‘Amazing Race' host Phil Keoghan reveals the most ‘physically insane thing' he's ever done
Phil Keoghan's one amazing race!
The New Zealand native is no stranger to traveling the world, especially while hosting 37 seasons of 'The Amazing Race.' Keoghan, 57, himself has had quite the adventure around the globe — with one in particular being the craziest.
'I did retrace a 1928 Tour de France on an original 1928 Tour de France bicycle that weighed twice as much as a modern bike and had no gears,' he exclusively told The Post at a fundraiser for the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter's Fund put on by the Television Academy Foundation last Sunday.

'I road 33 hundred miles in 26 days completely circumnavigating France. That was probably one of the more physically insane things that I have ever done.'
Along with the physically grueling challenge of a 1928 Tour de France, the television personality revealed the places that rank highest as his favorites.

'I love going home to New Zealand because I'm originally from there,' Keoghan shared. 'I love going anywhere new. Someplace I haven't been before. I've been back to India — goodness knows how many times. Literally 20 something times. I love Italy because I love food and the culture. What's not to love about travel in general? South America is awesome. I love Buenos Aires, it's an incredible city. I just love traveling.'
One place in particular he's looking to cross off the bucket list is a very chilly continent.
'I've got to get to Antarctica,' confessed Keoghan. 'I really, really do. I really, really want to get there. A lot of people talk about the Drake's Passage that you have to get through if you take a ship. If you go from New Zealand, it's a seven-hour flight or something like that, but I think the Drake's Passage would be a good one to tick off the bucket list.'

And when it comes to travel tips and tricks, the connoisseur has it covered.
'I say you've got to really plan for things going wrong. Getting stuck on a plane, and you've got to fill in time,' Keoghan told The Post.
'So take a good book,' he continued. 'Or make sure you take a camera, definitely a good one to have. Eye mask, earplugs. A layer to keep warm. It can get very cold in airports if you're delayed and stuck in an airport. But the most important thing would be just take something that can keep you occupied and just chill.'

Keoghan has hosted 'The Amazing Race' since the CBS reality television competition show's debut in 2001. The TV vet has seen people from all walks of life take home the $1 million dollar prize after competing on a 23,800-mile race around the globe.
'I have to say, if you look at all the winners on 'Amazing Race' they are all so vastly different,' he said. 'There's not a blueprint and that's one of the reasons the show works.'
Keoghan called the show 'unpredictable' and said the winners are 'varied and vast.'
'We really pride ourselves on having a really diverse cast in terms of really representing all of America, regardless of who people vote for, what their ethnic background is, who they chose to love, where they chose to live,' he told The Post. 'Whatever it is, we try to, as much as possible, show the audience all of America.'

Keoghan noted, 'We've been doing that from day one. Because of that diversity, you're going to get people who think differently, act differently, compete differently, and I think that's one of the strengths of the show.'
In 2023, the Emmy winner shared some casting secrets while speaking with The Post.
'I think the No. 1 thing is don't try to be like any other team that's ever been on 'Amazing Race' for a start. There will never be another globetrotting team,' Keoghan stated at the time. 'There will never be another set of cowboys … Every team that we've ever had on 'Amazing Race,' we try to cast because they're unique and they're different, and there's so much of that in America.'

'So my advice to anybody is just be yourself. And be enthusiastic,' he reinforced. 'And trust me, if you stick out like a sore thumb for whatever reason, and we see it's real, then you've got a good shot.'
'But there really is no magic formula because if you look at the difference between the teams and all the different teams that we have — what was that song on Sesame Street? 'One of these things is not like the other.' If you look at every single team, they're just so different. They're tall, short, black, white, old, young, married, not married, siblings, best friends. The dynamics are also different, and that's why the show works, I think.'

