Looking Ahead: A Release Calendar of Upcoming Albums in 2025

Long before 2025 even kicked off, many artists were already starting to tease fans, hinting or downright saying they should expect new music in the upcoming year. More from Billboard Michael Clifford Scores Solo ARIA Top 10 Debut With 'Sidequest' Homixide Gang Return With 25-Track Album 'Homixide Lifestyle 2': Stream It Now Skegss Cover Sheryl Crow's 'If It Makes You Happy' for 'Like A Version' Take The Weeknd, for example. The artist born Abel Tesfaye began teasing his fans on Jan. 7, 2024, via social media. In an Instagram carousel, he shared the covers for After Hours and Dawn FM, followed by a black square with a giant white question mark in the center and a tiny parental advisory sticker in the bottom left. His caption? A single '3.' He finally revealed the title of the final album of his trilogy — Hurry Up Tomorrow — in September, and the day before Thanksgiving, shared its release date. But on Jan. 13, the musician announced that due to the deadly Los Angeles area wildfires, he was canceling his Jan. 25 Rose Bowl concert, and also delaying his album out of respect and concern for those in the impacted areas. Then there was Lady Gaga. Mother Monster surprised the Little Monsters with a simple message at the end of the Gaga Chromatica Ball concert film, confirming that her seventh album is indeed in the works: 'LG7 GAGA RETURNS.' But the tease, which debuted on the HBO Max film in late May, did not offer any hints as to when the highly anticipated release would arrive. It wasn't until her September Vogue cover story that Gaga revealed LG7 would arrive sometime in February 2025. Mayhem would eventually drop on March 7. And of course, things don't always go as planned. Joe Jonas announced in July 2024 that his new solo album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, would arrive Oct. 18, then shared in a September X post that the set 'is gonna come out later now' because he wanted to add some 'final touches.' (It arrived May 23.) With surprise album news, moving release dates and the sheer number of album announcements, it can be hard to stay on top of when new music by favorite artists is arriving. To help make sure fans don't miss out on big arrivals, Billboard's calendar of 2025 new album releases — which will include the most notable releases from artists across genres, spanning hip-hop, K-pop, Latin, rock, pop, country and more — will be updated regularly as new music is announced. The calendar is organized chronologically by month and week, and includes a section for albums that artists have announced, but have not given an exact release date. Billboard Charts First-Timers: Audrey Hobert, Michael Clifford & More Earn First Chart Entries

Across Billboard's 200-plus charts this week (dated Aug. 9, 2025), there's a fresh wave of artists who make their first-ever chart appearances. This week's list includes a singer-songwriter behind several tracks on Gracie Abrams' album The Secret of Us, the lead vocalist and guitarist for 5 Seconds of Summer, a rising dembow bélico star out of Mexico, and a yacht rock cover band that debuts with an original song. Take a look at the eclectic bunch below. More from Billboard Paloma Mami Returns Full Force with New Album & Management: 'I Was In A Box For A Long Time' Offset Says He Knew About Cardi B's 'Outside' Before Its Release: 'Everything Be a Timing Thing' New Cynthia Erivo-Led 'Jesus Christ Superstar' Spurs Huge Gains for Prior Cast Albums Through the Decades Audrey Hobert The singer-songwriter makes her Billboard chart debut this week with her first single, 'Sue Me,' which enters the Pop Airplay chart at No. 39 with a 29% gain in plays in the July 25-31 tracking week, according to Luminate. While the RCA Records single marks Hobert's first chart hit as a recording artist, she previously charted as a songwriter on several songs from Gracie Abrams' The Secret of Us. Hobert co-wrote seven songs on the album, which hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in July 2024. Three of those songs — 'That's So True' (No. 6 peak), 'I Love You, I'm Sorry (No. 19) and 'Risk' (No. 94) — charted on the Billboard Hot 100. 'That's So True' was a major milestone for Abrams and Hobert, also hitting No. 1 on Pop Airplay and Adult Pop Airplay and reaching the top five on the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts. Hobert has released two other solo songs so far — 'Bowling Alley' (June 20) and 'Wet Hair' (July 23) — but she's been performing several other unreleased songs on her Wanna Hear a Bunch of Songs I Wrote? Tour. Her debut album, Who's the Clown?, is due Aug. 15. Notably, Hobert's brother is fellow Billboard chart newcomer Malcolm Todd. He charted on the Hot 100 for the first time in April with his breakthrough single 'Chest Pain (I Love)' (No. 68 peak). Michael Clifford Thanks to his solo debut album Sidequest, Michael Clifford becomes the fourth and final member of 5 Seconds of Summer to chart as a solo artist. Released July 25 via Hopeless Records, Sidequest opens at No. 15 on Top Album Sales with 5,000 copies sold in the United States in its opening week. Of that sum, 2,000 were in vinyl, landing it at No. 19 on the Vinyl Albums chart. He also debuts at No. 5 on Emerging Artists. 