Varied ways to lift up the memory of veterans who provided the ultimate sacrifice occurred in different places in different ways Monday as area communities found ways to commemorate Memorial Day. The ceremonies varied as much as the communities that sponsored them. Many continued traditions started decades ago and are repeated each year as a reminder of the abiding care for veterans. The village of Rock Creek showed up in force and marched south on Route 45 from High Street to Union Cemetery complete with the Jefferson Area High School Marching Band providing music. Ceremonies took place throughout the county, including Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva, Conneaut's War Memorial and Ashtabula's War Memorial as well as many small townships in between.

Tesla factory workers reveal surprising company directive before upcoming holiday — here's what they're saying
We all love a day or two off from work, but Tesla employees are reportedly starting to raise their eyebrows at the abundance of hourly cuts. As Business Insider reported, Tesla told workers on Model Y and Cybertruck lines not to come to work during the week of Memorial Day. The publication cited three Tesla employees at the Austin, Texas, factory. "The workers said their schedules had been increasingly inconsistent since February," Business Insider wrote. "Some said they had been sent home early on multiple occasions." The long upcoming break is a shock in itself, according to the report, as production lines were running during the same time frame last year. Moreover, the Austin factory has apparently been preventing employees from working overtime. While electric vehicle sales are high overall, Tesla's are on the decline, so it seems the company's 13% year-over-year drop in deliveries and plummeting stock have something to do with the schedule adjustments. According to Business Insider, "During the first quarter, Tesla reported it produced nearly 26,000 more EVs than it delivered, even after a drop in production of nearly 100,000 vehicles compared with the previous quarter." EVs are becoming a more prominent choice for drivers due to their eco-friendliness and cost-effectiveness, as they don't require oil changes, gas refueling, or the frequent maintenance of gas-powered cars. PlayStation's DualSense Edge wireless controller drops to a record-low price
Sony's latest Days of Play sale has kicked off. It features deals aplenty on PlayStation 5 consoles, accessories and games, as well as PS Plus subscriptions. One of the more intriguing discounts is for the PS5 DualSense Edge. The premium controller has dropped by 15 percent from $200 to $169. That's the lowest price to date for the peripheral. The deal is available on Amazon and from Sony directly. The layout apes that of the regular DualSense controller, but there's a lot more going on with the Edge. For instance, there are function buttons below each thumbstick that allow you to swap between button configurations (which you can customize at any time in the PS5 settings). On the rear, there are switches that enable you to change the pull length of the shoulder triggers. There are also rear paddles, and you can choose between a set of levers or shorter half-domes. It's possible to swap out the thumbsticks as well and, because they attach to the controller magnetically, it's a cinch to do so. Other than the standard nubs, you can choose between short-stemmed convex and long-stemmed convex options. There's also a cable lock that prevents you from accidentally removing the USB-C charging cable by accident. You might want to keep that cable plugged in. One of the major downsides of the DualSense Edge is its battery life. In our testing, we got around five to six hours of use on a single charge, less than the six or seven we get with the standard DualSense. Last but not least, the DualSense Edge comes with a hardshell carrying case. There's even a passthrough flap through which you can thread a USB-C cable to charge the controller while it's cocooned in the case. There are, of course, lots of other intriguing discounts in the Days of Play sale, including one on the standard PS5 DualSense controller. That has dropped to $55, which is $20 off the list price.
