Pappas urges property owners to pay First Installment tax bills by Tuesday, March 4 due date
CHICAGO, Feb. 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- First Installment Tax Year 2024 property taxes are due Tuesday, March 4, Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas reminded taxpayers today.
The Treasurer's Office posted nearly 1.8 million bills online at cookcountytreasurer.com in early December and mailed printed bills to taxpayers in late January.
The Treasurer's Office accepts partial payments from those unable to pay the full amount. After March 4, any balance due is charged 0.75% per month, as required by state law. Illinois lawmakers in 2023 approved reforms championed by Pappas that reduced the interest rate penalty from 1.5% to 0.75% per month, or from 18% to 9% annually.
To make a payment or download a copy of your tax bill, visit cookcountytreasurer.com:
Select the blue box labeled 'Pay Online for Free'
Search by property address or enter your Property Index Number
Follow the steps as directed; you will need to know your account number and your bank's routing number.
You can also use the website to:
Search for $122 million in available refunds;
Check to see if you are missing out on $33 million in tax exemptions, which can lower the tax bill;
Read the Pappas Studies, a series of research projects that includes a 20-year history of Cook County property taxes.
Also, the office offers a free Payment Plan Calculator to property owners who are late paying their taxes for the second installment due later this year. The Calculator enables taxpayers who've fallen behind to budget their property tax expenses through monthly or twice monthly payments.
A short video tutorial is available walking taxpayers through the steps of using the Payment Plan Calculator in English, Spanish or Polish.

Kansas City Public Library awarded $500,000 to expand literacy, teen programs
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Public Library (KCPL) has been awarded a $500,000 grant to expand its programs, the Carnegie Corporation of New York announced Tuesday. The KCPL is one of 11 public library systems to receive a grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York through its Libraries as Pillars of Education and Democracy initiative – which is aimed at helping public libraries expand access to adult literacy and college readiness programs. This national effort builds on the foundation's renewed commitment to libraries as trusted public institutions that help reduce political polarization. New upscale beach-themed restaurant to open in Kansas City Power & Light District 'Andrew Carnegie believed libraries were ladders upon which anyone and everyone could rise, and that belief continues to guide us,' Dame Louise Richardson, president of Carnegie, said in a news release. 'At a time when trust in public institutions is fraying, libraries retain public trust. We are delighted to support these grantees as they provide essential programs and community services.' The KCPL was selected as part of an effort to help deliver critical services that promote socioeconomic mobility. 'Libraries are critical infrastructure in our communities – spaces that nurture learning, connection and possibility,' KCPL Director and Chief Executive Abby Yellman said in a news release. 'We are honored to receive this grant, which reaffirms the vital role libraries play in the ecosystem of community life. This generous support strengthens our commitment to expanding opportunity for all while fostering a shared sense of community and belonging.' The grant will be used to expand three of KCPL's flagship programs: Refugee & Immigrant Services & Empowerment (RISE) Teen Leaders of Today (TLOT) The Kansas City Digital Media Lab (KCDML) The KCPL said it established RISE in 2014 to connect immigrant populations with quality library services, resources and lifelong learning opportunities through outreach, education and advocacy. The program serves more than 3,000 patrons and offers more than 100 English language classes each year. The Carnegie Corporation grant will support the development of new multilingual courses to offer instruction that supports workforce certifications in high-demand fields. The KCPL's college and career readiness programs for teens and tweens will also be expanded thanks to the award. TLOT offers teens leadership and volunteer opportunities at the KCPL's branch locations. The Digital Media Lab, based in the Southeast Branch, gives teens access to a variety of digital tools and training in two broad areas of focus: media production and engineering. Potential Royals move to Kansas sparks mixed reaction in Overland Park 'Libraries are places where people build knowledge, skills and agency,' said Ambika Kapur, an education program director at Carnegie. 'This initiative reflects our belief in investing in civic participation—wherever people come together to learn.' Carnegie has been one of the largest philanthropic funders of libraries, from the early construction of libraries in the United States, to helping establish the endowment of the American Library Association, funding the nation's first graduate library school and digitizing archival collections around the world. Reddy launches the #1 simulation training platform at CCW Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, June 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Reddy, the AI coaching platform redefining how customer experience (CX) teams train and develop their agents, today announced the launch of their Reddy 2.0 at Customer Contact Week (CCW) Las Vegas. This marks Reddy's second year of sponsoring at the world's largest CX event, and the most advanced set of features ever released for simulation training across the industry. Reddy 2.0 introduces a major leap forward in enterprise training with fully automated simulation creation, enhanced cross-functional collaboration tools for L&D and QA teams, further security and compliance certifications, and a brand refresh that embodies the platform's vision: transforming customer service agents into high-performing all-stars. Agent Training in the AI Era While much of the industry has rushed toward automation, research has raised caution. A Salesforce study released this week found that AI automation of customer service drops to just a 35% success on any interactions that require more than one step to resolve. This comes on the heels of Klarna's recent announcement that their pivot to full AI automation needed to be scaled back in order to restore human agents to their support model. While working on solving the long-term challenge of creating the complex, multi-turn AI agents of tomorrow, Reddy has bridged the gap with automation of training for better human agents today. In conjunction with the launch of their new features, Reddy also today signed their largest partner to date with over 2K global agents, after having validated gains in new hire performance during an initial piloting period that resulted in a 38x return on investment. Reddy 2.0 Launch Reddy's new features and branding are all designed around connecting various teams within enterprise CX organizations, allowing them to work together more easily to create the highest impact training programs for agents. Automated Simulation Authoring – L&D teams can now generate tailored simulations entirely using AI, with the ability to drop in existing materials to create realistic sandboxes of their complex interactions and systems. Changes to training programs and SOPs can now take instant effect inside of simulations, with the ability to test, version and publish across large content teams. Enterprise Collaboration Suite – Reddy has developed custom-built Learning Management, Knowledge Base and Project Management Systems that all reside inside of the platform and integrate with other common tools. This allows teams to consolidate information and updates in one streamlined workflow, ensuring that agents are always armed with the most up-to-date processes and materials. AI Privacy and Security – This week, Reddy received their SOC 2 Type 2 certification to go along with their HIPAA certification and PCI compliance. Reddy prides itself on the ability to pair software with change management, and in working closely together with Infosec and Procurement teams to navigate evolving policies around Generative AI. "Reddy brings together every team inside the contact center — from L&D to QA to team leads — making it easier than ever to turn agents into all-stars," said Adam Levin, Reddy's CEO and Co-Founder. "Our new design represents those connections, with a dynamic arrow-based system symbolizing the connections we create inside of one platform, and the forward momentum that Reddy helps agents achieve. They're handling more calls with confidence, resolving complex issues at a higher rate, and delivering happier customers for the brand."
