Wings Release Paige Bueckers' Teammate on Tuesday
Rookie center Aaronette Vonleh has officially been waived by the Wings, the team announced on X.

Despite Vonleh's standout lone season at Baylor, where she averaged 14.9 points on 58.5% shooting and earned Second‑Team All‑Big 12 honors, the Wings opted to trim their frontcourt depth ahead of the May 15 roster deadline.
The 21‑year‑old Vonleh, selected 31st overall in April's draft, will now seek opportunities elsewhere or overseas after Dallas cleared her roster spot.
Dallas closed the 2024 campaign at 9-31, finishing with their worst winning percentage since 2011.
With new general manager Curt Miller and head coach Chris Koclanes installed, the Wings shook up their strategy by winning the draft lottery and selecting Bueckers first overall.

Bueckers arrives in Dallas as one of the most decorated college players in history.
A 2025 NCAA champion, she collected every major national award, including the Wade Trophy, Naismith, Wooden, and AP Player of the Year.
Bueckers was a three‑time unanimous All‑American and averaged 19.9 points, 4.6 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.1 steals in her senior season.

In her preseason debut on May 2, Bueckers posted 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist in a loss to the Las Vegas Aces.
While immediate playoff contention remains a stretch, the Bueckers-Ogunbowale pairing provides a compelling foundation for growth in 2025.

Senior Bowl 300 watch list features 10 Oklahoma Sooners
The organizing body for the Senior Bowl announced the first pool of 300 players who qualify for inclusion for this year's game at the end of the season, and 10 Oklahoma Sooners were included on the list. The Sooners were headlined by quarterback John Mateer, who qualifies despite being a junior, because he previously redshirted and qualifies as being eligible for the NFL draft. Mateer is set for his first season in Norman after leading the FBS in total touchdowns last year at Washington State, throwing for 29 and running for another 15 scores. Mateer also made the initial watch lists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, and several other postseason awards. Joining Mateer as a Senior Bowl honoree on the offensive side of the ball were wide receiver Deion Burks and running back Jaydn Ott. Ott is also entering his first year with OU after transferring from California-Berkeley, where he was a first-team All-Pac 12 running back two seasons ago before injuries stifled his production in 2024. Burks transferred from Purdue ahead of the 2024 season and was on the verge of a breakout last year, catching 31 passes in just five games before injuries took their toll, as well. Defensively, seven Sooners made the list. Four of those seven play on Oklahoma's defensive line. That group is led by defensive end R Mason Thomas. Thomas was named preseason All-SEC second-team by the league's media over the summer and All-SEC second-team by the league's coaches earlier this week. The Senior Bowl also honored Marvin Jones Jr., Gracen Halton, and Damonic Williams. Among the second level defenders, safety Robert Spears-Jennings and cheetah's Kendal Daniels and Kendel Dolby made the 300. Spears-Jennings is Oklahoma's leading returning tackler after registering 66 stops last year. Dolby was a starter two seasons ago and had 49 tackles, including five for loss, and two interceptions. Last year, Dolby was limited to just five games after suffering a dislocated ankle. This is the first year the Senior Bowl has released its top 300. In years past, initial lists included 850 players. Kip Lewis is the most notable player missing from the list. The weakside linebacker is in going into his fourth season with the Sooners and has been an impact player over the last two years. He has a year of eligibility after this year, so he could return to Oklahoma for 2026. There's still time for players to play their way into consideration for inclusion into the Senior Bowl. Keldric Faulk and Cam Coleman named to All-SEC First Team
A pair of Auburn Tigers received spots on the All-SEC Preseason First Team this week. Wide receiver Cam Coleman and defensive lineman Keldric Faulk were both named to the 29-man squad by coaches in the conference. It is the first time either Tiger has been named to the preseason First Team in their respective careers. Heading into just his second season on the Plains, sophomore wide receiver Cam Coleman joined fellow second-year pass catcher Ryan Williams (Alabama) on the All-SEC First Team. Coleman had a see-saw start to his college career due in large part to injuries and a carousel, which essentially operated as a ring of fire, at the quarterback position, but found enough balance to finish his inaugural college football season strong with over 300 yards and 5 touchdowns in his final three games. The former five-star recruit ended his freshman campaign with 37 receptions, 598 yards, and a team-high 8 receiving touchdowns. A native of Phenix City, Alabama, Coleman is still just 19 years old heading into a season in which he has a chance to play himself into the Heisman Trophy conversation. Keldric Faulk opens his junior season after an absurd accession into stardom during his sophomore campaign. Faulk was a beacon of ferocious, flashing, light in an otherwise cloudy season for Auburn a year ago. Sharing the title of best pass rusher on the team with senior Jalen McLeod, Faulk turned in 45 tackles, 7 sacks, and 11 tackles for loss. The Highland Home, Alabama native took up residence in the opponent's backfield weekly, earning standout performances against Georgia (2 sacks), Alabama (2 TFL and forced fumble), and Kentucky, when he won SEC Defensive Lineman of the wood. Auburn was one of six programs in the conference to receive multiple recognitions on the All-SEC First Team. Georgia (9) led the way with Texas (3) and LSU (3) finishing ahead of Auburn (2), Florida (2) and Alabama (2). Sixers star Paul George ranked among top small forwards in the league
Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George is one of the top players in the league when he is right and healthy. In his first season with the Sixers, George was limited to only 41 games due to a variety of injuries and averaged only 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists. However, George is only a year removed from an All-Star season in 2024 with averages of 22.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in his final season with the Los Angeles Clippers. When George is healthy, even with his age of 35 now, he can still be an impactful player in this league in an effort to help a team win big in the playoffs. HoopsHype ranked the top 26 small forwards in the NBA right now: So, although this ranking seems low for a player who will very likely be a Hall-of-Famer one day, factoring in George's injury troubles over the last year, along with the fact he's already 35 years old with a lot of miles on him, it's just hard to project an All-Star season being ahead for the former Fresno State star. Perhaps he'll prove us wrong, as George was an All-Star merely two seasons ago. Plus, when healthy, he's a top-notch tough-shot-maker and defender, as well as a productive rebounder and playmaker. But the fact that George will head into 2025-26 after having knee surgery this summer is just outright worrisome. The Sixers will be looking for George to bounce back and give Philadelphia the perimeter scoring it is looking for from the wing alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. If those three are ready to go, then the Sixers will be involved in any conversation for the Eastern Conference crown.
