
Not just humans, dogs too stretch & wag tails in unique yoga session

Nagpur: Yoga mats were rolled out, not only for people but also for their puppies. On Sunday, a cosy cafe in the city turned into a wellness retreat for a dog yoga session, blending movement, mental calm, and wagging tails!
The event drew in participants across age groups, including content creators, students, professionals and even those scared of dogs.
"I am scared of dogs, but these pups are so cute. I feel refreshed after the session," said Palak Ahuja, one of the attendees. The session began with light yoga asanas led by a certified instructor and ended with a wholesome cuddle session with puppies brought in by a local animal welfare NGO, DayOff.
The event didn't just aim to ease stress; it also carried a cause, raising awareness around the adoption of Indian breed dogs, who are often overlooked in favour of pedigrees.
NGO founders, Gunjyot Tuli (19), Arshpreet Puri (18), and Vishakha Adtani (19) said the idea was to provide relief for stressed-out minds. "Everyone's always hustling. Even one hour of peace, movement, and puppy love can refresh someone's mood.
That's a win for us," Gunjyot said. Though there were no adoptions of puppies this time, the event sparked conversations.
The NGO even offered support to those unsure about long-term commitment, promising that if things don't work out, the dogs could be returned safely instead of being abandoned."We
just want to normalise the idea of doing something that feels good without guilt," said Vishakha. "Everyone is stressed: housewives, kids, working adults. Puppies aren't just cute, they're little bursts of serotonin."
First-timers Ria Kriplani and Shivani Patil agreed. "We had such a great time. Yoga was so much fun!" "We wanted people to leave with a full heart, and they did," said Arshpreet. With wellness experiences like sound baths and mindful workshops next in the pipeline, DayOff is quietly shaping a new kind of morning culture in Nagpur, one that includes dogs, deep breaths, and doing absolutely nothing for an hour without feeling bad about it.

Bollywood action director Vicky Arora Bollywood action director Vicky Arora, known for his work on films like URI: The Surgical Strike, RRR, TANAAV, and the upcoming Ramayan Part 1, has joined Shortgun Games to lead the action design for its upcoming third-person shooter (TPS) game. The move marks a collaboration between film and interactive entertainment, with Arora applying his experience in cinematic combat to a new gaming environment. Shortgun Games, founded by the team behind Rogue Heist, is currently working on a narrative-driven shooter for PC and console platforms. At Shortgun, Arora is overseeing the game's action sequences from pre-visualisation and motion capture to final implementation. His focus is on combining technical precision with storytelling, drawing on over a decade of experience in choreographing action scenes in film.'What stood out was Shortgun's commitment to narrative. Games have always fascinated me as a medium that blends immersion with interactivity,' said Vicky Arora. 'The idea of using action to advance character arcs rather than relying on spectacle alone aligns closely with how I approach cinema. Applying that same lens to a TPS, where every gameplay decision carries emotional weight, felt like a natural fit. This is a progression for action design where players don't just witness the fight, they step into it.'The upcoming title explores themes such as identity, instinct, and control, with Arora's role focused on aligning these ideas with the game's combat systems. Drawing inspiration from games like The Last of Us, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Ghost of Tsushima, Arora aims to bring similar narrative depth and realism to Shortgun's project. 'Vicky Arora's background in grounded, close-quarters choreography and his ability to think from a narrative perspective made him the right choice for this role,' said Vidhit Mehta, Founder at Shortgun. 'His collaboration with our creative team helped bring weight and logic to the way our characters move and fight.'Shortgun says that bringing someone from a film background into game development reflects a broader shift in India's digital entertainment sector.'This collaboration reflects a larger shift happening across India's digital entertainment. We're seeing the lines between film and games blur, and that opens up a whole new design language for developers. Bringing someone like Vicky Arora on board, someone with deep roots in cinematic storytelling and physical action, allows us to tap into that momentum," said Jeet Chandan, Managing Director at Shortgun."Indian gamers today expect quality, immersion, and originality, not just localisation of global trends. For us, elevating production value from the development stage is a strategic choice. It's about showing that Indian studios can create globally competitive, story-driven titles from the ground up. And in doing so, we're also building a model for cross-industry collaboration that can redefine how games are made in India," he also serves as General Secretary of the Screen Action Association of India (SAAI), where he supports professional training and safety standards for stunt performers. His familiarity with motion capture work, particularly on Ramayan Part 1, is informing his approach to game development at Shortgun. The studio's project is still in development, but the team believes that combining cinematic expertise with interactive storytelling can help raise the bar for Indian-made games.

Mysuru Science Theatre Festival from July 24
The eighth edition of Mysore Science Theatre Festival will be held in Mysuru from July 24 to 27. The festival will be held at Sri Ramagovinda Rangamandira in Ramakrishna Nagar, and it will start daily at 5 p.m. onwards. It is organised by The Mysore Science Theatre Festival Trust in association with the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bengaluru, and Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement, Mysuru. Annapurni Subramaniam, astrophysicist and violinist, will inaugurate the event at 4.30 p.m. with a violin recital. Neelanjan Choudhary, English playwright and novelist from Bengaluru, will deliver the keynote address on science and science plays. The daily programmes before plays (5 p.m. to 7 p.m.) include exhibition of mathematical toys, books, and posters on Indian women scientists, besides telescope viewing of sun spots. Special sessions include Talk on How Astronomy dethroned humans on July 25, discussion on Indian Women Scientists in 2025 on July 26, and quiz on Serendipitous Science on July 27. The festival was started in 2017 by three amateur theatre troupes from Mysuru who came together to stage plays focusing on science and scientists. Initially, they staged translated English plays, now produces original Kannada plays on Indian science and scientists. The plays have been staged more than thirty times and reached prestigious institutions like CSIR-CFTRI, Indian Institute of Science, Institute for Human Genetics, and several engineering colleges. The organisers are Parivartana Ranga Samaja, Arivu Ranga, and Kalasuruchi, with support from Kutuhali-Kannada (Kannada science magazine) and Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement, Mysuru. The Indian Institute of Astrophysics has sponsored the festival, said a note.
