Everything We Know About ‘The Testaments,' Sequel Series To ‘The Handmaid's Tale' So Far
While Hulu's television adaptation of The Handmaid's Tale is soon coming to an end, the story will continue in sequel series The Testaments.
From executive producers Bruce Miller and Warren Littlefield, the show will take place in the same world as The Handmaid's Tale with a time jump after the show.

A release date is not yet slated for the sequel series, as it is still in early stages of production.

Yes, the show began production in April 2025.
Who is in the cast of ?
Girl Meets World star Rowan Blanchard will star as a series regular in the sequel series, Deadline exclusively reported. Blanchard's character Shunammite is a pampered teen from a prominent Gilead family, whose status affords her a certain level of respect and power amongst her peers.
Mattea Conforti will also appear in the show. She will play Becka, a girl of humble origins who goes to school with Gilead's elite.
Ann Dowd will reprise her Handmaid's Tale role as Aunt Lydia, and Chase Infiniti and Lucy Halliday will star as two of the three main leads alongside Dowd.

What is about?
The show will take place 15 years after the events of The Handmaid's Tale, and it is also based on a book by Margaret Atwood.
The story follows the lives of three women, Aunt Lydia (Dowd), Agnes (Infiniti) and Daisy (Halliday), whose fates become intertwined as they uncover the secrets of Gilead and the resistance against its regime.
Who else is behind ?
The Handmai's Tale star Elisabeth Moss will executive produce the series alongside Miller and Littlefield. When Deadline first broke the news of the sequel series, we also reported that the hope is for Moss to reprise her role of June Osbourne.
Mike Barker will direct the first three episodes of the show in addition to executive producing.

Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune are headed to streaming
Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune are coming to streaming for the first time. The two game shows will arrive on Hulu and Peacock in September, according to a report from The New York Times. Under the multi-year deal, new episodes of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune will appear on both streaming services one day after they air on linear TV. The agreement will include older episodes of each show, too. For decades, Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune have been staples on linear TV, and their expansion to Peacock and Hulu is part of a broader pattern that's bringing key series, like WWE's Monday Night Raw, to streaming. As pointed out by The Hollywood Reporter, this streaming deal isn't directly connected to the legal battle involving Sony — the producer of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! — and its distributor, CBS. Last year, Sony sued CBS over claims it breached their agreement by not doing enough to boost revenue from licensing the shows. A judge granted Sony the rights to distribute Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! in April, but an appellate court ruled last week that CBS can keep distributing the shows during the legal battle.

California Senate Approves Film & TV Tax Credits Bill
In a near-unanimous vote, the California Senate today passed its version of legislation aimed at expanding and retooling the state's Film and Television Tax Credit Program. The vote on Senate Bill 630 was 34-1, with the only nay coming from Sen. Roger Niello, who represents the city of Sacramento and surrounding areas. Gavin Newsom in October proposed a significant increase to the overall cap on incentives, more than doubling it from $330 million to $750M annually.
