The M5 is closed in both directions in Somerset after a "serious collision". The crash took place between junction 24 for Bridgwater and junction 25 for Taunton which was first reported shortly after 15:00 GMT.Avon and Somerset Police is leading the response to the incident, with National Highways assisting in traffic management.The closure is expected to remain in place until further notice. Diversions are in place.
Highways England is urging motorists to allow extra time for their journeys and consider alternative routes.