5SOS had an impressive run in the 2010s. The band charted seven albums on the Billboard 200, six of which reached the top five and three of which hit No. 1: 5 Seconds of Summer (2014), Sounds Good Feels Good (2015) and Youngblood (2018). The group has charted 15 hits on the Hot 100, including the 2018 top 10 'Youngblood.' The band's drummer, Ashton Irwin, was the first member to chart solo, when he reached No. 77 on Top Current Album Sales with Superbloom in 2020. Vocalist Luke Hemmings was next, as he's charted two solo projects: his debut solo album When Facing the Things We Turn Away From reached No. 124 on the Billboard 200 in 2021, and his EP Boy peaked at No. 99 on the Billboard 200 in 2024. Bassist Calum Hood was the third, when his album ORDER chaos ORDER reached No. 179 on the Billboard 200 in June. Victor Mendivil The 19-year-old Mexican rapper earns his first U.S. Billboard chart entry this week with his new album Tutankamon, which he released July 24 on Oscar Maydon's Rico o Muerto Music label. The set opens at No. 9 on the Latin Rhythm Albums chart and No. 19 on Top Latin Albums with 6,000 units, and features collaborations with other high-profile Mexican artists, including Natanael Cano, Luis R Conriquez and Gabito Ballesteros. Mendivil is among the fresh faces of dembow bélico music, a genre that blends fast-paced hip-hop-inspired beats with the traditional sounds of regional Mexican music. While this is Mendivil's U.S. debut, he's already charted eight songs on the Mexico Songs chart, which is part of Billboard's Hits of the World collection. Yächtley Crëw The nautical-themed yacht rock revivalists are now officially Billboard-charting artists thanks to their original song, 'Pain of Losing You,' which was by written 16-time Academy Award nominee Diane Warren. The track enters the Adult Contemporary airplay chart at No. 28 and is slated to appear on the band's upcoming album Seas the Night, which largely includes covers of soft rock staples from the '70s and '80s, including Toto's 'Hold the Line,' Hall & Oates' 'You Make My Dreams' and Steely Dan's 'Reelin' in the Years.' Formed in 2017, Yächtley Crëw quickly built a cult following with high-energy covers of soft rock favorites from the yacht rock era. The band has maintained a residency at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and was spotlighted in HBO's Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary, which was released last November and also featured Michael McDonald, Christopher Cross and Toto. 'Bachelorette' alum Katie Thurston, 34, says she 'will have breast cancer forever' but that she's 'very optimistic' about her future

The reality TV star gave fellow Bachelor Nation alum Kaitlyn Bristowe an update about her stage four cancer, marriage and future plans. Katie Thurston is reflecting on her breast cancer journey, explaining how it has impacted her health, relationship and future plans. The 34-year-old former Bachelorette star opened up during a chat with Canadian reality TV star Kaitlyn Bristowe last week, detailing how her life has changed since revealing her diagnosis in February. During an episode of Bristowe's "Off The Vine" podcast released on July 29, Thurston explained how she's been going through numerous life changes this year. That's included getting married to comedian Jeff Arcuri, moving states and adopting a new puppy named Charlie. However, she's also faced the ups and downs of her cancer diagnosis. Below, learn some of highlights we've learned from Thurston's chat with Bristowe, from how she's being treated for cancer and the disease's impact on her relationship, to whether it runs in her family and if she plans to get a mastectomy down the road. She's taking 4 pills daily — plus a monthly jab On top of getting a monthly shot that suppresses her ovaries so she can possibly do in vitro fertilization down the road, Thurston noted she takes four pills every day for cancer treatment. "Chemo is not just a one-size-fits-all [treatment]," she added. "There are different types of chemical therapy. With the type of cancer I have and because it's stage four, I don't know how to better describe it but [it's] like 'maintenance.'" However, she said the good news is that she recently had her three-month checkup and her tumours have shrunk, meaning her treatment is now more about maintenance. "On the liver, where it had spread to, you can't even see it on a chart, so this is really, really working for me." Mentally, she said she's a big believer in sleeping and thinking well. In turn, she tries to see things positively and manifests for good outcomes in her