'I tried the products in Lookfantastic's April beauty box - it's full of hydrating goodies'
Lookfantastic's monthly subscription box always brings a smile to my face when the postie delivers it to my door - who wouldn't love a box full of new beauty products to try for a fraction of what they'd usually cost? Worth £55, April's box costs £15 if you want to buy it as a one off or, if you sign up for a monthly rolling subscription for 12 months it's only £13.
Containing six products - and sometimes seven if the brand includes a complimentary gift, as it often does (beating that of Glossybox's five products per month for £13.50) - the box is perfect if you love trying out new products or simply wish to switch up your beauty routine. April's box is packed full of skincare goodies that'll leave your face, hands, body and scalp feeling super hydrated.
Plus, it contains a product that MUAs and beauty buffs swear by for cleaning their brushes. Fancy a bit more of a beauty haul? Lookfantastic's Travel Edit contains a whole host of sun-ready products worth £105 for £30 here, meanwhile M&S' Made for an Icon Beauty Box worth over £130 is currently on sale for £24.
Happy to spend a little more? Space NK's Everything Shower Edit is £70 and includes brands like Alpha-H, Sol De Janeiro, Living Proof and Aromatherapy Associates.
Here are my thoughts on Lookfantastic's April Beauty Box
Firstly, the products come packaged in a recyclable cardboard box bearing the Lookfantastic The Box logo. The box is filled with tissue paper to protect the products and add a touch of luxury. Inside the box comes five deluxe-sized products which are absolutely perfect for popping in your carry-on bag when travelling, as well as a full-sized make-up brush from Spectrum Collections - a brand I've wanted to try for a while.
Covering all bases, the contents of the box f eatures a L'OCCITANE Shea Butter Hand Cream, L'OCCITANE Shower Oil, Peter Thomas Roth Waterdrench Mask, The Nue Co Supa Thick Scalp Serum, ISOCLEAN Makeup Brush Cleaner with a Spray Top and full-size Spectrum A05 Blusher Brush. As a complimentary product, the brand also included a 1.2ml sample of the Mugler Alien Extraintense Fragrance.
With some of the products inside costing £10 and up, the box is well worth the £15 you'd pay - especially as the scalp serum is the exact same price as the full box. Although three of the products stand out to me personally, and are potentially the simplest ones.
Firstly the £4, 35ml L'OCCITANE Shower Oil. It's a best-selling formula for a reason, and having tried it before in a previous box, I have stocked up on it since. It smells glorious with a sweet almond scent.
Secondly, it transforms in the shower from a silky golden oil to a milk-like lather that leaves my skin velvety soft and smelling lush for some time post-shower. Thirdly, its size means it'll be a welcome addition to my wash bag on my next trip.
Next is the L'OCCITANE Shea Butter Hand Cream, worth £10. Quite simply, it does the job of transforming dry hands (I suffer with this quite a lot, especially on my knuckles) and has a lush smell of jasmine and ylang ylang to accompany it. It's fast absorbing too and doesn't leave your mitts feeling too greasy after application.
While this Spectrum Blusher Brush, full size, is only worth £8 on Lookfantastic, it's one I'd been wanting to try for ages but hadn't got round to treating myself. Knowing the hype around the brand and the celebrity backing, I wasn't surprised that the quality of the brush on my relatively sensitive skin was amazing. The bristles weren't harsh and didn't feel too stiff when applying blusher. In fact, they felt super soft and really flexible - something my cheaper brushes definitely don't have. Maybe it's the nudge I needed to upgrade my current makeup brush selection?
The ISOCLEAN Makeup Brush Cleaner with a Spray Top is another brilliant product inside the Lookfantastic April box. We're all guilty of leaving our make-up brushes for weeks on end without giving them a good old clean as, let's face it, it's a bit of a faff to do it with soap and water alone.
This make-up brush cleaner does all the hard work for you and is simple to use. Just spray onto some tissue - or the brush itself - and rub the brush on a surface you're happy to get dirty in circular motions and watch the make-up melt off your brush.
With just a little bit of spray on the tissue (as I didn't want to soak it, not knowing the powers of the spray), it cleaned my blush/bronzer brush rapidly and also showed me how much was actually stuck in the brush's bristles.
