Japanese theater chain T-Joy has partnered with Studio Ufotable to release a limited-edition popcorn bucket for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle.
The collectible is shaped like a film reel. It features a rotating inner layer that displays artwork and memorable scenes from the franchise. The bucket will be available at participating Japanese theaters starting July 18, 2025. This date also marks the domestic premiere of Infinity Castle Part 1. The listed price is ¥2,900 (approximately $20 USD).
While rare for anime films to offer collectible popcorn buckets, similar promotions have occurred. In 2022, One Piece Film: Red offered a Gum-Gum Fruit-shaped bucket in Japanese cinemas.
This trend follows the success of movie-themed buckets in the West, including those for Dune: Part II. Crunchyroll's Chief Content Officer Asa Suehira said, 'Infinity Castle will also be released on an unprecedented scale. I believe it will be a milestone in theatrical anime.'
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle adapts the 'Infinity Castle' subarc of Koyoharu Gotouge's manga, beginning the final arc titled 'The Final Battle.' The film follows Tanjiro Kamado and the Demon Slayer Corps as they enter Muzan Kibutsuji's fortress for the concluding showdown. Haruo Sotozaki is the director of the film, with animation and writing by Ufotable. Two theme songs accompany the film: 'A World Where the Sun Never Rises' by Aimer and 'Shine in the Cruel Night' by LiSA.

How One Artist Is Transforming an Ancient Taiwanese Folk Craft
Alemani first encountered Zhang Xu's work last year while on an art-prize jury and was struck by his craftsmanship and detail. 'It seems quite simple, but it's actually incredibly sophisticated in the making,' she tells Vogue. 'What I loved was this balance between an almost fairy-tale atmosphere and something quite ritualistic and traditional that belongs very much to his family and country.' She found it a perfect match with MOIFA: 'There is something about folk art that feels very popular in a good way, in a way that is not too detached. I wanted that to translate in this installation—something that could be approached by kids and the usual visitors but also by contemporary-art-world people. Contemporary art can create new ways of seeing the amazing collection already there.' The boundaries between folk and contemporary art have long been fluid, from 1940s Art Brut; to feminist and conceptual artists reclaiming craft, ritual, and domestic traditions in the '60s and '70s; to the present, when museums and art fairs have fully embraced folk-informed contemporary practices. Today artists from Ai Weiwei and Nick Cave to El Anatsui, Kimsooja, and Jeffrey Gibson have drawn from or engaged with folk-art traditions. For Zhang Xu, however, 'Taiwanese ceremonial crafts were never considered art in my childhood—it was part of survival.' He admits to at times longing to escape the practice—though he's found freedom creating from his vision instead of fulfilling customer requests. They've been a part of my life for so long that I interact with them intuitively. I'm not looking at them from a distance but from lived experience.' For example, in Taiwan paper puppets are often displayed standing reverently at funerals. But in his home, where for storage they were tucked away in every available corner, 'they would often hang from the ceiling waiting to be sold, almost like bats. These everyday memories help me avoid cliché readings of tradition and instead find new ways of interpreting them.' Zhang Xu says that his father, who still works the family trade, doesn't quite understand his son's career—he criticizes his animals as not being realistic enough—but has heard friends mention his accolades. The artist has had several solo shows in Asia and participated in group exhibitions and film festivals there and in Europe; the High Line in New York screened his films earlier this year. He's also at work on a new film about water lanterns in different Asian traditions, from India to Vietnam, China, and Japan.

‘Castlevania: Nocturne' Season 1 Blu-Ray Review: Vive La Révolution
One of the most beloved Castlevania games, Rondo of Blood, has received an amazing adaptation, and this Blu-ray release does not disappoint. The first four seasons of the original Castlevania animated series were loosely inspired by Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. While the dropped one of the game's characters, Grant Danasty, it was still a thematically faithful version in animated form. When it comes to Nocturne, again, it's loosely inspired by Castlevania: Rondo of Blood but goes its own way, and includes elements from the French Revolutionary Wars. This is because Rondo of Blood was set very specifically in 1792, which Nocturne takes as its backdrop and fleshes it out further. Naturally, this all dovetails into events from Symphony of the Night, with the inclusion of Alucard, again voiced magnificently by James Callis. Although the Symphony of the Night elements are more groundwork than anything else, I doubt we will see that really tackled for another few seasons. Although it does introduce Olrox, who was a boss in Symphony of the Night, as a vampire that Richter's mother faced when he was a child, it is a nice bit of narrative foreshadowing if you're familiar with the games. In any case, Nocturne ups the ante in terms of the action and the animation. This is arguably one of the best-looking animated series that outshines most modern Japanese-made anime. This is especially impressive considering that Rondo of Blood and the Castlevania series as a whole are staunchly Japanese in origin. The first season for 'Castlevania: Nocturne' looks and sounds amazing on Blu-ray. This time around, though, we have a new Belmont, by the name of Richter, as well as Maria Renard, who is also a magic user like Sypha was. The first season is also pretty tightly paced and covers a lot of ground in terms of dealing with the new main villain, but if you're new to the animated adaptations of Castlevania, you can drop in without having seen the first four seasons of the previous show. One standout character this time around, though, is Juste Belmont, originally from Harmony of Dissonance, which chronologically pre-dates the events of Rondo of Blood. That means he's a more seasoned fellow here than in the game, and Iain Glen does a great job of depicting an older Belmont. As for this Blu-ray release, apart from some storyboards, animatics, and galleries, it's pretty barebones. That said, the audio and visual quality are excellent. Naturally, the music by Trevor Morris is also amazing and worth mentioning, as it pays tribute to the original gaming musical scores, especially the epic Divine Bloodlines track from Rondo of Blood. Considering this was originally streamed on Netflix, having Nocturne's first season available on Blu-ray only helps to show just how good the animation for this series really is. Castlevania: Nocturne Season 1 is available on Blu-ray via Amazon for $16.99. You can also play Castlevania Requiem on PlayStation 4 for $19.99, which also contains both Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night.
