Harrison Ford admits what keeps him going in Hollywood
The legendary actor spoke with Fox News Digital at a Televerse red carpet event in Los Angeles about his Emmy nod and what continues to fuel his passion for Hollywood.
"It's nice, I appreciate the attention, and I appreciate… the proposition," Ford said of his nomination for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series for his work in "Shrinking."
"It's gratifying, but my real pleasure is in the work."
The 83-year-old actor, whose decades-long career includes famous roles in "Indiana Jones" and "Star Wars," isn't one to get bogged down in awards and accolades. Instead, the thrill has always been in the craft. And despite a career that spans over 50 years, he's still as driven as ever.
The seasoned Hollywood veteran spoke about what keeps him motivated in the industry, explaining that what he loves is "The mystery of it."
"What's going to happen, who's going to do what—it's fascinating to be alive, and the stuff we do is so demanding, you're really scared not to do anything."

Whether he's starring in "Shrinking" or another big Hollywood project, Ford emphasized that the thrill of the unknown fuels his passion.
"It makes the day go by pretty fast," Ford said, as he explained he feels energized by the fast-paced nature of the industry. "I like not knowing what's going to happen. It's very exciting."
Ford was joined on the red carpet by his "Shrinking" co-star, Jessica Williams, who agreed with his assessment, saying, "I like that too. I like not knowing what's going to happen. It's very exciting."
He also acknowledged and credited the show's writers for pushing him further as a Hollywood actor.
"I like having writers that you trust… they've helped me extend my range," he continued to explain to Fox News Digital.
Meanwhile, his co-star Williams dished on the "Shrinking" wrap party that went on until 3 a.m. — which Ford missed.

When Fox News Digital asked whether he could still hang with the party crowd, Ford flashed a mischievous grin and quipped, "It's happened before."
At the beginning of Ford's acting career, he was told that he had no future in Hollywood.
According to a Hollywood executive in the '60s, Ford was never going to be a household name.
Last month, Ford explained that when he got his debut role in "Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round," he was making $150 per week and was treated accordingly.
"I was under contract to Columbia Pictures at the time for $150 a week and all the respect that that implies. I was called into the office of the head of the new talent program, and he told me that I had no future in the business, which was OK," Ford told Variety.
He explained that the head of talent at Columbia Pictures told him to change his look and his name.
"And then he asked me to get my hair cut like Elvis Presley. That I didn't go along with."
"He thought that 'Harrison Ford' was too pretentious a name for a young man," the actor said.
Although he's undeniably one of the most famous leading men in Hollywood history, he said he never expected or necessarily desired the level of fame he'd achieve.