life. "Every night, I picture a little Pac-Man just eating away at this little devil," she explained, as she made the sound from the video game. Still, that doesn't mean she doesn't let herself get down — but only because she believes it's healthy to feel her feelings. "I think you just have to allow yourself to spiral. You can't just bottle it up. ... You just have to go through the highs and lows and know that that's constant. There's no finish line in this healing journey. It's just a constant ebb and flow." Memory loss is her 'hardest' hurdle For her, she shared her memory loss is "probably the hardest" thing she's had to overcome since she was diagnosed with cancer. She noted she luckily has lots of flexibility in her work life since her career revolves around social media, brand deals and being in the influencer space. For instance, she can often tell her team she might've forgotten to make a post online yet she's still offered some leeway. "But if I was working at the bank, 100 per cent I would have to go on disability, and I would qualify because you don't have the mind function to properly, safely do a job like banking," she indicated. She also reflected on brain fog being frustrating in her life, where she recalled an argument she was having with her husband and explained how something had happened before. Her partner questioned and asked her to provide an example. "I go, 'I literally can't remember, but I promise you it has.' And three days later, I was like, 'Hey, remember that fight we had? I remember now. It was this.'" Cancer has helped improved her relationship Thurston married Arcuri, 37, in a backyard ceremony on Sunday, March 22. It was five days before Thurston was set to begin treatment for her then-stage three breast cancer. They got engaged in August 2024 on a beach in Hawaii, and they hosted an engagement party later that November. But speaking to Bristowe, she explained she thinks her health journey has helped them grow as a couple. "We really had to push our relationship further than other people had to. And we have had really tough conversations, but we've worked through them each time. I don't feel like we're going backwards," she shared, explaining a lot of couples may split or see some backtracking in their relationships amid big health news. "It's a big statistic, especially with women diagnosed, the men leave ... and he did the opposite. He married me," she said, explaining how Arcuri has been there with her through some of the hardest times in her journey. "He is something I'm most proud of," she stated. "I will start crying, but the way that he's shown up in a world that he is not familiar [with]. ... He has made so many sacrifices and has done so much for me and has learned and adapted. I don't know, this to me felt like a relief, he was like, 'This year I'm just gonna pay our rent. You could just focus on your health.'" Her cancer is incurable, but she's 'optimistic' When asked if she ever gets sick of talking about her health, Thurston responded saying she doesn't think so, especially since it's such a new journey and she seems to get an update roughly every month. "My hope for the future is that, whether it's this year or next year, that I'll be like, 'Hey guys, there's no evidence of disease.'" She explained that technically, stage four breast cancer isn't curable. "Technically, medically, I will have breast cancer forever. But with so many advancements happening and the way that I caught it when I did, I'm very optimistic." She plans to get breast implants She added the plan was to see if the medicine she was given was working. Since it is, her health-care provider told her to wait three more months and then she can get a double mastectomy. She then noted she thinks she wants to get implants afterward. "With petite women, sometimes it can be too much," she explained about implants. "So it's been a challenge of, I worked my whole life to finally be confident in my breast era, and then you're telling me I've got to chop them off and get some new ones?" With no breast cancer history, she urges self-advocacy Thurston noted that breast cancer isn't in her family history. In turn, she wants people to be more proactive about checking their breasts and pushing their health-care providers on getting them explored further. "I think a lot of people get brushed off," she explained when it comes to asking about your own health. She further shared that even doing online research about her symptoms wasn't really helpful. She recalled looking up whether breast cancer hurts because her lump was painful. She noted she saw answers saying it generally doesn't hurt, so she chalked up her pain to being her period or from working out. "I want people to take their health seriously and be confident enough in how to have these conversations with their doctor," she said. "I think that will potentially save their life versus waiting until they're 40 for their first ever mammogram."
