During the meeting, Badawi affirmed the government's commitment to working with strategic partners and fostering an attractive and stable investment climate. He noted that the achievements at the Sukari Mine stand as a successful model of partnership between the state and the private sector. The Minister also reiterated the Ministry's dedication to maintaining open channels of communication to address challenges and streamline procedures, especially following recent amendments to the Mineral Resources Law and the introduction of a new model for gold and mineral exploitation, which together open up fresh opportunities for investors.
For her part, Gillian Doran praised the notable progress made at the Sukari Mine, noting that her visit to the site marked a turning point, allowing her to witness first-hand the scale and quality of the operations. She highlighted that 97% of the workforce consists of highly skilled Egyptian professionals.
Doran also welcomed the positive outcomes of AngloGold Ashanti's acquisition of the mine, stating that it had strengthened the company's position among global gold producers, with the Sukari Mine playing a central role in this success.
The meeting further explored ways to deepen cooperation with the Egyptian government to expedite the granting of exploitation rights, particularly for start-ups, thereby broadening the mining investment base and boosting exploration activities—both within the Sukari concession and in newly awarded exploration areas.

Angola Advances National Road Plan with €85M Support from Africa Finance Corporation (AFC)
Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) ( the continent's leading infrastructure solutions provider, has closed and disbursed €75 million of an €85 million sovereign facility to Government of Angola, through the Ministry of Finance, to support the construction of 186 priority bridges and critical upgrades to the national road network. The project, part of Angola's National Development Plan (2023–2027), is aimed at reducing transportation costs, facilitating access to markets for agricultural producers, and creating approximately 900 direct jobs, while strengthening the resilience, efficiency, and inclusivity of Angola's transport system. Dubai Land Department signed a memorandum of cooperation with Masdar City, aiming to enable companies and establishments operating in the free zones under Masdar City to own land plots and properties under the freehold ownership system in Dubai, within a clear and comprehensive regulatory framework. This step is part of Dubai Land Department's efforts to enhance the competitiveness of the emirate's real estate market and expand the investor base by creating new opportunities for free zone companies, in line with the objectives of the Dubai Real Estate Strategy 2033. The MoC was signed by Majid Al Marri, CEO of the Real Estate Registration Sector at DLD, and Ahmed Baghoum, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar City, during an official ceremony held in Dubai, in the presence of several directors from both sides.
