Ashish Chanchlani recalls police questioning him first in India's Got Latent row: ‘Ranveer gum ho gaye…'

YouTuber and content creator Ashish Chanchlani got embroiled in controversy after Ranveer Allahbadia's remarks on India's Got Latent sparked outrage. In a recent interview with Faridoon Shahryar, Ashish recalled the 'scary time', revealing how he was the first to be questioned by police and even had to delay his shoot because of it. Ashish Chanchlani was one of the panellists on India's Got Latent show. Ashish Chanchlani on India's Got Latent Controversy When asked about India's Got Latent controversy, Ashish said, 'Those two months were turmoil. At that time, Samay was in Vancouver, they couldn't find Apoorva, and she was scared too — I still believe it wasn't her mistake. Ranveer (Allahbadia) ghum ho gaye (disappeared), so only I was left in Bandra, and the police knew where I lived, so they came to me first. As a witness, I had to record my statements with the police.' He revealed that he had never been in such a position before, as he generally avoids making jokes about religion or politics. He added that this was the first time controversy 'walked into his life' and that his parents were the most frightened. He further explained that he was on set when the controversy erupted, and his brother asked him to rush home. Ashish added, 'When I was reaching home, everyone on the street was looking at me. It was scary. It was difficult for me, but it was very difficult for Samay, Apoorva and others. There was a two-month circus. I hadn't even said anything; it was just me laughing. Now, how do I make them understand that I was laughing at Ranveer's stupidity, not his comment?' About the India's Got Latent controversy In February this year, Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani appeared on Samay Raina's India's Got Latent. During the episode, a comment by Ranveer about parents and sex did not sit well with a section of society. His remark sparked outrage, leading to FIRs being filed against Ranveer, Samay, Apoorva and Ashish. Following this, Samay removed all the episodes from YouTube. However, in April, the Supreme Court granted Allahbadia permission to resume his podcast, on the condition that he maintain decency. Meanwhile, Ashish was most recently seen in the music video Chandaniya, where he was paired opposite actor Elli AvrRam. Their chemistry won over fans. He has also announced his new project Ekaki, which he has written and directed. He shared on Instagram that the project will soon be available to watch on YouTube.

K-Pop Demon Hunters' HUNTRIX Makes History With 656 Perfect All-Kill Record

Last Updated: Huntrix, the fictional K-pop girl group from the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters, scored 656 Perfect All-Kills. Guess who's ruling the K-pop chart these days? Not BTS or BLACKPINK, but the fictional girl group HUNTR/X (Huntrix) from Netflix's hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters. Directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, the film's storyline and its soundtrack, including songs like Golden, Soda Pop and Your Idol, quickly became a fan favourite upon its release. The tracks have become such a global phenomenon that they have shattered records previously held by K-pop bigwigs like BTS and NewJeans. Since the release of KPop Demon Hunters on Netflix on June 20, the trio of Huntrix, Rumi, Zoey and Mira has taken over the global playlists. As reported by Pinkvilla, their catchy hit Golden, originally performed by Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, has now surpassed the record previously held by the popular K-pop girl group NewJeans. On Monday, August 11, at 10 AM KST, the song scored 656 Perfect All-Kills (PAKs), overtaking NewJeans' 2022 hit Ditto, which has the most number of hourly PAKs. If all goes well and in favour of the fictional K-pop girl group, there is a possibility that Golden might surpass the 700 PAK mark pretty soon. Other Artists To Have Perfect All-Kills Following the two K-pop girl groups is the supergroup BTS, which sits third on the list, having 610 PAKs for its song Dynamite. Other renowned K-pop artists on the chart are IU with 462 PAKs for her song Celebrity, followed by IVE with 359 PAKs for their song I AM. Next on the list is again IU for the track Love Wins All, with a PAK of 339. ZICO is also on the chart with a score of 330 for Any Song, and lastly, aespa, with 317 PAKs, is on the list for their song Supernova. What's A Perfect All-Kill? For those new to K-pop lingo, a Perfect All-Kill refers to a song that ranks No. 1 on all major Korean music charts, including Melon, Genie Music, YouTube Music, FLO, VIBE, and Bugs, across both daily and real-time categories. It is recorded by iCharts. What Is KPop Demon Hunters' Plot? Netflix's animated musical fantasy film revolves around a three-membered K-pop girl group called Huntr/x, who lead double lives. For the world, they are a K-pop band, but behind the scenes, the three girls, Rumi, Zoey and Mira, are demon hunters who seal them away with a barrier called the honmoon. As Huntrix rise to popularity, they face off against a rival boy band, called the Saja Boys, who are secretly demons. KPop Demon Hunters has garnered praise from both the audience and critics for its animation, voice acting, story, emotional weight, and music. = First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
