DEREK CHISORA claims Daniel Dubois QUIT against Oleksandr Usyk — but now he wants to help him take up the British heavyweight torch.
Chisora was ringside as the Ukraine icon stopped 27-year-old Dubois in the fifth round of Saturday night's undisputed decider at Wembley.

And he knows how incredible Usyk, 38, is after losing a close points decision against him in 2020.
Del Boy does not use the Q-word lightly — knowing the stigma and stench it carries in boxing.
But he believes ex-IBF champion Dubois — who he sparred with as an amateur lad — can recover and fill the Brit void he, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will leave behind.
On SunSport's Split Decision YouTube show, Chisora, 41, explained: 'For me, he quit.

'The biggest stage of your life, for undisputed, we're in the game of getting hit in the head. You get up and fight again.
'He got up and walked back to his corner, normally. His corner chucked the towel in because they knew he wanted to come out.
'He was supposed to give it one last hurrah before he gets knocked out — just go in there and chuck everything that he could.
'We're in the game of fighting and you have to go to the well when you have to. People have spent hard-earned money to watch you.

'You just go out on your shield. This is why we're having a go at him because we are gonna say what we need to say: 'You didn't go out on your shield.''
Fury, 36, sent Dubois a message reminding him of his achievements and offering him a place at his Morecambe gym any time.

But Chisora feels tough love is the only way to get Dubois' heart as big and powerful as his biceps.
And Chisora blasted: 'That's a f***ing bulls*** message as Tyson knows to go out on his shield.
'If you're going to lose properly, you go out on your shield. We just cannot sugarcoat it.
'I've had 49 fights, have you ever seen me quit? Exactly. I just don't know how to quit. Tyson is not a quitter, AJ is not a quitter. Daniel did not get up as he did not want no more.
'They have to fix that. We're not talking badly — but it will happen again and again and again.'

It sounds brutal but Chisora is trying to be kind by being cruel.
He added: 'The first time I sparred Daniel was years ago when he was an amateur and he whooped my arse.
'I got him back again . . . and he whooped my arse again. Got him back again, he whooped my arse.
'If he trains differently, he'd whoop everybody's arse. He whooped my arse badly before he turned pro.
'Right now, he trains by himself, but when you hang out with other killers, you want to be a killer.
'He's never going to leave his dad, we don't want him to, we want him to train with other fighters, that's it.
'Dubois was the guy we were trying to hand the torch to. Fury, me and AJ are nearly gone, so he was THE guy — our guy.
'We asked him to represent us and he is that guy.'

Lord Allen proposals given full support of Jockey Club

Allen was due to take up the role on June 2 but his tenure was delayed as the BHA said he wished to 'continue meeting stakeholders to better inform his vision for the sport'. The BHA board currently has an independent chair, four independent directors and four member-nominated directors – two from the racecourses and two nominated by the sport's participants – but Allen wants to change that arrangement. Racecourses' ownership of media rights and fixtures is reportedly one of the sticking points for a proposed governance shake-up, but Jockey Club CEO Jim Mullen feels that while further discussion on such matters is necessary, it would be to the sport's benefit to create a 'stronger regulatory body'. He said: 'Without a strong regulator it's not possible for any sport to thrive and that's why we are fully supportive of Lord Allen's proposals for a fully independent BHA Board. 'There are still details on certain issues which will need to be thrashed out in time and to expect everyone to agree on everything would be unrealistic at best, a potential barrier to meaningful change at worst. 'We recognise that ownership of media rights and fixtures are extremely important to the profitably of racecourses and that's where we are aligned with small and large independent courses and RCA members. 'However, we don't believe that those views are incompatible with our strongly held opinion that British racing requires a fully independent regulator which is empowered to drive change, not only to benefit the sport now but for generations to come. 'We're supportive of the consultative approach that Lord Allen is taking and the importance he has placed on taking counsel from those across the sport before forming an opinion. Ultimately, whether Lord Allen takes up his role or not, a process has started which we think has the very real potential to create a stronger regulatory body.'

