Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the world's largest smelter on one site, announces the promotion of Saleem Helal Ali Yateem to Acting Manager, Casthouse Services, effective 16 June 2025.
Saleem Helal Ali Yateem's career at Alba began in 2008 as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. His dedication and exceptional technical acumen were instrumental in navigating complex maintenance landscapes and spearheading critical capital expenditure projects.
In his new role as Acting Manager Casthouse Services, Saleem will focus on guiding the Casthouse through dynamic market conditions to ensure the right value-added mix.

Saleem Helal Ali Yateem holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kuwait University, Masters in Engineering Management from University of Bahrain and a Master of Business Administration from Arabian Gulf University.

HRH Crown Prince Highlights Bahrain's Proactive Approach to Emergency Preparedness
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, reaffirmed Bahrain's strong commitment to peace and resolving crises through dialogue and diplomacy. He also pointed out the importance of strengthening partnerships with friendly and sister countries to protect shared interests and maintain regional security. Upon arriving at the center, the Crown Prince was welcomed by His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs. HRH reviewed the center's latest work, including its coordination with various departments within the ministry and Bahrain's diplomatic and consular missions abroad. The center plays a vital role in supporting Bahraini diplomacy, promoting peace, and safeguarding national security. The Crown Prince praised the dedication of Bahrain's national teams, highlighting their professionalism and ability to deliver excellence in all assigned duties. Investing in education
His Excellency Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, has approved several decisions for licensing, expansion, and adding new stages to the services of a number of private educational institutions, as part of the ministry's support for private sector investment in education. The approved decisions include licensing the establishment of 'Jood Kindergarten'; licensing the addition of Year 7 to Palms School, allowing it to accept more students; licensing the addition of the intermediate stage to Delmon Private School, allowing it to accept more students; and licensing the addition of the secondary stage to New Generation Private School, allowing it to accept more students. Dr. Juma emphasised that expanding the establishment of educational institutions in both the public and private sectors is key to providing high-quality national education and offering suitable options for students and parents. He added that the ministry will continue to regulate and support private education in line with approved policy, which focuses on providing good education and promoting Bahraini identity through national values, especially religion, customs, traditions, and established norms.
