Seahawks sign RB Anthony Tyus, waive RB Donovan Kaufman
Seattle announced on Tuesday that the club has signed running back Anthony Tyus.
Tyus, an undrafted rookie out of Ohio University, briefly spent time with the Lions this offseason. He rushed for 1,215 yards and nine touchdowns in 2024, becoming a second-team All-MAC honoree.
As a corresponding move, the Seahawks waived rookie running back Donovan Kaufman.

SEATTLE (AP) — The Chicago White Sox placed rookie shortstop Chase Meidroth on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a right thumb contusion ahead of their series finale against the Seattle Mariners. Meidroth, who is hitting .252 with three home runs, 15 RBIs and 11 stolen bases, said he will be shut down from swinging for 'a few days.' He hasn't registered an at-bat since July 30 against the Phillies, when he was hit by a Taijuan Walker sinker in the fifth inning of Chicago's game against Philadelphia. Teague originated the feud on his podcast by calling the former Hawkeye legend and Fever cornerstone guard "she's good, but she's not that good" when comparing Clark against some of the other premier stars throughout the WNBA. "I don't agree with Jeff Teague, who I read something today said that, 'Caitlin Clark, well, she's just a good player. She's not a great player.' Jeff, I love you. You weren't a great player, okay. You were serviceable. I know you made the All-Star team one time. "I'm sorry, if we're going to be honest, I'm happy for your career, (but you were serviceable)," Lieberman remarked. As fierce as Leiberman's statement may appear, Teague's career numbers generally support her rebuttal. In Teague's 12-year NBA career, which included seven seasons with the Atlanta Hawks, he averaged just 12.2 points and 5.6 assists per game while shooting 44.4% from the floor, 36.0% from 3-point range, while making one career NBA All-Star Game appearance in the 2014-15 campaign. While the career stat line allowed Teague to serve as a starter throughout his career, he was rarely ever considered a part of the NBA's group of premier players. On the other hand, Clark was the WNBA Rookie of the Year in 2024 and has already been a two-time All-Star as well as an All-Star Game team captain. Clark will miss her ninth straight regular season game on Thursday night when the Fever travel to the Phoenix Mercury. Indiana's Aug. 22 matchup against the Minnesota Lynx was the contest ESPN's Holly Rowe suggested might be an ideal return date given it is preceded by a four-day break. Clark needs to get healthy, but the 6-foot guard will have the opportunity to silence her critics once she returns. If the Guardians project an early decline from their outfielder, they could look to take advantage of the two remaining years of team control and load up their farm system in an offseason deal. Kwan was sought after by the San Diego Padres, per reports, but after trading for Mason Miller, the Padres had already dealt Leo De Vries, baseball's No. 3 prospect, who was the headliner the Guardians were asking for. This stalled conversations with San Diego and the Guardians had to move on, ultimately keeping their outfielder. The Guardians' intentions for the winter are unclear, but if they believe their championship window is closing, Kwan may be on the trading block. The Detroit Tigers have a stranglehold on the division this season, and with much of their core on multi-year contracts, they could be in that position for a while. If Guardians indeed were shopping Kwan at the trade deadline, it would not be surprising to see rumors build once the season ends.
