
Woman drowns, nephew rescued at RK Beach
According to reports, Vasantha and Sai Krishna were in Vizag to attend a wedding and had gone to RK Beach for a casual splash in the sea.
While in the water, they were caught in a strong current that dragged them deep.
Seeing Vasantha struggle, Govind rushed to help but was swept away.
Sai Krishna, though caught in the same current, was rescued by coastal security police and lifeguards and taken to King George Hospital for treatment. Police have launched a search operation for Govind.

Koppal murder twist: Pocso charges filed against slain youth, family
Koppal: In a major twist in the murder of 26-year-old Gavisiddappa Nayak in Koppal, the mother of a minor girl allegedly connected to the case, has filed a sexual assault complaint against the murdered youth, his father, mother and sister. Based on a complaint, Koppal police have registered a case under the Pocso Act . The woman said in her complaint that Gavisiddappa forced her 16-year-old daughter to be in a relationship with him and raped her multiple times. "When we tried to convince him, he threatened to kill us. Even his father Ningajja, mother, and elder sister questioned our daughter's character. Gavisiddappa kept blackmailing our daughter saying he had her private videos. He raped her for two years and his father, mother and sister knew about it," she said. Meanwhile, in a memorandum sent to the home minister and senior police officers, a group of Muslim leaders alleged that Gavisiddappa fled with the girl in Nov 2024, and she was later admitted to hospital after being raped. Though it was a medico-legal case, police registered a case under the Pocso Act, and their negligence led to the murder. Cop removed over bribery allegations
Kanpur: The woman police station in-charge of Mahoba was relieved of her duties and placed on line duty on Monday following bribery charges. Additional superintendent of police Vandana Singh said that a viral audio clip allegedly captures the police station head, Prabha Pandey, demanding a bribe of Rs 20,000 from an excise shop operator. During the Raksha Bandhan festival, it is alleged that Prabha threatened the shop operator with disorder due to the crowd at the liquor shop and sought money over the phone. After the audio circulated, SP Prabal Pratap Singh took cognisance of the matter, ordered an investigation, and summoned Prabha. In the viral audio, Prabal admitted to requesting a donation from the shop operator for a cancer patient. Subsequently, SP Singh removed her from her position and attached her to line duty. Murder accused injured in encounter with police after killing girlfriend
Noida: A 19-year-old murder accused was injured in an exchange of fire with Jarcha police near the Khatana canal in Greater Noida on Sunday night. The accused was on the run after allegedly killing his girlfriend a day earlier. According to the police, on Saturday morning, Jarcha police received information that a woman's body was found on the bank of the Samara drain. Police took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem. The woman was identified as a resident of Ghaziabad," said Sudhir Kumar, additional deputy commissioner of police, Greater Noida. A case was registered at Jarcha police station under section 103(1) (murder) of the BNS. The accused, identified as Rehan, a resident of Nai Abadi, Dadri, was traced and nabbed in an encounter within 24 hours, said ADCP Kumar.