Roblox is locking down sexual content and access to ‘adult' locations after lawsuits
Roblox is updating its policies prohibiting romantic or sexual content to also forbid 'content, settings, or behavior that implies sexual activity,' according to a Friday post from chief safety officer Matt Kaufman (emphasis Kaufman's). The changes follow recent lawsuits against the company, including one from Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill that alleges the platform creates an environment where 'child predators thrive.' It claims Roblox has 'directly facilitated the widespread sexual exploitation of minors and inflicted severe, lasting harm upon the children of Louisiana.' In response, Roblox said that 'any assertion that Roblox would intentionally put our users at risk of exploitation is simply untrue.' Roblox has rolled out many safety-focused features in recent months, including an age estimator tool for users to verify they are over 13 so they can chat with 'Trusted Connections,' accounts parents can use to remotely manage their kids' accounts, and blocking kids under 13 from accessing social hangout spaces. 'Fix it, or shut it down!' Murrill replied. According to Kaufman's post, in the 'coming months,' Roblox will restrict all unrated experiences — previously restricted to players who are 13 or older — to just the developer and anyone 'actively working on the experience.' If a developer wants to make these experiences public, they will have to fill out a questionnaire to receive a content maturity label. Roblox is also rolling out 'new technology to detect violative scenes,' which is intended to detect user behavior that violates Roblox's rules in experiences that are otherwise compliant with its policies, such as inappropriate drawings in an experience with a drawing feature. 'If this feature detects a server with a high volume of violative user behavior, the system will automatically take that server down,' Kaufman says. Social hangout spaces depicting private spaces like bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as experiences primarily set in private spaces and in places like virtual bars and clubs, will now only be available to users who are 17 or older and have verified their ID. Developers will have to verify that they are 17 years or older if they want to make an experience for users in that same age group. James Gunn Teases the Future of John Cena's PEACEMAKER in the DCU — GeekTyrant
James Gunn's first phase of the DCU has always included John Cena's Peacemaker, but as we are still ahead of the character's second season in his series, we don't exactly know what the future holds for him. Season 2 of Peacemaker will debut this week, and run through the beginning of October, and Gunn has been very tight-lipped about what the final few episodes will entail. When asked by ExtraTV (via CBM) about the broader direction of the DCU, James Gunn teased that Season 2 of Peacemaker will provide plenty of answers. "I think you're going to find out a lot, this season of Peacemaker. This is a direct follow-up to Superman, although it should be said, it's not for kids, it's for adults. We kind of see where the DC Universe is going and we find out about where it's heading from here. By the end of the season, there's a lot of surprises." In a separate interview, Gunn previously teased that episodes 6-8 of the series contain huge surprises and that he intentionally left those episodes off of advance screener copies sent out to the media. As to whether Season 2 is the last season of Peacemaker , Gunn all but confirmed that Cena's antihero will be seen again in a fourth project. Whether that's a third season of the show or something else remains to be seen, saying, "We call it the Tighty-Whities Trilogy- between The Suicide Squad , Peacemaker Season 1, and Peacemaker Season 2. Are we going to make it a quadrilogy? Probably, we'll see..." "In Season 2, Peacemaker discovers an alternate world where life is everything he wishes it could be. But this discovery also forces him to face his traumatic past and take the future into his own hands." James Gunn wrote all 8 episodes and directed 3, including the premiere. The second season reunites John Cena with key members of the season 1 cast, including Danielle Brooks (Leota Adebayo), Freddie Stroma (Vigilante), Jennifer Holland (Emilia Harcourt), and Steve Agee (John Economos), as the series gears up for a major expansion within the new DC Universe. This time around, the story will branch out beyond Peacemaker's tight-knit team, with Frank Grillo stepping in as Rick Flag Sr., a character who serves as the connective tissue to Superman, Creature Commandos, and future DCU chapters. Several additional familiar faces from Superman are also set to appear, including Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and Sean Gunn reprising his role as the Justice Gang financier Maxwell Lord. 'Game of Thrones' star Sophie Turner calls kissing co-star Kit Harington a 'vile' experience
Sophie Turner had a "vile" experience kissing co-star Kit Harington for their upcoming horror film, "The Dreadful." Turner and Harington starred alongside each other in "Game of Thrones" as brother and sister from 2011 until 2019. After portraying siblings Sansa Stark and Jon Snow, their bond transcended TV and the duo found themselves just as close in real life. After Turner suggested Harington for the lead role in "The Dreadful," he pointed out filming might be a little awkward. "So, I sent the script to Kit, and he kind of sent me a message back going like, 'Yeah, I'd love to, but this is going to be really f------ weird, Soph,'" Turner said on "Late Night with Seth Meyers." "And I was like, 'What is he talking about?' Then I was reading [the script] and it's like, 'Kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex…' And then I'm like, 'Oh, shoot, that's my brother.'" After much consideration, Turner and Harington decided they "kind of had to do it" because they couldn't turn down the script. "We put it out of our minds, and then we get on set, and it's the first kissing scene, and we are both retching," she recalled. "Like, really, it is vile. It was the worst." Turner began filming "Game of Thrones" at the age of 12. By the time the HBO series wrapped, the TV star was 23. The Emmy-nominated actress described filming alongside Harington, Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage and more as the "best acting class." "I never had proper formal training, so I got to learn from the amazing actors around me, which I felt like I won a competition," Turner said on the "Dish" podcast. "But it was great. We all were a family." "My character, I got to live with," she added. "So it felt like we kind of merged into one person by the end of it. But it was amazing."
