Car seized in Bradford after driver tried to hide from police
POLICE have seized a car in Bradford after it turned out the driver did not have a licence.
The Volkswagen was stopped by officers from West Yorkshire Police's Steerside Enforcement Team.
A spokesperson from the team said: "The driver of this Volkswagen appeared to be hiding, and tried a bit of ducking and diving before being stopped on Bell Dean Road.
"He had good reason to hide as it turned out he had no licence.
"The vehicle was seized and the driver reported."
Driving without a valid licence is an offence which is taken seriously.
It can lead to penalty points, fines and a driving ban.
Operation Steerside was formed in 2016 - two months after the Telegraph & Argus launched its 'Stop the Danger Drivers' campaign.
A dedicated team was set up three years later specifically to tackle crimes on our roads.

Murder arrest after man dies in street fight
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager died following a street fight in Bradford. West Yorkshire Police were called to the Newton Street area just after 14:30 BST on Friday to reports of a number of men fighting with knives. A 19-year-old man was found with serious injuries and died at the scene, officers said. The force said three other men have been arrested on suspicion of offences including affray. Det Ch Insp Dan Bates said: "A full investigation is ongoing into what has clearly been a very serious incident which has resulted in a young man losing his life. "A number of initial arrests have been made and we are appealing for witnesses and information, as we work to determine the full circumstances of what took place." He added there would be a number of police scenes in place during the evening and officers would be patrolling to reassure residents. Murder probe after man and woman found dead
A murder investigation is under way after a two people were found dead inside a home in Huddersfield. Jane Riddell, 61, and Lee Scott Riddell, 35, were found unresponsive at an address in Greenlea Court by officers on 3 February, with both pronounced dead a short time later. West Yorkshire Police said a murder investigation had been launched after a post-mortem examination determined Ms Riddell's death as suspicious. The force, which has only just released the details of the incident, said Mr Riddell's death was not being treated as suspicious, adding that officers were not looking for anyone else in connection with their deaths. A police spokesperson said an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding their deaths was ongoing. A Ukrainian rescue worker who rushed to the scene of a Russian drone strike overnight found his wife, daughter and baby grandson all dead in the rubble of their home. The three relatives — including mom Daryna Shyhyda, a police officer, and her 1-year-old baby — were among five killed in the drone strike in the northern city of Pryluky, which also injured six others, Ukrainian officials said.
