NBA Finals Features Unexpected Caitlin Clark Twist

NBA Finals Features Unexpected Caitlin Clark Twist originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Caitlin Clark has faithfully followed the Indiana Pacers' incredible run to the NBA Finals thus far. The Indiana Fever superstar has attended multiple home games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse throughout the postseason, and it would not be a surprise if she makes an appearance again once the series against the Oklahoma City Thunder shifts to Indianapolis for Games 3 and 4. Advertisement Clark, however, was not in Paycom Center in Oklahoma on Thursday for the series opener between these two championship-seeking sides. Despite her absence from the highly anticipated matchup, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year was still able to play a role in Game 1, albeit in a minor way. This is after Thunder guard Alex Caruso was seen wearing Clark's Nike Kobe 5 Proto "Indiana Fever" Player Edition for the first game of the series on Thursday night. Clark's "Indiana Fever" PE comes in midnight navy blue and features a yellow-red gradient fade on the Nike swoosh logo. The bright crimson red laces add a vivid contrast, as does the orange and yellow paneling on the heel. Advertisement Clark has worn this pair for a WNBA game, but the fact that it's made an appearance in the NBA Finals is definitely worth noting--especially since it was worn by a player on the opposing team. As of the moment, there is still no word on Clark's signature shoe with Nike. There has been a lot of anticipation from the fans, but so far, the sportswear giants have left her avid supporters to settle with her Kobe Proto PEs. Clark's signature shoe should come soon enough, and considering all the hype surrounding the 23-year-old, it would not be a surprise at all if those immediately sell out once they officially hit stands. Fever's Caitlin Clark taking quad injury rehab ‘day by day,' could possibly return Tuesday vs. Dream

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark said she could return as soon as Tuesday when Indiana plays the Atlanta Dream in its third Commissioner's Cup game. Clark, who suffered a left quadriceps strain in Indiana's 90-88 loss to the New York Liberty on May 24, is still taking her rehab 'day by day,' and said 'we'll see' when asked about the potential of her playing early next week. Clark said she will be re-evaluated this weekend, and she will remain inactive for Indiana's matchup with the Chicago Sky on Saturday night. Advertisement 'After that, it's day by day and see how I feel and just kind of turn to the medical staff and see what they think,' Clark said. 'I feel like I've made a lot of progress, and I feel good. I'm not going to rush coming back. It's not worth it.' If Clark were to miss Tuesday's game against the Dream, she would give herself a few extra days to recover ahead of a rematch against the Liberty on June 14. Clark, who addressed her injury Thursday for the first time since missing games in her professional and college careers, said she sustained her quad injury early in the Liberty game, but she couldn't pinpoint a precise play when the injury occurred. Feeling pain after the game, Clark underwent an MRI, which revealed the extent of the injury. Clark said she has learned 'a lot' while sitting on the bench during games. 'I've never been in that position of getting to watch from the bench for an extended period of time,' she said. 'I think you can learn the game of basketball the same amount. You turn on the TV and watch the NBA. Or you watch other WNBA games, that's the best way to learn basketball – just watch and absorb it. It's the same when I'm not active, too.' Caitlin Clark speaks with the media and provides a status update after the team's practice on Thursday. — Indiana Fever (@IndianaFever) June 5, 2025 The Fever have gone 1-2 in Clark's absence, struggling in losses to the Washington Mystics, whom they've faced twice, and the Connecticut Sun. Without Clark, Indiana's offense has looked stagnant at times. The Fever are also allowing almost 10 more points per 100 possessions on defense. Indiana coach Stephanie White inserted veteran guard Sydney Colson into the starting lineup in Clark's place, but Colson left last Friday's loss to the Sun due to injury and played only 16 minutes in the Fever's win over Washington. Advertisement Clark's injury has lengthened her MVP odds and led to a decrease in wagers on the Fever's recent games. Fever television ratings have also dipped. However, their win on Friday night over the Sun still averaged more than 850,000 viewers on ION. It was the network's largest audience of the season and marked a 119 percent increase over the comparable window last year, according to SportsMediaWatch. Clark's absence has also coincided with the start of the WNBA Commissioner's Cup, the league's annual in-season tournament. The Fever's victory over the Mystics came in their first Commissioner's Cup game, and Indiana's next four matchups — against the rest of the Eastern Conference — will all count toward the Commissioner's Cup standings as well as the regular-season standings. In addition to Clark, the Fever are without wing Sophie Cunningham, who suffered a right ankle injury in Indiana's loss to the Sun. Without Cunningham and Clark, the Fever signed guard Aari McDonald to a hardship contract. In 27 minutes against Washington on Tuesday, McDonald scored seven points and recorded a team-high five assists.

Tony Iommi Charts His First Solo Top 40 Hit Thanks To An Unlikely Feature

Tony Iommi joins Robbie Williams on 'Rocket,' earning his first solo top 40 hit in the United ... More Kingdom on multiple sales charts. Guitarist Tony Iommi is shown performing on stage during a live concert appearance with Black Sabbath on August 8, 2013. (Photo by)"n Tony Iommi is regarded as a god in the rock world, and has been for decades. He first rose to prominence as one of the founding members of Black Sabbath and, for years, he helped bring heavy metal to the masses with his signature guitar sound. While he's primarily known for his work with that group, Iommi does occasionally release music under his own name. The superstar scores a hit song in his home country of the United Kingdom this week by teaming up with a somewhat surprising figure. Iommi earns a top 40 hit on both the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales charts this frame. He joins Robbie Williams on the track "Rocket," which opens at Nos. 34 and 36, respectively, on those tallies, becoming a top 40 bestseller in the nation. It appears that "Rocket" is Iommi's first solo hit on both of those rankings. As a member of Black Sabbath, he's only reached the lists once, as "Paranoid" spent one frame on the rosters in August 2022. Of course, it's worth mentioning that these tallies didn't exist during the heyday of the heavy metal act. Iommi has landed more than one solo placement on the Official Rock & Metal Albums roster with his solo collections, but those titles didn't produce any hit songs across the Atlantic. "Rocket" serves as the lead single from Williams's upcoming album Britpop. It's interesting that the first taste of a full-length named after a style of pop music from the U.K. wouldn't typically be classified under that genre, and would feature one of the most recognizable figures in metal — but that's Williams, playing another one of his jokes. While Iommi may be new to these rankings, Williams has already scored a number of hits. The pop icon has racked up a dozen smashes on the Official Singles Sales chart and well over two dozen on the Official Singles Downloads list. A top 40 start is impressive for Iommi but rather low for Williams, one of the most successful pop stars in U.K. history. The tune doesn't reach the main list of the most consumed songs — the Official Singles chart — at least not yet, which is a bit disappointing.
