A Lucky Seven List Of All-Time Rangers Hustlers
If you are enjoying the Stanley Cup Final, by now it must be apparent that the Panthers and Oilers have HUSTLE written all over them. Special Kudos to aging vets Corey Perry of Edmonton and Brad Marchand of Florida. Advertisement Over the years, the Ranger roster was sprinkled with Marchand-types who never stopped skating. The Maven's All-Time Rangers hustlers appear here in Chronological time: The Best Rangers Hustlers On The Team Currently The Best Rangers Hustlers On The Team Currently Enough with the talk about the deadwood core. Here's a short list of The Maven's favorite TRY HARD GUYS. 1. PHIL WATSON: It wasn't that "Phiery Phil" set up the 1940 Stanley Cup-winning goal for New York in 1940, but that didn't hurt. Watson's big mouth churned away as fast as his skates. Phil never wore a sign that read: BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED! 2. DEAN PRENTICE: Shamefully, the Hockey Hall of Fame has ignored one of the most consistent left wingers in history. Hall Of Fame right wing Andy Bathgate would have been the first to claim that Dean's hard work led to AB's HOF nomination. Advertisement 3. ANDY HEBENTON: GM Muzz Patrick's greatest discovery, Hebby was toiling with Tacoma in the Western League when Muzz signed him as a winger for the 1955-56 season. Andy scored a huge OT goal for New York and became an NHL iron man. 4. RED SULLIVAN: Nobody in Sully's time had more go-go in his system than the center who would become captain. Red was a ferret on the spoor of a hot puck and one of his other favorite targets was the Habs goalie; whenever Jacques Plante wandered. 5. LARRY POPEIN: Before Bathgate became a superstar, Andy needed a crafty center to help launch his career. "Pope" was the perfect pivot; as well as a superior skater who "read" Bathgate's moves as well as any. 6. JOHNNY WILSON: Once the dynamo behind Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay on the Dynastic Detroit Red Wings, Wilson – yet another iron man – was a hero on the 1961-62 Ranger club that made the playoffs under player-coach Doug Harvey. 7. NICK MICKOSKI: Groomed with the Rangers Eastern Amateur Hockey League's New York Rovers, "Bashful Nick Ready Top Click" wore his number 11 proudly. The Winnipeger's hustle did not result in any All-Star nominations but the fans – Maven included – loved the guy!

Oikos PRO Leaves No Athlete Behind in Canada with a Surprise 2025 Stanley Cup® Playoffs Gym Experience
Oikos uncovers that elite athletes in Canada are not willing to miss a gym day, even during the playoffs. TORONTO and BOUCHERVILLE, QC, June 9, 2025 /CNW/ - The excitement in Canada for the Stanley Cup Final is palpable with the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final for the second straight season. Between office small talk, radio recaps and highlight reels on social media, Canadians cannot escape the hype, but not every fan stays glued to the game. Some ultra-dedicated athletes refuse to miss a workout, heading to the gym even when their favourite team is on the ice. This is what Oikos, the official high-protein yogurt of the NHL and beloved Canadian-made Greek yogurt brand, has learned through insights about what matters most to elite performers. As it turns out, high-protein diets dominate their social feeds and morning routines. Danone Canada collaborated with creative agency BonClub to envision an activation for Oikos PRO that tapped into a real cultural tension: when the playoffs are on, sticking to your training routine gets harder. Oikos PRO was made for moments like these, a high-protein yogurt designed to support serious performance with up to 24 grams of protein per serving. "As a brand built on purpose, known for its creamy, rich and satisfying yogurt, Oikos PRO is here to fuel consistency and celebrate commitment. Instead of making athletes choose between gym time and game time, we brought both worlds together with a high-energy, playoff-worthy gym time and game takeover that celebrated their discipline,'' said Aurélie Goffinet, Senior Brand Manager at Danone Canada. The made-for-social moment transformed a Canadian fitness centre into every hockey lover's dream. While others watched the game from their couches, gym-goers lifted weights while enjoying arena lighting, a DJ, cheering fans, and the ultimate playoff atmosphere. Through an authentic approach, the campaign guaranteed a high-energy moment designed to spark user-generated content while speaking to the benefits of Oikos PRO via concession stands and product sampling. The immersive experience built emotional credibility with Canadians who take their training seriously. An authentic surprise made athletes in the room stop and recognize Oikos as a brand that "gets it.": "I've definitely skipped out on social plans to prioritize training. Consistency is one of the biggest factors in long-term performance — and for me, that means showing up, even when there's something exciting going on. It's easy to fall off track when you start making exceptions, and I'm not willing to risk that," says Phil Wizard, Olympic medalist and World Champion breakdancer. About Oikos® CanadaOikos is part of Danone Canada, a leading health-driven food and beverage company, and offers a diverse range of Greek yogurt, providing consumers with creamy, delicious, and nutritious products tailored to their needs. Recently cut ex-Bengals linebacker would make sense for Broncos
Recently cut ex-Bengals linebacker would make sense for Broncos The Cincinnati Bengals are releasing veteran linebacker Germaine Pratt, a move that could be of note to the Denver Broncos. Even after signing Dre Greenlaw in March, the Broncos could still use another starting-caliber inside linebacker. Alex Singleton is coming off a torn ACL, and he's set to turn 32 this season. Singleton was a starter in Denver before his injury, but it remains to be seen if he will return to his pre-injury form, and the Broncos would save $5.58 million if they release him. There's not much proven depth behind Greenlaw and Singleton, either. Justin Strnad started eight games out of necessity last year, but Denver's not leaning on him to start in 2025. Drew Sanders could have a bigger role this season, but he only has four career starts on his resume. Levelle Bailey played primarily on special teams, and undrafted free agent signees JB Brown, Karene Reid and Jordan Turner are fighting for roster spots this summer. So the Broncos could certainly use a proven veteran like Pratt, a 29-year-old linebacker who started all 17 games for the Bengals last season. A former third-round pick out of NC State, Pratt has totaled 616 tackles, 23 pass breakups, seven interceptions, seven forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and 3.5 sacks in 96 career games. If the price is right, Pratt would be a logical addition for Denver's defense that could still use an upgrade at linebacker. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.
