Amazon Recall Update: Warning Over Multiple Products Sold Nationwide

Miami Herald11-07-2025
Amazon and several third-party vendors issued nationwide recalls for various children's products, including safety gates, crib bumpers, dressers and play yard mattresses.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported that the products, sold exclusively online on Amazon.com, posed hazards such as suffocation, entrapment and tip-over injuries. Each recall notice urged consumers to stop using the affected items immediately and offered refunds for products that are destroyed and documented with photos. No injuries have been reported from the recalled items.
Recalls are issued when concerns arise that a product is defective or potentially harmful in some way, such as when testing shows that foods are contaminated with potentially deadly bacteria or have been infected with a foreign object during the manufacturing process.
The recall of multiple child-focused products highlights continued risks associated with unregulated or noncompliant imports sold by third-party vendors on major online platforms. These latest recalls demonstrate that products violating federal standards remain available to U.S. consumers, underlining the importance of regulatory oversight and Amazon's marketplace responsibility.
Dearlomum Retractable Safety Gates
About 2,200 Dearlomum Retractable Safety Gates were recalled after being sold on Amazon between December 2024 and May for $33 to $38. The gates, distributed by Signbaby, can entrap a child's torso between the gate and floor, risking injury or death. The product violates federal regulations for children's gate safety. To receive a full refund, consumers must cut and destroy the gate and submit documentation to Signbaby.
AUGNORYE Padded Crib Bumpers
YIXIA recalled about 356 units of AUGNORYE Padded Cushioned Crib Bumpers on July 10. These products were sold from February to May on Amazon for $40 to $45. The CPSC found that the soft bumpers violated the federal ban on padded crib bumpers, presenting a suffocation risk that could create an unsafe sleep environment for infants. Refunds are offered when consumers cut and document destruction of the products.
Braided Crib Bumpers by Haoyunm
About 260 braided crib bumpers, imported by Haoyunm, were recalled for violating the same federal ban as the AUGNORYE product. Sold in various lengths and colors on Amazon from December 2024 to April, the unmarked bumpers are considered suffocation hazards. Customers are required to cut the product in half and provide evidence to receive a refund.
WLIVE Fabric Dressers
Jiangsu Zhi Pai Furniture Manufacturing Co. Ltd. recalled about 6,600 WLIVE Fabric 15-Drawer Dressers, sold for about $110 each between April 2024 and May 2025 on Amazon. The product is unstable and poses tip-over and entrapment risks unless anchored to a wall, violating the federal STURDY Act standard for clothing storage units, according to the CPSC. Refunds are processed after customers submit disposal documentation.
Creekliybear Play Yard Mattresses
Kbabyea recalled 21,500 Creekliybear aftermarket play yard mattresses. These products, sold online on Amazon for $28 to $40 from December 2024 to June, exceed federally mandated thickness requirements. They may not fit standard play yards, presenting a potential fatal entrapment hazard, the CPSC said. Refunds are processed for those providing proof of mattress destruction.
Amazon said on its product recall page: "Our Product Safety Team proactively investigates and addresses reported safety complaints and incidents to ensure customer protection from potential product-related safety risks. We closely monitor public recall alert websites and receive notifications from vendors and sellers. Upon discovering a product recall, we immediately halt affected product offerings, and promptly inform both customers and sellers involved about the recall."

It's not just a piece of furniture; it's the anchor, the quiet centerpiece that dictates whether your space leans chic hotel suite or chaotic college crash pad. And when you find one that looks designer without bleeding your bank account dry, it's the home decor equivalent of winning the lottery. Enter the Yaheetech Queen Bed Frame Upholstered Platform Bed with Fabric Headboard, which just so happens to be nearly half off on Amazon right now. It's a headboard that brings a sense of warmth and polish to a space, elevating even the simplest bedding. The platform base eliminates the need for a box spring, keeping the look (and your spending) streamlined. Advertisement It has that understated, tailored look you'd expect in a boutique hotel: clean lines, soft upholstery, and a headboard that inspired sophistication instead of shouting 'budget buy.' The fact that it comes in at a price point lower than what you'd spend on a single set of decent bedding is the real kicker. Amazon The Yaheetech frame is built with a sturdy wooden slat system that supports a mattress without sagging, plus an upholstered headboard that provides a plush backdrop for reading, scrolling, or simply admiring your well-put-together bedroom. It's designed to balance durability with design, with fabric that feels modern but not stiff, and a silhouette that reads elevated without being fussy. In other words, it's the rare kind of piece that could easily pass for something you'd see in a high-end catalog — just with a friendlier price tag. This affordable 10-inch Amazon tablet is 44% off today — yours for just $100

We've found some tablet deals for flagship devices, but we've also discovered offers that make budget-friendly models even more affordable. Here's one — the 64GB, ad-supported version of the latest release of the Amazon Fire HD 10 at 44% off, which brings its price down from $179 to just $100. That's $79 in savings if you buy the tablet from Amazon, but you have to hurry. That's because this special price is only available for a limited time, and once it's gone, we're not sure when you'll get another chance. Why you should buy the Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet The 2023 release of the Amazon Fire HD 10 isn't going to challenge the performance of the premium devices among the best tablets. However, if you're only planning to use it for daily activities such as browsing social media, watching streaming shows, and playing mobile games, its octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM will be more than enough. The tablet's 10.1-inch touchscreen offers Full HD resolution for sharp details and vivid colors, which makes it great for video, and its long-lasting battery can last up to 13 hours on a single charge. Compared to the Amazon Fire HD 10 2019, which is its predecessor, the Amazon Fire HD 10 2023 is 25% faster, and it's also more than 30 grams lighter for extra portability. Its front-facing camera has also been upgraded from 2MP to 5MP, so that you'll look clearer whenever you're joining video calls. Of course, the Amazon Fire HD 10 still supports Amazon's Alexa, allowing voice commands for a wide range of functions. The 64GB, ad-supported Amazon Fire HD 10 is already perfect for shoppers on a tight budget at its original price of $179, but it's an even more attractive option right now following Amazon's 44% discount. It's on sale for only $100, but you need to act fast if you want to pocket the savings of $79. This limited-time deal may disappear at any moment, so if the Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet is perfect for your needs, we highly recommend push ingforward with your transaction for it right away.

US soybean farmers hope Brazil probe can help rebuild Chinese market

American soybean farmers have lost billions of dollars worth of sales in China and other markets because of President Donald Trump's first trade war in 2018. Now, they hope his trade actions against their archrival Brazil will help bring back that export market. In particular, they are cheering the Trump administration's new investigation into Brazilian farmers' conversion of Amazon forestland into new soybean acreage — a long-term practice that accelerated last decade when China turned to Brazil to replace American suppliers. Advertisement 'As a result of the trade war and the incentives it provided to Brazil to significantly increase production, the U.S. soybean industry now faces enormous competition with Brazil in every export market, not just China,' Caleb Ragland, president of the American Soybean Association, told the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative in a set of comments this week regarding the investigation.
