Balakrishna Joins Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 In Key Role
Nandamuri Balakrishna joins Rajinikanth in Jailer 2, taking on a pivotal role crafted by Nelson Dilipkumar.
The Jailer universe just got mass-ier! After the smashing success of Jailer in 2023, which featured powerhouse cameos from Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar, Telugu fans had just one tiny complaint – where was Balakrishna or Chiru? Well, Nelson Dilipkumar has clearly heard the chatter, and this time, he's making it right.
Nandamuri Balakrishna is now officially a part of Jailer 2, and it's not just a blink-and-miss cameo either. The seasoned star is expected to play a pivotal role alongside Superstar Rajinikanth.
While details about his character are still under wraps, the buzz is that Nelson has crafted a powerful, action-packed role that'll give Balayya fans plenty to cheer for.
A source close to the film's unit told Hindustan Times that Balakrishna has nodded to collaborating with Rajinikanth in Jailer 2. 'It is true that NBK has said yes to a powerful role in Jailer 2. He loved what Nelson pitched to him and looks forward to shooting for the film soon. He plays more of a guest role in the film than a cameo because he wanted something solid, and Nelson delivered. Fans are going to love it," said the source.
Nelson had actually addressed the Tollywood representation issue back in 2023 during a chat with Cinema Vikatan. He revealed that Balakrishna was originally in the running for a role in Jailer, but things just didn't work out at the time.
He said, 'Balakrishna sir was in my mind, but I could not design and fit his character into the script properly. That's why I dropped it. I feel that in Jailer 2, if Balakrishna does the role I have in mind, it will be powerful. I will definitely approach him because I want him to play a deadly police officer."
Earlier this month, while promoting his latest Kannada film 45 in Hyderabad, Shiva was asked about Balakrishna's involvement in Jailer 2. He confirmed that Balakrishna has indeed been roped in for a key role in the highly anticipated sequel.
He replied, 'I don't know if he is acting in the film. I know I am in it because Nelson has confirmed. If Balakrishna is there, it's good because I've not worked with him, as in shared scenes with him. In Gautamiputra Satakarni, he's away from me. But we're very close, more like family, and he calls my father Chikkappa (uncle)."
Jailer 2 is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action comedy film written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. It is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. A sequel to Jailer (2023), the film stars Rajinikanth reprising his role as the titular character alongside Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Mirnaa Menon reprising their roles, with S. J. Suryah joining the cast. Shiva Rajkumar also makes a guest appearance in this film.

Deepika Padukone's Fans TROLL 'Manchild' Sandeep Reddy Vanga As She Joins Atlee's Film
Last Updated: Deepika Padukone's fans also lauded Atlee for showcasing her as a superstar in the announcement video. Deepika Padukone's fans have begun trolling Sandeep Reddy Vanga after the actress was confirmed for Atlee's Telugu film. Sandeep Reddy Vanga reportedly removed Deepika Padukone from Spirit as he couldn't match her demands. One of them was that Deepika allegedly refused to mouth Telugu dialogues. Amid this row, Deepika has signed Atlee and Allu Arjun's upcoming film, AA22xA6. Earlier today, the makers dropped an intriguing video welcoming Deepika onboard AA22xA6. The video promises that Deepika will have an action-packed role in the film. The video began with Deepika discussing the script with Atlee before they got on the set and started preparing for the movie's CGI-enabled action-packed sequences. Deepika was shown wielding a sword and riding a dummy horse for the film. As the video went viral on social media sites, Deepika's fans on Reddit trolled Sandeep Reddy Vanga. One person wrote, 'Yup, so it was never about speaking Telugu or 8 hours or remuneration. All those were lies? Guess we now know who the bigger liar was in this whole saga." Another wrote, 'Man child Vangu crying in the corner.' One person wrote, 'She has been the top actress for years. No Sandeep Reddy Vanga can make her sit at home." One fan commented, 'Deepika be like, 'Your move Vanga.'" Another wrote, 'Vanga must be feeling so irritated now lol." One person wrote, 'Just as there were rumours about her being ousted from another movie over her 8-hour shift demands, this is a knockout move. A statement made loud & clear. Good for her." Another wrote, 'Glad she chose to walk out of misogynist manchild's film." Meanwhile, in the caption of the announcement clip, the makers described Deepika as a 'queen" who is ready to 'conquer". Interestingly, this announcement comes as Deepika Padukone is embroiled in the Spirit exit controversy. There is also buzz that her demands aren't sitting well with Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin as well. While there is no confirmation on this yet, the chatter around Deepika's upcoming films has created a social media frenzy. Amid this, the actress's fans are praising Atlee for 'understanding" and 'respecting" Deepika's point of view and superstar status. First Published:

Without imposition, we will learn: Kamal Haasan on issue of imposition of language
Where does Kamal Haasan stand on the issue of imposition of Hindi in the south? "I stand with Punjab. I stand with Karnataka. I stand with Andhra," is his quick reply. The pan-India superstar's latest film "Thug Life", the 234th in a 65-year career, released in theatres this week amid controversy over his comment that Kannada was born out of Tamil. He refused to apologise and the film did not release in Karnataka. "I am the actor from 'Ek Duuje Ke Liye'...," Haasan told PTI during a recent visit to the news agency's headquarters, referring to his 1981 hit Hindi film about a Tamil boy and his romance with his Hindi speaking neighbour. "Without imposition, we will learn. Don't impose, because this is ultimately education and we must take the shortest route to education... and not put hurdles in its way," the actor said. The ruling DMK in his home state Tamil Nadu has long opposed the three-language policy introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP). The party has repeatedly accused the BJP-led NDA government of attempting to "impose Hindi", a charge the Centre has denied. Stressing that the imposition of a particular language only hampers the learning process, the 70-year-old said, "I stand with Punjab. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Discover Effortless Glucose Monitoring: Request a Free Trial Dexcom Try Now Undo I stand with Karnataka. I stand with Andhra. This is not only place which is resenting imposition." The Indian cinema stalwart, hugely popular in the south as well as in the north with films such as "Nayakan", "Thevar Magan", "Sadma", "Saagar" and Chachi 420" that bridged language divides, said if you are truly looking at "international breakthrough" you must learn one language. "And English seems to be fair enough. You can do Spanish also, or Chinese. But I think the most practical thing where the shortest route to that is that we have 350 years of English education, slowly but steadily. So when you suddenly replace it, it's all over again. You make unnecessarily many people illiterate, especially in Tamil Nadu. "You suddenly force all through Hindi and you tell them that you will not get your job beyond the Vindhyas, then you start wondering, what about the promises? What about my language? Am I not one of the 22 (official languages)? These are the questions that are coming." Tamil is one of the 22 official languages of the country, apart from Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Telugu, Urdu, Bodo, Santhali, Maithili and Dogri. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) had said it would not let "Thug Life" release unless Haasan apologised for his Kannada-Tamil comment at a promotional event in Chennai. His banner Raajkamal Films International filed a plea before the Karnataka High Court seeking protection for the release of the film, which sees him reuniting with Mani Ratnam after "Nayakan" in 1987. After a rap from the court over the remark, the producers said "Thug Life" will not be released in Karnataka.
