Updated Big Ten basketball transfer portal class rankings
The Big Ten basketball landscape could be dominated by transfers in the 2025-26 season. Several of the conference's projected top contenders, including Michigan, UCLA and Wisconsin, exit the transfer cycle with new additions set for major lineup roles.
The Wolverines' offseason was headlined by the impact additions of UCLA center Aday Mara, Illinois forward Morez Johnson Jr., North Carolina guard Elliot Cadeau and UAB forward Yaxel Lendeborg (pending an NBA draft decision). Lendeborg has the chance for the greatest impact, as he joins the Wolverines as the No. 1 overall transfer prospect.
UCLA, next, added five-star transfer Donovan Dent from New Mexico, former five-star high school recruit Xavier Booker from Michigan State and Jamar Brown from Kansas City. That trio complements a lineup that already returned major contributors from a team that went 23-11 last season.
Wisconsin, finally, may have delivered the most underrated transfer cycle of any Big Ten contender. The program added San Diego State guard Nick Boyd, Virginia wing Andrew Rohde, Portland forward Austin Rapp and Tulsa guard Braeden Carrington. The first three are all write-ins to a starting lineup that could be the conference's best if John Blackwell withdraws from the NBA draft.
Wisconsin, Michigan and UCLA are all projected top-five teams entering the 2025-26 Big Ten season. They trail Purdue, which is the one major conference contender that did not bring in a crowded transfer class. For more on the early outlook for next season, here are our latest post-transfer cycle power rankings.
With the transfer cycle now mostly complete, here is an updated look at 247Sports' team rankings for the Big Ten Conference.

Of course, these rankings should be taken with a grain of salt. Wisconsin, for example, landed three highly touted transfers who all project as major contributors. That group may have a similar impact as Indiana's group of 10 transfers, although the volume of transfers in the Hoosiers' class leads to a much higher ranking.
Furthermore, transfer rankings are far less accurate than those from the high school recruiting cycle. John Tonje headlines that reality, as he delivered an All-American season after being ranked as the No. 296 overall transfer from last offseason.
That is a long way to explain that these rankings don't mean everything. They are just an interesting comparison point to return to once these groups take the court in the fall.

This hidden detail in the Milwaukee Brewers logo was worthy of a ‘Jeopardy!' clue

Two hidden letters embedded inside a Major League Baseball team's logo were clues on Jeopard y! And if you didn't know their secret meaning before, don't worry—because some of their own players and fans didn't either. The clue in the 'Logo-A-Go-Go' category for $200 was: 'Some players have been on this MLB team for quite some time before noticing that its ball-and-glove logo forms the letters M and B.' Contestant Ted Nyman gave the correct response: 'Who are the Milwaukee Brewers?' — Richard (@ifiwasrichard) June 9, 2025 The Brewers announced a rebrand in 2019 for the club's 50th anniversary. The team brought back an old logo first used in 1978 that cleverly placed a lowercase B underneath a letter M to form a baseball mitt out of the team nickname's initials—and they're hidden in plain sight. It's a concept by Tom Meindel, a former art history student at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire who submitted the design to a team logo contest. The contest was open to the public, and out of nearly 2,000 submissions, Meindel's logo won. (He received $2,000 for his work.) That the Brewers revived his classic ball-in-glove logo for their 50th anniversary is a testament to the logo's simplicity and proof that nostalgia sells in sports. You can't unsee the hidden M and B in the Brewers logo once you see them. But like the Jeopardy! clue said, it's not always obvious at first glance, including to the team's own fans and players. 'I had actually been in the organization for probably five years before I figured it out,' right fielder Ryan Braun admitted in 2019. And in an open poll that year on what was then called Twitter, the Brewers team account asked: 'How old were you when you realized the glove is also an 'm' and a 'b'?' And the responses were 39.1% for 'Always known,' 31.4% for 'Far too late in life,' and 29.5% for 'Wait. What?!'

T.J. Watt's potential fines for skipping Steelers mandatory minicamp revealed

T.J. Watt's potential fines for skipping Steelers mandatory minicamp revealed T.J. Watt's contract dispute has led him to no-show Steelers mandatory minicamp — and hefty fines could be the price to pay. Insider Adam Schefter revealed that players on veteran deals could be subjected to up to $100,000 in fines for missing mandatory minicamp — and here is what the Steelers star defender could face per day: Day 1: $17,462 Day 2: $34,925 Day 3: $52,381 Total: $104,768 It remains to be seen if the Steelers will impose the fines, but if Watt's rumored $41 million per year asking price is to be believed, $100K would mean little in the long run. Watt isn't the only edge defender seeking a new contract, as Bengals star DE Trey Hendrickson also skipped mandatory minicamp amid extension talks. While Watt remains absent from mandatory minicamp, all eyes will turn to OLBs Alex Highsmith, Nick Herbig, and rookie Jack Sawyer this offseason. Steelers HC Mike Tomlin breaks his silence on T.J. Watt holdout amid minicamp absence

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin breaks his silence on T.J. Watt holdout amid minicamp absence Day 1 of Steelers mandatory minicamp has come and gone — and T.J. Watt was nowhere to be found. The Steelers star defender is likely channeling the energy of his former hold-in that resulted in a major payday just days before the start of the 2021 regular season — and HC Mike Tomlin wasted little time addressing the elephant in the room. Regarding Watt's mandatory minicamp absence, Tomlin made it clear he was neither shocked nor worried about Watt's future in the Steel City (courtesy of Teresa Varley, "Certainly, we'd like him to be here, but certainly not surprised by where we are," said Tomlin. "We've expressed a desire to get the business done. He has as well. So, we'll continue to work. We've been here before." Even at 30 years old, Watt remains the unquestioned life force of the Steelers defense — a pass-rush monster designed to create havoc in opposing backfields that deserves to get paid sooner than later.
