Delco woman filmed defecating on car in road rage incident makes court appearance
The Brief
Charges were upheld for a Delaware County woman who defecated on another woman's car in an April road rage incident.
The judge approved charges against 44-year-old Christina Solometo of Ridley Park.
A 17-year-old witness who recorded the road rage encounter says the case is "pretty crazy".
PROSPECT PARK, Pa. - Christina Solometo, the Ridley Park woman who was made infamous in a now-viral video showing her defecating on another woman's car, shook her head when a judge upheld charges against her in a Delaware County courtroom on Monday afternoon.
Escorted by a private security guard, Solometo left her preliminary hearing in Prospect Park without saying a word.
Instead, she let her attorney do the talking.
What they're saying
"If you are going to charge a client with a crime. You better be able to meet that burden.. And from what we saw today, I'm not sure they did" said defense attorney David Klayman.
The viral video was played for District Judge Mary McFall Hopper that showed the end of a road rage incident where Solometo is seen defecating on the hood of another woman's car on April 30th at the corner of 4th and Madison Streets in Prospect Park.
Hopper held Solometo in court on charges including indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, harassment, and depositing waste on a highway. The judge also approved an additional charge of lewdness.
The video was shot by 17-year-old Greg Ferrari.
Ferrari said he was driving to a friend's house when he saw the two women in a confrontation and pulled out his phone to start recording.
"One of the people ended up going to the bathroom on the other's car." Said Ferrari on the witness stand. Accompanied by his mother the Interboro High School Junior took a break from classes to testify in the afternoon hearing. He admits he is becoming a bit of a celebrity from the attention his video has received. He was recently asked to have his picture taken at a graduation party.
"It's pretty crazy. I mean it's something you'd never expect. I just got done school. I got called out of school for this" said Ferrari.
Klayman argued in court that the charges against his client didn't meet the standard of what happened that day. He says both drivers are to blame.
He also says since the video made the rounds on social media, Solometo and her family have been threatened.
"It's traumatic because it's all over the media. There are people making t-shirts, hats. Threatening, making threatening comments. When we are talking about a person. Just because it's not your best day doesn't mean you should be harassed continuously", added Klayman.
What's next
The victim in the case did not testify on Monday.
Solometo is due back in court for her formal arraignment on July 9.

Maryland man faces drug, gun charges after road rage incident on I-695
A Baltimore County man is facing gun and drug charges after an alleged road-rage incident in Baltimore County, the Maryland State Police (MSP) said Friday. Travis Thomas, 26, faces numerous charges after police said he was found with guns and suspected cocaine. Police said that around 11:00 a.m. on June 4, they received an emergency call from a motorist who said another driver pointed a silver firearm at them and their passenger during a road-rage interaction on the outer loop of I-695 before I-95. The victim and the passenger were uninjured during the incident. Troopers from the MSP investigated and identified Thomas as the suspect. On June 5, investigators located Thomas at his job in Harford County and executed search warrants. In the search, they found a loaded gun and suspected cocaine packaged for distribution. Law enforcement executed a second search warrant at Thomas' home in Dundalk and found two more guns, along with more suspected cocaine. Thomas faces two counts of felony assault, misdemeanor assault, and using a firearm during a felony. He is also charged with having a loaded handgun in his vehicle and possessing a firearm during a drug trafficking crime in Harford County. Road rage incidents in Maryland Maryland is no stranger to road rage incidents. In February, two men were arrested in separate road rage incidents in Baltimore and Prince George's Counties. On February 18, troopers received a report about a suspected road rage incident near I-695 and Liberty Road, where the victim claimed a driver in a red Mustang displayed a firearm. No one was injured in the incident. A day later, police spotted the same vehicle in the area. They later interviewed 71-year-old William Shockey at his home, where a search uncovered a loaded handgun. Just hours later, police responded to a separate report of an armed road rage incident on Route 1 in Prince George's County. In that case, the victim stated that a man, later identified as 70-year-old Charles Provost, displayed a gun several times. No injuries were reported. Troopers identified Provost as the suspect and found his vehicle at a home in College Park. Law enforcement searched his home and vehicle and found a loaded handgun. In early January, Gerome Alexander Quigley, Jr., 41, was charged for a road rage shooting in Frederick County. Police said he started shooting into a vehicle at an intersection near an apartment building. He then followed the car while continuing to shoot at the victims. Quigley was charged with attempted murder. Man dies after road rage shooting in Frederick County In July 2024, a man was arrested for a Fourth of July road rage shooting that left one person dead and multiple other people injured. The shooting happened on Maryland Route 140. The driver, Davon Dabbs, 20, and his passenger allegedly pulled over to fight a man identified as Christopher Patrick Moore. During the fight, Moore's fiancée drove up, got out of her vehicle, and pulled out her legally owned handgun before opening fire. She told investigators she hoped it would de-escalate the situation. Dabbs physically assaulted her before getting hold of the gun and firing multiple rounds. One gunshot hit his passenger, and two hit Moore in the chest. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene.

Feds warn about threats to Israeli and Jewish institutions and supporters in U.S.
Washington — Federal law enforcement agencies have issued a new intelligence bulletin, obtained by CBS News, warning that recent attacks in Boulder, Colorado, at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., and at the Pennsylvania governor's residence "could motivate others to conduct violence against Israeli and Jewish institutions, or their supporters." The memo was issued by the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and the National Counterterrorism Center to law enforcement nationwide Wednesday, voicing concern that "some individuals online are sharing the manifesto of the alleged Capital Jewish Museum attacker, praising their actions, and calling for additional violence." "We advise security partners to remain vigilant for threats of targeted violence against Jewish and Israeli communities, and their supporters," the memo says. On Sunday, a suspect allegedly used Molotov cocktails to attack a march for Israeli hostages in Boulder, Colorado, injuring more than a dozen people. He has since been charged with 118 state criminal charges, including 28 counts of attempted murder. On May 21, two Israeli Embassy employees, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, were shot and killed as they left the Capital Jewish Museum. The suspect, who shouted "Free Palestine" as he was taken into custody, faces first-degree murder charges. And in April, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, who is Jewish, was allegedly targeted by a man who officials say intentionally set fire to the governor's residence while Shapiro and his family were home asleep. The suspect has been charged with attempted murder, terrorism and other crimes. The law enforcement bulletin said intelligence analysts assess that "online messaging promoting violence by foreign terrorist organizations, their supporters, and other threat actors particularly messaging that highlights successful attacks –- could compel threat actors motivated by various ideologies to engage in violence." The law enforcement agencies also warned that foreign terrorist organizations have pushed content encouraging violence regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict, "and the online messaging is one of many factors that has influenced the radicalization of violent extremists." contributed to this report.