The only downside I experienced with the spray is that it does not smell that nice. To be completely honest, it has a pungent chemical scent that irritated my eyes a bit. But I won't ditch it just yet. I'll give it another go and be more careful when I spray it next time.
The Mugler Alien Extraintense Fragrance i s a great size to pop in your handbag on a night out but having had limited social plans since I got the box, I've not wanted to waste it on sitting at home - although having a quick spritz, the fragrance is divine with sweet vanilla and floral jasmine scents.
While I've not tried the Peter Thomas Roth Waterdrench Mask or Nue Co Supa Thick Scalp Serum just yet - waiting for a TLC evening - I'm excited for the hydration boost many shoppers who've got their hands on the LF box have praised. One person said: "First box and the face mask was my favourite, it left my skin so hydrated. the brush and brush cleanser were also very good too. would probably buy a bigger version of the face mask."
Another added of the entire contents of the box: "I love this month's beauty edit especially for Spectrum brush and L'Occitane. I will use all products." Although they did note: "Wish scalp serum was more to know the results."
Someone else found the box ideal for stocking up on travel minis and said: "Fab little box to look forward to monthly. Usually at least one full size product in each box! Perfect for a gift or for stocking up on minis while travelling."

Rare sale sees best-selling Carolina Herrera perfume plummet to better-than-duty-free price
Duty-free is the place to shop when you're looking for your favourites at a discounted rate - but this rare sale is rivalling the airport's price for this best-selling Carolina Herrera Herrera perfume If you've been looking to add a cult-favourite perfume to your shopping basket without spending a fortune, you're in luck. You don't have to be travelling through an airport to score a major discount, either, thanks to this limited-time Lookfantastic sale. This sale has slashed Christina Herrera's best-selling Good Girl perfume to a better-than-duty-free price. But you'll want to hurry; there's no telling how long this rare offer will last. A brand synonymous with its chic and unmistakable high-heel bottle shape, there's one flagship fragrance from Carolina Herrera that remains a firm fan favourite among shoppers. Coming in a sleek blue stiletto bottle, the Carolina Herrera Good Girl perfume —the original and first in a line of six fragrances under the 'Good Girl' title—normally comes with a steep price tag, around £100, depending on which retailer you shop at and the measurement you opt for. You can snag 50ml of this iconic perfume from Boots for £98, or from Lookfantastic for £78.40, down from £98. Or you can find a 50ml bottle currently selling for £75 on Amazon. But it's currently reduced to £53.60, rivalling the likes of duty-free prices, where the Good Girl fragrance was selling for £55 (30ml). The Good Girl perfume is a seductive blend of light and dark notes, embodying the captivating complexity of women. This strong and feminine scent is perfect for the modern woman, boasting contrasting notes that leave the wearer feeling emboldened and confident. The perfume combines the sweet, breathtaking, and alluring qualities of jasmine, which bring bright femininity, with the mysterious side expressed through richly fragrant cocoa. Exciting notes of Tonka follow, while almond and coffee bring notes of bold vibrancy, creating an alluring yet sophisticated scent that celebrates your good and bad sides. Notably, this isn't just about the perfume - its bottle makes it a gorgeous addition to your perfume collection, adding a splash of colour and a unique design that's easy to spot on any vanity. This cult-classic fragrance currently boasts over 2k 5-star reviews on Lookfantastic, where shoppers can't stop singing its praises. One buyer beams: "I've repurchased this perfume so many times - it's one that people always compliment me on so highly recommend." Another happy shopper shares: "I brought this perfume mainly for its eye catching bottle, and nice sweet almond scent, perfect for day to day or evening wear. Long lasting on the skin, receive many compliments when I'm wearing this perfume." Though one shopper does note their gripe with the perfume, noting: "The worst thing about this for me is the bottle, it's a bit of an eyesore." That said, they still give the fragrance five stars, going on to say: "But the scent is so sexy and really lasts. I get so many compliments when I'm wearing this." This satisfied customer shares the same sentiments: "I have a very large perfume collection, and this is one of my favourites. It's beautiful, perfect for a date night, and also for day-to-day use. I always get asked what I'm wearing every time I wear this perfume. Every girl needs this perfume." And a fifth writes: "This perfume has a beautiful, well-balanced scent. It's perfect for both daytime and evening wear. The longevity is impressive, and the sillage is just right—not too strong, but noticeable. Overall, a great choice for anyone who loves elegant and sophisticated fragrances."