The 3️⃣ standout players from Spain vs England in Barcelona
The 3️⃣ standout players from Spain vs England in Barcelona asa Impeccable Olga Carmona Very reliable at the back and creating danger with her runs from outside to inside when she appeared in attack. She requested a substitution at the last minute, as a precaution, after feeling discomfort in the abductor of her left leg. The best on the field was Claudia Pina She couldn't have had a greater impact after her substitution in the second half. She gave Spain everything it needed: boldness, mobility, and danger with both feet. Advertisement Her double in just 10 minutes is unforgettable. The only downside, the defense Spain still can't manage to keep a clean sheet. Today they conceded in a play that could have been avoided if approached with the necessary intensity, and the match became unnecessarily difficult. Escaped Inmate Appears to Call on Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, YoungBoy Never Broke Again & Trump for Help
Antoine Massey is one of the two remaining inmates still on the run since allegedly breaking out of the Orleans Justice Center on May 16, and he may be looking for help from the president, as well as three rappers who have been entangled in the criminal justice system. A video that appears to feature Massey surfaced on social media on Monday (June 2), in which the man pleads with Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Donald Trump for assistance in his legal situation. 'So I'm asking, please for help. [NBA] YoungBoy, Meek Mill … People that been through the system that know it's corrupt. Lil Wayne, Donald Trump, please, I'm asking for help … When I get back in custody, I'm asking y'all please to come and help me.' He continued: 'I'm letting y'all know I'm not a raper, man. I'm not none of that. None of that. I'm a good person. I am a father that want to be in my children's life … I want to let the younger you know that going down the route of trying to be a street person is not the route.' Neither the rappers nor Trump have responded to Massey's video, which the Louisiana State Police has been made aware of. According to Baton Rouge ABC affiliate WBRZ, Massey was arrested in March on charges of domestic abuse battery and vehicle theft, and that he was also wanted for suspicion of rape and kidnapping in St. Tammany Parrish. At the time of his escape, he had not entered a plea yet. 'If the individual depicted in the video is indeed Antoine Massey, we strongly urge him to come forward and turn himself in to the proper authorities,' said Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson in a statement. 'Cooperating with law enforcement is in his best interest and may help avoid additional charges. It is important that justice is served appropriately and that due process is followed.' This isn't Massey's first reported escape either. According to local CBS affiliate 4WWL, Massey and five others broke out of the Juvenile Justice Intervention Center in 2007. He also escaped from Morehouse Detention Center in 2019. Orleans Justice Center maintenance worker Sterling Williams was reportedly arrested on felony charges for facilitating the May prison break. CBS affiliate KFVS12 in Cape Girardeau, Mo., reports that Williams claimed that Massey threatened to stab him if he didn't take part in helping the escape. The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office also said the inmates' jail break may have been helped by 'defective locks,' the outlet reported. Of the 10 fugitives, Massey and Derrick Groves are the final two inmates remaining at large. There's a $50,000 reward being offered for information leading to their apprehension. Billboard has reached out to the Orleans Police Department and the White House for comment. Michael Bloomberg bought his daughter a $4M Hamptons home
It's been a big week for Georgina Bloomberg — and she has so much more to come. Not only did the 41-year-old equestrian daughter of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg take to Instagram late last week to share news of her near-term pregnancy, but she also just became the new owner of an East End home. Indeed, she's the secret owner of a Hamptons waterfront residence located just minutes from her father's palatial estate, sources told Gimme Shelter exclusively. The May 30 beach house purchase comes as the billionaire heiress — also an animal rights activist and philanthropist — and her longtime love, finance whiz Justin Waterman, are about to become parents together for the first time. Advertisement '2 week countdown begins today. I cannot wait to meet you baby girl,' Bloomberg told her 100,000 Instagram followers. Bloomberg also shares a child, Justin — born in 2013 — with her former love Ramero Quintana, an Argentine Olympic show jumping rider. 16 Bloomberg is an accomplished equestrian. Rise Media The new home is on Cold Point Road in Southampton and comes with 100 feet on the water. It was last asking $4.29 million and went into contract quickly — closing for $4 million, according to records. It was an all-cash deal, sources said. Designed by acclaimed local architect John David Rose, the home overlooks Cold Spring Pond and Peconic Bay beach. The sale sets a new pricing benchmark for the Cold Spring Point Beach Community. Advertisement There's no pool at the house, but there is an outdoor shower — and a boat dock in the backyard. And if Bloomberg doesn't feel like meandering over to her dad's estate, her home has access to community tennis courts, as well as pickleball and basketball courts, along with beach access. But she can still bring the kids to see grandpa — and quite easily, too. 16 A screened-in sitting room looks to wide views. Rise Media 16 There's also space for patio seating. Rise Media The charming abode is just 'five minutes' away from her father's estate, which is known as Ballyshear. That ivy-covered Georgian mansion is 22,000 square feet and overlooks Peconic Bay. It was built in 1910, spans a massive 35 acres, and is adjacent to the National Golf Links of America in Shinnecock Hills, which has hosted many US Opens. Michael Bloomberg, a member of the club, plays there regularly. The size of Michael Bloomberg's estate makes his daughter's new home seem relatively tiny by comparison. Built in 2012, her two-story home is still a very roomy 3,000 square feet. Advertisement It features four bedrooms and 4.5 baths, and sits on one third of an acre. The home's open floor plan and large windows showcase bay and pond views 'from every room,' according to the listing. It all opens to a great room with a stone fireplace — and leads to a chef's kitchen, a butler's pantry and a dining area. The second floor features the primary suite with a covered porch ideal for morning coffee at sunrise. There's an additional 760 square feet of storage space in the attic. The listing rep was Douglas Elliman's Brenda Giufurta, who declined to comment.
