israel's use of starvation as a method of warfare against civilians is prohibited and a flagrant violation of international law. During a press conference, Stenergaard added that depriving civilians of food, water, and medicine constitutes a war crime under international law, stressing the urgent need to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. She emphasized that "the situation in Gaza is catastrophic, and it is essential that food, water, and medicine quickly reach the severely affected civilians, most of whom are women and children, who are currently living in completely inhumane conditions." Stenergaard noted that "life-saving humanitarian aid must not be subject to political bargaining or used for military purposes." Last month, Sweden summoned the Israeli ambassador to protest the lack of humanitarian aid for civilians in the Gaza Strip. It is worth noting that the Kingdom of Sweden officially recognized the State of Palestine on October 30, 2014. With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has continued to commit genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the deaths of 55,207 Palestinian citizens, the majority of whom were children and women, and the injury of 127,821 others. This is a preliminary toll, with thousands of victims still buried under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and rescue crews. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

Israeli enemy arrests young man north of al-Quds, settlers graze Palestinian lands in Jericho

Al-Quds – Saba: Israeli enemy special forces, accompanied by Israeli enemy army forces, arrested on Thursday a young Palestinian man from the town of Kafr Aqab, north of occupied al-Quds. The Palestinian News Agency "Wafa" reported that an Israeli enemy infantry force, accompanied by military vehicles, stormed Kafr Aqab and Qalandia refugee camp, raided a number of shops, and arrested a young man. In the context of Zionist attacks against the Palestinian people, Zionist settlers grazed their sheep on Thursday on Palestinian land in "Shalla al-Auja" community, north of Jericho. Hassan Malihat, General Supervisor of al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, told Wafa that a number of armed settlers stormed Shalla al-Auja community, north of Jericho, and grazed their sheep on Palestinian land after seizing the citizens' fodder and pastures, preventing them from removing their livestock from the pens.