This Is The Surprising Transitional Item That Chic Women Are Backing For Autumn - And It's Selling Fast
@@irynaa.h, @ictoriaanoell, @lizlizlive If there's one print that always feels synonymous with autumn, it's animal print. And right now, it's zebra that's dominating my feed, specifically, Mango's linen waistcoat, which I've spotted on some of the chicest women online. ©Instagram @victoriaanoell Normally, I'd shy away from animal motifs, but this piece feels different: elevated, sharp, and with just the right amount of personality. It's the kind of transitional buy that bridges late summer and early autumn seamlessly, looking as polished with barely-there sandals as it does layered up once the temperature drops. While the exact version making the rounds has already sold out, Mango has a similar zebra-print waistcoat that offers the same silhouette with an equally impactful finish. 1. Mango Zebra Print Linen Waistcoat Black & White Zebra print is stepping up as the new neutral for transitional dressing, and Mango's linen waistcoat is proof of its staying power. The halter neckline and subtle peplum cut give it polish, while the print adds instant personality. Wear it on its own with wide-leg jeans, throw it over tailored shorts for an easy city look, or go all in with the matching trousers for the full coord moment, the way the Instagram It-girls are already doing it. And when autumn properly sets in? Layer it under a leather jacket with a slip skirt and ankle boots for a look that feels sharp, modern and effortless. It also comes in a rich brown version, the one I'd personally gravitate towards, with a slightly softer spin on the print. 2. Mango Zebra Print Linen Waistcoat Brown Just as chic but more understated, this toned-down colourway is perfect if you want the zebra moment without going full statement. Think of it as the versatile alternative: just as easy to style with denim, tailoring or the matching trousers, but with a subtler edge that transitions effortlessly from day to night. If zebra isn't the only print catching your eye this season, the high street is packed with equally chic options. Here are a few we're loving, all easy to style and perfect for transitional dressing. 3. H&M Zebra Print Light Beige This long, fitted waistcoat from H&M is made from a soft woven fabric with a V-neckline, button-down front, and welt pockets. Fully lined and available with a matching midi skirt, it's a refined take on the coord trend, perfect for office styling or weekend layering. 4. AX Paris White Abstract Print Waistcoat Price: £30 This white waistcoat is giving us all the right modern vibes with its black abstract print and sleek, fitted shape. Layer it over jeans for a casual-cool look, or throw it on with tailored trousers for a desk-to-drinks outfit that actually works. One reviewer even raved, 'Perfect waistcoat which looked great with flared jeans. The fabric is good quality and great for the summer.' Honestly, it's the kind of piece that makes getting dressed feel just that little bit more fun. 5. River Island Brown Zebra Print Waistcoat A softer, fluid counterpart to the Mango, this waistcoat has the same halterneck charm but in a lighter, flowing fabric. It's less structured but just as chic. I'd style it over jeans for off-duty ease or with tailored trousers for a more refined city look. It's machine washable, too, which makes it feel both luxe and practical. 6. Oliver Bonas Leopard Print Scalloped Denim Waistcoat For those who prefer leopard over zebra, this sleeveless denim waistcoat is woven in a tonal brown print with bronze buttons and scalloped trims. Wear it alone or layered over a tee, or pair with the matching wide-leg jeans for a coordinated look that's effortlessly stylish. 7. ZW Collection Animal Print Blazer Not a waistcoat, but this ultra-chic Zara blazer is everything we've been dreaming of in a zebra print. Sophisticated yet playful, it elevates any outfit. Wear it over a slip dress for effortless elegance, or go head-to-toe with the matching zebra trousers for a fully coordinated look. Made from a luxe viscose and 21% linen blend, it feels as good as it looks. Details include a notched lapel, long sleeves with buttoned vents, front flap pockets, a chest welt pocket, and a double-breasted fastening, giving it structure and polish without feeling stiff.
