The Los Angeles Dodgers have battled a lot of injuries this season, yet they've remained near the top of the National League.
Now, with around 50 games left in the season, the Dodgers' injured players are beginning to return to Los Angeles, making it quite a scary scene for the rest of the league.
But for the Dodgers, there's going to be a bit of a roster crunch when these players begin returning.
Sam Phalen of Dodgers Way recently predicted the Dodgers would send infield prospect Alex Freeland back to Triple-A when the injured players begin to return to the big league roster.

TAMPA, FLORIDA - AUGUST 3: Alex Freeland #76 of the Los Angeles Dodgers in defensive position at third base in the first inning during a game against the Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field on August 3, 2025 in Tampa, Florida. More"It has been fun watching shortstop prospect Alex Freeland get his first taste of the big leagues over the last week. Freeland is the No. 3 prospect in the Dodgers organization, and he's had himself a solid 2025 season in Triple-A," Phalen wrote. "He was more than deserving of a shot once Hyeseong Kim went down, but I don't see Los Angeles moving on from a veteran infielder to keep Freeland in the big leagues.
"I'd bet Freeland, who is batting .286 with a .624 OPS in six games, is sent back to Triple-A upon Kim's return. We'll probably see him back in MLB once rosters expand at the beginning of September."
When infielder Hyeseong Kim returns, Freeland is likely heading to Triple-A, as Phalen points out, but there's a chance that the young infielder could become a staple on the roster by next season.
Freeland is very talented, but he's still young and needs to polish his game a bit. The Dodgers could look to use him down the stretch if injuries spark up at all, but his time with the Dodgers may be coming to an end this year, if everybody can get and stay healthy.

Dodgers unveil Kobe Bryant bobblehead

The post Dodgers unveil Kobe Bryant bobblehead appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Los Angeles Dodgers find ways to merge themselves with the legacy of Kobe Bryant. When they won the 2024 World Series, their 8th in franchise history, they put two and two together. Los Angeles will continue to honor the late Lakers legend by unveiling a Kobe Bryant bobblehead, per L.A. sportswriter Matthew Moreno. They will give it away during their game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Aug. 8. The defending champion Dodgers are currently 56-38. They are five games ahead of the San Francisco Giants in the National League West. Bryant played all of his 20 seasons (1996-2016) in the NBA with the Lakers. During that stretch, he won five championships (2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, and 2020) and became one of the most popular fixtures in L.A. sporting culture. Not to mention, becoming a global sporting icon with transcendent appeal. On January 26, 2020, Bryant, his 13 year daughter Gianna, and seven others were killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. The bobblehead is the latest in a long litany of mutual respect and affection the Dodgers and Bryant shared for one another. The connection between the Dodgers and Kobe Bryant Throughout his life in Los Angeles, Bryant was frequent attendee at Dodgers Stadium. In 2000, he threw out the first pitch shortly after the Lakers won the NBA title. He did the same thing before the start of the 2015 season. In 2018, Bryant attended the World Series and read the Dodgers' lineup. Plus, it turned out that Bryant played a role in recruiting Shohei Ohtani. In 2017, they reportedly had Bryant record a video to encourage the Japanese baseball sensation to chose Los Angeles. The team reciprocated their appreciation for him posthumously. Pitcher Blake Snell donned mismatched cleats that were official Kobe 6's. Enrique Hernandez honored Bryant with a home run and a win on Kobe Bryant Day in 2024. Coincidently, Hernandez wore No. 8. That same year, Bryant daughter Bianka followed in her father's footsteps and threw out the first pitch before a game. His widow Vanessa Bryant and daughter Natalia were in attendance for Game 6 of the NLCS. They witnessed the Dodgers defeat the New York Mets to advance to the World Series. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. shows Kobe Bryant love before Dodgers series

The post Vladimir Guerrero Jr. shows Kobe Bryant love before Dodgers series appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Toronto Blue Jays are set to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first contest of a three-game series on Friday evening. L.A. is doing something special for Los Angeles Lakers fans in Friday's matchup, featuring Kobe Bryant. As a result, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. arrived at the stadium showing the NBA legend support. Guerrero, who is 26 years old, arrived at Dodger Stadium wearing a Lakers shirt featuring Kobe Bryant and some of his former teammates. The Blue Jays star is certainly channeling his inner Kobe while he visits Los Angeles during the weekend. The Dodgers are giving out Kobe Bryant bobbleheads to fans on Friday night. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. lived in L.A. for several years as a child in the early 2000s when his father played for the Los Angeles Angels from 2004 through 2009. That means Guerrero Jr. likely watched Kobe Bryant and the Lakers as a child while living in the city in the early part of his childhood. It's cool to see Guerrero rep Bryant ahead of his matchup against the Dodgers. It'll be a tough test, as both teams are in first place in their respective divisions. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Blue Jays hope to earn their fourth win in a row after just sweeping the Colorado Rockies in a three-game series. The five-time All-Star is having another solid season for the Blue Jays. After signing a new 14-year, $500 million contract, Vladimir Guerrero is owning a .296 batting average and .398 OBP while recording 128 hits, 18 home runs, and 62 RBIs so far this season. He's currently on a three-game hitting streak that he hopes to extend to four against the Dodgers. Toronto will hope to spoil L.A. fans' desires for the Dodgers to win and pull off a victory in this series, as the Blue Jays aim to remain ahead of the Boston Red Sox in the AL East. Kobe Bryant's daughter Bianka throws out first pitch on her father's bobblehead night

The post Kobe Bryant's daughter Bianka throws out first pitch on her father's bobblehead night appeared first on ClutchPoints. On Friday, the love was felt for Kobe Bryant at his bobblehead night at Dodger Stadium. Before the game, his daughter Bianka Bryant threw out the first pitch. Wearing a jersey with her father's No.8, she threw the ball down the middle to Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman, per ESPN. In addition, Toronto Blue Jays' slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. donned a shirt featuring the Lakers legend. Fittingly, the game was held on the date August 8 (8/8). Last year, Bianka threw out the first pitch before the Dodgers game against the Tampa Bay Rays. On that day, August 25, the Dodgers won 3-1. On Friday, the Dodgers defeated the Blue Jays 5-1. As of now, the defending World Series champions are 67-49 and lead the National League West by three games. Bianka, 8, was born in December 2016 to Kobe and his wife Vanessa. She was the third out of the couple's three daughters. On January 26, 2020, Kobe along with his 13 year old daughter Gianna 'Gigi' Bryant were tragically killed in helicopter crash in Calabasas, California along with eight others. Since then, Vanessa has gone out of her way to create a sense of normality for oldest daughter Natalia, Bianka, and the youngest daughter Capri. The ever growing profile of Bianka Bryant Since the death of her father and sister, Bianka has become somewhat of a public presence. In 2023, Taylor Swift gave Bianka a hug and hat during her Eras Tour concert in Los Angeles. Her mother Vanessa and her sisters are often seen present at both Dodgers and Lakers games. Her father was a huge Dodgers fan and had thrown out the first pitch on numerous occasions. After the tragedy, the Dodgers paid homage to Bryant in various ways. Players wear his jersey number, fans chant out 'Kobe! Kobe!', etc. Altogether, looking out for Bianka and the family continues that.
