Tom Cavanagh to co-star with Brooke Shields in 'You're Killing Me'
Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Ed, Superman & Lois and The Flash alum Tom Cavanagh has signed on to co-star with Brooke Shields in a new mystery drama, You're Killing Me.
Sullivan's Crossing actress Amalia Williamson has also joined the cast.
Production on the six-part series is to begin next month in Nova Scotia.
The show, which Shields is also executive producing, is expected to premiere on Acorn TV in 2026.
"Set in a quaint New England colonial town, You're Killing Me follows bestselling novelist (Shields) who forms an unlikely alliance with an aspiring writer and podcaster (Williamson) to find the killer of a close friend," a synopsis said.
"Cavanagh is on board as Jack, the new lead detective of the Founders Cove Police Department and former city slicker who is trying to acclimate to the quirks of small-town life."

Sean Gunn Wants You to Think Maxwell Lord Is Part of the (Justice) Gang
In a conversation with the Reel Rejects, actor Sean Gunn discussed his role as Maxwell Lord as a connective thread between Superman and Peacemaker. Portraying the megabucks metahuman investor as someone who wants to work alongside metahumans is key to Gunn, and his take is to make sure he's in the know of the choices being made, from outfits to the mural in the Hall of Justice. 'There's no way that somebody in charge like that wouldn't be aware of what's going on, and we can tell,' he shared. 'We can see it from Peacemaker [that] Maxwell's hands-on with stuff. So the idea that he wouldn't know what the [Hall of Justice] mural looked like or that he wouldn't know what the uniforms or the outfits look like—there's no way he wouldn't know. There's no way. So yes, that's just information for me about who he is.' In Peacemaker we get a glimpse of how Maxwell's day-to-day with the Justice Gang goes in his very rich dude way. 'The scene we did see in the trailer of him being so hands-on is kind of your equalizer… he has some sort of camaraderie with these characters. He's not just [like] when we meet Lex [Luthor] in Superman. Lex is definitely more of a [lone wolf], even though he's surrounded by people. [Everyone] else exists [to Lex] 'for me to bend them to my whim.' Whereas I think even in that little scene in Peacemaker, we can see that Maxwell is not quite like that—that he's actually engaging shoulder to shoulder with Guy [Gardner] and with Hawkgirl, and he may be the boss, but he's engaging with them as colleagues in a way.' One of the highlights of his approach is seen in the Hall of Justice mural featured in Superman, which depicts great moments of metahuman presence and features the inclusion of Lord as a figurehead but dressed decidedly more subdued than the heroes. Gunn conceded that it speaks to what Maxwell wants to convey: 'I think that we can definitely assume that Maxwell sees himself as a member of the team more than just a benefactor.' 'Hollow Knight: Silksong' finally releasing in September
Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Highly-anticipated indie title Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released Sept. 4 after seven years of development. Developer Team Cherry made the announcement on Thursday alongside a new gameplay trailer. Hollow Knight: Silksong, the sequel to 2017's critically-acclaimed and best-selling Hollow Knight, was first announced in 2019. What followed was stretches of radio silence concerning the game over the years, frustrating fans of the series. The sequel has players take on the role of Hornet, with the new game promising new enemies and over 40 new bosses. Silksong again tasks players with exploring a haunted kingdom filled with surprises around every corner. Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series S and X, and PC. The game will also be available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers on launch day.

Look: 'Man on the Inside' Season 2 pics show Steenburgen, Strathairn, more
Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Netflix released photos from A Man on the Inside Season 2 on Thursday. The streaming service also announced the premiere date of Nov. 20. Photos show guest stars including Ted Danson's real-life wife Mary Steenburgen, Max Greenfield, David Strathairn, Jason Mantzoukas and Constance Marie. Gary Cole also joins the new season. Danson returns as Charles, investigating a new mystery for Wheeler College president Jack Berenger (Greenfield). Steenburgen plays a music teacher and Cole a billionaire potential donor. No details about the other guest stars were confirmed. Private investigator Julie (Lilah Richcreek Estrada), who hired Charles in Season 1, returns, along with Mary Elizabeth Ellis as Charles' daughter, Emily, and Eugene Cordero as her husband, Joel. Season 1 was based on the documentary The Mole Agent and like the real-life case, had Charles go undercover in a retirement home. Season 1 stars Stephanie Beatriz and Stephen McKinley Henderson also return in Season 2. Danson told UPI in an interview for Season 1 that he appreciated projects that blend comedy and drama. Season 1 premiered Nov. 21 and was renewed in December.
