Publix opens its 10th supermarket in the greater Boca Raton area
BOCA RATON — A new Publix opened May 1 west of Boca Raton, bringing the number of the grocer's locations in the greater Boca Raton area to more than 10.
The Florida-based grocer opened its newest location in its home state at The Greens, a shopping center just north of Glades Road on State Road 7.
"We are excited to welcome customers to their new Publix," Lindsey Willis, Publix media relations manager, said in a statement. "We look forward to introducing them to an array of new offerings and providing them with the service and quality products they know and love."
The new 33,679-square-foot store includes a full-service deli counter, a produce department with more than 200 artisan cheeses, a made-from-scratch bakery, a meat department with ready-to-cook items, a full-service seafood department with fresh sushi, a wine department and a full-service pharmacy.

In honor of the supermarket chain's 95th anniversary, Publix employees handed out commemorative reusable bags to the first 95 customers in line at the May 1 grand opening.
Publix at The Greens is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
The store's pharmacy hours are as follows:
Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Nine affluent Florida retirement towns also cracked the top 50. These towns and ranks are as follows: Naples (8), Lakewood Ranch (15), Palm Valley (21), Palm City (22), Palm Beach Gardens (28), Marco Island (38), Palmer Ranch (39), Estero (43) and East Lake (49). UBS faces $26B in capital requirements from Swiss bank reforms, Bloomberg says
UBS (UBS) is facing as much as $26B in capital requirements to be phased over the next decade under banking reform proposals from the Swiss government, Bastian Benrath-Wright and Noele Illien of Bloomberg reports. The largest hit to the bank is set to come from a proposal that would require the company to increase the capital held at home against its stakes in foreign units to 100% from the current 60%. The government estimates this will force UBS to add as much as $23B in capital to its Swiss-based main unit.