Jamie Vardy to Celtic transfer curveball would throw up Mission Impossible scenario for Rangers

The Premier League icon is still without a club after calling time on his incredible 13 years with Leicester City earlier this summer Whispers of Jamie Vardy making a sensational switch to Rangers refuse to go away. ‌ But Paul Dickov reckons Celtic would be truly uncatchable if Brendan Rodgers lured the Premier League icon to Parkhead. ‌ Vardy, 38, is still a free agent after departing Leicester City as the club's greatest-ever player at the end of last season. ‌ The former England goal machine has been linked with the likes of Man United and Newcastle, as well as a transfer north of the border. But ex-Foxes hero Dickov believes the veteran hitman would be a formidable signing for five-in-a-row chasing Celtic. Vardy played under Rodgers at the King Power Stadium and with Celts in the market for more firepower, Dickov has no doubt he would fire the Hoops to title no.56. He told WDW Bingo: "Jamie Vardy at 38, has still got a hell of a lot to offer. He's still got the hunger, and real desire in his game. "I'm sure he has plenty of offers from clubs all over the world, but wherever he chooses will gain a Premier League legend and a wealth of experience. "Aside from his experience, his goal-scoring hasn't slowed down. He scored nine goals last season in a poor Leicester team in the most challenging league in the world, so he will score plenty wherever he moves. ‌ "It's difficult to pinpoint where Jamie is going to land, but it could be a real swing in the next couple of seasons of the Scottish Premiership. "If he went to Celtic, it would make it even more difficult for the rest of the teams to catch them. I would go as far as to say borderline impossible. ‌ "However, if he chose Rangers, he could really drag them closer to Celtic with the goals he would score. "If he signs for Rangers, Scotland would have a really competitive league next season, which would be great to watch and draw eyes to the games. "That's how big a factor he could be, and people keep talking about his age, but he is chasing down defenders as well as he was ten years ago, from what I can see. "Whoever signs Vardy will have a fantastic asset who will guarantee goals and energy from the front."

Like buying money – The two odds-on ‘steering jobs' tipped to leave bookies in tears at Glorious Goodwood

The market suggests they can't get beat BANKERS Like buying money – The two odds-on 'steering jobs' tipped to leave bookies in tears at Glorious Goodwood Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ANTE-POST punting is a dangerous road littered with torn betslips and shattered dreams. But every now and then a seemingly golden opportunity presents itself. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Field Of Gold is getting shorter and shorter in the market - but will surely be the good thing of Goodwood and feature in every rolling multiple for the week Credit: PA Too good to be true? Maybe. But unless you take the plunge you'll never know. Punters who like to smash into favourites at very short prices will often talk about the notion of 'buying money'. It doesn't always work. Just this week we saw 2-13 Royal Ascot runner-up Thesecretadversary beaten by a 28-1 outsider. But you'd hope there would be fewer chances for things to go so seismically wrong in Group 1s. And that's where John Gosden's Field Of Gold and Aidan O'Brien's Illinois come in. Both are currently odds-on for their respective races at next week's Glorious Goodwood. Field Of Gold, who perhaps should have won the 2,000 Guineas, and definitely did win the Irish 2,000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes, is a best-price 1-2 to win the Sussex Stakes next Wednesday. His big market rival - and second-fav - Rosallion was a big drifter on the Betfair Exchange and could be sent elsewhere. Illinois was second to Trawlerman in last month's Ascot Gold Cup. But he is a proven Group-level performer - albeit he has always come up short in Group 1s - and last finished outside the top two in April 2024 - NINE races ago. He is a best-price 8-11 to win the 2m feature next Tuesday. There is a chance O'Brien could run recent brilliant Newmarket scorer Scandinavia instead. But this looks a golden opportunity for Illinois to get his Group 1, with 4-1 second-fav French Master moving up from handicaps. Backing shorties in a double like this wouldn't be my go-to method of punting. But if you put the pair together now you'd still get better than evens, with a £20 punt returning £48.44 with Ladbrokes.
