Former Roughrider Brendan Labatte involved in rollover during Estevan stock car race
Spectators at the Estevan Motor Speedway were witness to a concerning display Monday night – as former Saskatchewan Roughrider Brendon Labatte was involved in a serious rollover during night three of the Dakota Classic Modified Tour.
During one of the qualifying heats for the IMCA stock car feature, Labatte's vehicle rolled several times between turns one and two – narrowly missed several passing competitors.
One lap prior, Labatte's #57 car was struck after fellow driver JJ Barnstable spun out while leading the pack.
Labatte was able to exit his heavily damaged car with no help from first responders. He was seen speaking with safety officials before being taken off the track.

Labatte was drafted sixth overall by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 2008 CFL draft. The offensive lineman would continue with the blue and gold through four seasons – eventually being traded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2012.
During his eight seasons with the Riders, Labatte suited up for 119 games.
Originally from Weyburn, Labatte helped the Riders win the Grey Cup in 2013 and was named the CFL's top offensive lineman that season.
He was a six-time CFL all-star and a nine-time division all-star during his time in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
Labatte is a long-time racing enthusiast – being involved with the sport prior to his time in the CFL.
So far in the 2025 season, Labatte has recorded three top ten finishes and one in the top five.
