dad, , who shares a heartwarming relationship with her, recently underwent surgery. The famed singer-songwriter was beside her dad throughout the procedure. Following Scott's recent medical treatment, Swifties are now curious about his condition and recovery.
So, what happened to Swift's father? Here are all the details fans need to know regarding the same.
Taylor Swift's dad Scott undergoes surgery
The 'Fortnight' singer's father, Scott Swift, currently 73, underwent an open heart surgery, specifically quintuple bypass surgery. This happened over one month earlier, and the singer stayed by her father's side throughout.
As revealed by TMZ recently, Taylor Swift's representatives have confirmed this news. The reports also state that this surgery was not a result of a heart attack. Rather, doctors found something during a checkup and decided to go forward with the surgery. As per the representative, the recovery is going great, and Scott is much better now.
Throughout the duration of the surgery, Andrea Swift and Austin Swift, Taylor's mother and younger brother, were also present with Scott.
Quintuple bypass surgery, also known as quintuple coronary artery bypass graft, is performed when arteries supplying blood to the heart are blocked. This is a complex surgery and often requires a long time to recover, but most individuals recuperate successfully.
Taylor Swift and her dad, Scott Swift, are pretty close, as is indicated by his multiple appearances at her events and his constant support throughout her career. Hence, it is not surprising that the Grammy-winning artist decided to stick close to her dad during this difficult time.
In 2019, the 'Anti-Hero' hitmaker divulged to Elle that both her parents are cancer survivors. 'I've had to learn how to handle serious illness in my family… It's taught me that there are real problems and then there's everything else,' she said.
Given the pop icon being busy tending to her family, she and her reps have yet to comment more on her father's health.

Petunia Wins the Ugliest Dog Contest by Being Loved, Not by Looking Perfect

She does not stand in triumph. She does not strut. Instead, Petunia rides in someone's arms, her small, hairless body balanced against a loop of pink leash. Fairground trophies shine behind her, but she looks away, folds of skin settling like soft hills along her neck. Petunia, a 2-year-old hairless English-French bulldog mix from Eugene, Ore., arrived at the Sonoma County Fair in Santa Rosa, Calif., not as a polished show dog but as herself. The World's Ugliest Dog Contest, a decades-old tradition meant to promote the adoption of dogs and remind people that 'pedigree does not define the pet,' has never sought perfection. In this competition, the missing fur, the misaligned teeth, the eyes that wander in different directions — they are not flaws, but badges of honor. Petunia was one 10 contestants that sought to join the reign of oddity champions from the past. In 2024, there was Wild Thang, remembered for a pink tongue forever lolling and glittering eyes set in a tiny head beneath a frizzed crown of brown-and-white fur. In 2023, there was Scooter, a glossy black jelly bean of a dog with a shock of mohawk-like hair. And in 2022, there was Mr. Happy Face, a Chihuahua mix likened to a hyena, a mandrill baboon, or perhaps a gorilla in miniature. But Petunia's story began far from the fairground. In Las Vegas, she lived in the chaos of a backyard breeder and hoarder. Rescuers from Luvable Dog Rescue in Oregon brought her north, where she got the medical care she long needed: a spay, and surgery to correct an elongated palate, a painful condition that makes every breath a chore. She healed. She learned to walk on Oregon trails and to curl into the nook of a couch. Petunia's owner, Shannon Nyman, could not be reached for comment on Saturday. Snuggling became a daily requirement. Today, Petunia is described as a 'gentle soul who adores other dogs, cats, and people.' She also learned that humans could be gentle, too. Contest organizers said their competition celebrates the 'imperfections that make all dogs special and unique.' This year, Petunia's imperfections will grace limited-edition cans of MUG Root Beer, a sponsor of the contest, and earned her $5,000. She will also make an appearance on NBC's 'Today' show on Monday. Petunia's real prizes came long before she was crowned the ugliest dog of 2025: the clear air in her lungs, soft blankets under her belly and the kind of love that does not depend on a judge's scorecard. The crowd will remember her as the champion. She will remember the arms that carried her home.

John Leguizamo torches Dean Cain as a 'loser' for joining ICE, but Superman actor offers gentle reply

Actor John Leguizamo slammed former Superman actor Dean Cain as a "loser" after Cain announced that he is planning on becoming an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent on Fox News's "Jesse Watters Primetime" on Wednesday. The "Moulin Rouge!" actor posted a video to his Instagram account on Friday, torching Cain's decision to join ICE and calling the former "Superman" star a "moron." "What kind of loser volunteers to be an ICE officer?" Leguizamo questioned. "What a moron. Dean Cain, your pronouns are has/been." The actor responded to Leguizamo's criticisms of him on X, issuing a gentle reply to the "Ice Age" actor's harsh words. "He's a good actor— I like his stuff," Cain posted in response to an article from The Hollywood Reporter detailing Leguizamo's criticisms of him. Cain rose to fame in the 1990s with his performance as Clark Kent on the TV show "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman." During an interview with Fox News Digital, the "Superman" actor explained that his motive to join ICE is the same as when he decided to get involved in law enforcement nearly a decade ago — to protect and serve the American people. "Our ICE agents, who are amazing men and women, are incredible. And they're black, and they are brown and green and yellow and Japanese and whatever. They're a cross-section of Americans," he told Fox News Digital. "They are doing their job, the job that Congress wrote the laws for them to support and uphold, and they're doing the job of deporting people who are here illegally. "If you're a legal citizen here in this country, no worries, you're great, but if you're here illegally, you've broken the law to begin with, whatever the circumstances are. You had multiple opportunities to self-deport, and the fact that these men and women who are doing their jobs are getting vilified, I had to stand up with them and for them because I think it takes people standing up to change the culture," Cain said. As noted by The Hollywood Reporter, Cain recently made headlines for his critical take on James Gunn's adaptation of "Superman," expressing concern over the director's comments claiming that "Superman is the story of America … an immigrant that came from other places and populated the country." "How woke is Hollywood going to make this character?" Cain asked during an interview with TMZ. "How much is Disney going to change their Snow White? Why are they going to change these characters to exist for the times?"
