FM Araghchi: Iran won't allow any disruption in relations with Saudi Arabia
TEHRAN — Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that relations with Saudi Arabia have become a matter of significant concern in light of recent developments, Al-Arabiya.net reported. He emphasized that Tehran is keen on maintaining bilateral relations and ensuring that the Hajj season is not affected.
Araghchi emphasized that Iran will continue its fraternal relations with Saudi Arabia and will not allow any disruption to them.
"The issue of relations with Saudi Arabia is receiving critical attention due to the recent developments. I am in contact with our friends in the mission of the Supreme Leader as well as with the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, to ensure that there is no disruption to the process of sending Iranian pilgrims or Hajj-related arrangements," he said.
"We are completely serious about relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia. The neighborhood policy we initiated some time ago is a very important policy, and Saudi Arabia occupies a very important position in this policy," he added.
It is noteworthy that the visit of Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman to Iran and meeting top Iranian leaders last month was instrumental in further improving the bilateral relations between the two countries.
During his official visit to the Iranian capital, the Saudi minister met with Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, President Masoud Pezeshkian and Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Mohammad Bagheri.

Syria, Turkey Sign Defense Cooperation Deal after Ankara Talks
The Syrian Defense Minister signed a memorandum of understanding with his Turkish Counterpart on military training and consultancy after talks in Ankara on Wednesday, according to Reuters. Over the last few months, both countries had been negotiating a comprehensive military cooperation agreement to help rebuild the Syria after the fall of Al-Assad's regime in December. During the talks, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan accused Israel and the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) of obstructing the new government's efforts to rebuild Syria after over a decade of civil war. He said Israel had 'fueled certain difficulties' in Syria and cautioned that Israeli security 'cannot be achieved by undermining the security of neighboring countries.' Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his Syrian Counterpart Asaad Al-Shibani 'To the contrary, you should make sure your neighboring countries are prosperous and secure. Turkey considers the US-backed SDF a terrorist organization and has repeatedly noted that it expects the group to abide by the deal to disarm and integrate into Syria's state institutions. 'The SDF terrorist organization's attacks in the outskirts of Manbij and Aleppo against the Syrian government in recent days damage Syria's political unity and territorial integrity,' the source added. Iran president dismisses Netanyahu's call for uprising
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday hit out at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's call for Iranians to rise up against their government over power and water shortages. Netanyahu's video message on Tuesday came as Iran grapples with persistent water and electricity shortages amid spells of hot weather. It also came just two months after a 12-day war between the arch-foes, which began with Israel's unprecedented attack on Iranian military and nuclear infrastructure as well as residential areas. In his remarks, the Israeli premier called on Iranians to 'take risks for freedom', 'take to the streets' and demand accountability from the Iranian government. He suggested bringing Israeli water experts to provide 'cutting-edge technology and know-how' to Tehran. In a post on X, Pezeshkian hit out at Netanyahu. 'The regime that deprived the people of Gaza of water and food wants to bring water to the people of Iran? What a mirage!' said Pezeshkian. United Nations agencies have warned that famine is unfolding in the Gaza Strip, with Israel severely restricting the entry of aid. Images of sick and emaciated Palestinian children have drawn international outrage. Israel has denied the allegations. It has been fighting an intense and deadly war in the Palestinian territory against the militant group Hamas since October 2023. Netanyahu has a track record of producing such videos targeting Iran.
