Congress blames RSS for institutional collapse, cites ₹14 crore scam in history council

Congress
on Monday alleged there is a systematic infiltration of the
RSS
into professional institutes which are being destroyed, while citing "irregularities" in the Indian Council of Historical Research which are being probed by the CVC.

said, "Since May 2014, there has been a systematic infiltration of the RSS into professional institutions. One such example is the Indian Council of Historical Research."
"Now these activists stand indicted by no less a body than the
Central Vigilance Commission
(CVC) for financial misdeeds. It is a Rs 14 crore scam, which for the ICHR is a big amount," he alleged.

He said there is no equivalence between terrorists and their victims. "There is no equivalence between a country that provides safe haven to terrorism, and a country that's a flourishing multi-party democracy that's trying to get on with its business," he said. "There is no equivalence between a state that is a status quo power that just wants to be left alone by its neighbours, where the neighbours don't agree with us, and a revisionist power that wants to upset the geopolitical arrangements that have existed for the last three-quarters of a century. There is no equivalence possible in these cases, and in these circumstances, to suggest that you can mediate between two unequals is not possible, Tharoor added. Top Naxal leader Bhaskar killed in encounter in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur
Top Naxalite leader Bhaskar, who carried a cumulative bounty of Rs 45 lakh, has been killed in an encounter with security forces in Indravati National Park area in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Friday, a senior police official said citing "preliminary identification of body". The encounter was part of the same anti-Naxal operation underway since Wednesday by personnel from the state police's Special Task Force (STF) and District Reserve Guard (DRG) as well as the CRPF's specialised unit CoBRA, Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range Sundarraj said. Referring to the Constitution, he said, it is not merely a 75-year-old book, but a collection of thoughts and philosophy of thousands of years. "The Constitution embodies an ancient philosophy — the thoughts of Lord Shiva, Buddha, Mahatma Gandhi, Dr Ambedkar, Periyar, Narayana Guru, and Basavanna", he said, while adding, "This ideological battle has been going on for thousands of years as on one side stands Mahatma Gandhi and on the other, Godse". Gandhi said, once the caste census is conducted properly, it will not just be an X-ray but an MRI, leading to a new paradigm of development. "The beginning will be made from Bihar; you have been doing it for thousands of years and you will do this also as this is in your DNA", he remarked amidst thundering applause.
