How big will the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 batteries be? New leaks might have revealed all

A new leak has revealed the possible battery models for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, which gives us a strong idea of the possible capacity of both phones.
A new set of leaked images from TheTechOutlook has seemingly revealed the UL Demko certifications, given by Denmark's national electronics certification body, following an earlier Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification, for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7's batteries.

Firstly, we have the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which comes with two Li-ion batteries, one for each haslf with the model numbers EB-BF966ABE and EB-BF967ABE according to the leaked image. The listing states that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will come with a combined capacity of 4,272 mAh, which is basically the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 6's rated total of 4,273 mAh. You may like

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 has batteries with the listed model numbers EB-BF766ABE and EB-BF767ABE. According to the report, these batteries come with a total capacity of 4,174 mAh, compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 6's combined total of 3,887 mAh.
Now, the eagle-eyed among you might have noticed that the numbers for the older devices don't match the marketed capacity numbers. The reason for this is that phone companies usually market the phone with the typical (average) capacity for the battery. Meanwhile, the safety ratings above are more concerned with the minimum possible capacity.

As such, we'd expect the Galaxy Z Fold 7 to be marketed with the same 4,400 mAh capacity as the past phone. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could go as high as 4,300 mAh compared to the 4,000 mAh of the current model.
Another report states that both of Samsung's new foldables will support 25W wireless charging, according to their listings in China's 3C certification database. While this is great news, it also appears that both phones will still be limited to 25W wired charging, the same as previous Galaxy Z models, but lacking compared to the 45W seen on other Samsung models like the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

While this news has offered a bit more information on what we can expect, we won't know anything for certain until we have a chance to test the phones ourselves. But we shouldn't have long to wait, as we expect Samsung to unveil the next generation of foldable phones at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked, which is assumed to be happening in July. Apple's upcoming WWDC 2025 showcase is going to be a busy one, even though the expected AI-powered software rebirth may not land until next year. In the meantime, reliable sources have spilled the beans on what we might expect for the next major iOS overhaul. Starting with the name, Apple could skip iOS 19 and could go straight from v18 to v26. We are also expecting a design overhaul, something that could draw inspiration from Vision OS. Recommended Videos Now, a 9to5Mac report that cites a reliable source claims that the iOS 26 update could bring some notable changes to Apple's in-house apps. What follows is a quick overview of those murmurs, but take them with the proverbial pinch of salt: Translation in Messages My Messages app is a mix of texts in English, Hindi, Urdu, and the occasional Arabic messages. I am fluent in these languages, but I often run into scenarios where the other person requests an assist with the translation, or both sides seek a back-and-forth with Google Translate. In iOS 26, Apple could assist with the language conundrum. As per the latest leak, the Messages app is getting 'automatic translation of both incoming and outgoing messages' with the upcoming update. It's a lovely convenience, but Apple won't be the first to offer this facility. As part of the Galaxy AI package, Samsung phones have offered a two-way live translate feature that also works with voice calls. Aside from the pre-installed Samsung Messages, it works its magic in WhatsApp and the Google Messages app, as well. On other Android phones, you can highlight the text in any app and use Google Translate. It's not seamless, but at least you don't have to switch apps to see the translated version of the text. It's quite encouraging to see Apple bringing down the language barriers natively within the Messages app. A full-view lock screen makeover Lock screen is a secret functional powerhouse in itself, thanks to widgets and shortcuts. And with the recent customization upgrades in iOS, it has turned into a charming practical playground of its own. iOS 26 could take things to the next level. As per 9to5Mac, Apple is experimenting with animated album art that will cover the entire lock screen. Right now, the album artwork tints the whole lock screen and places a large static cover art in the middle. It looks pretty, but it's not alive. In iOS 16, Apple could add some dynamic flair to the album art on your iPhone's lock screen. We're not sure whether Apple will let users adjust the effects, or even use some AI magic to make their unique styles, but if concept artwork is anything to go by, the leaked change could be a visual treat. iOS 26 is expected to bring full-screen animated album artwork to the Lock Screen. Porting those Apple Intelligence chops and letting users play with live album effects on the lock screen sounds quite appealing. Polls, at last It's pretty wild that iMessage, one of the most widely used chat platforms in the world (and especially in Apple's home market), doesn't offer a poll feature. Third-party communication apps such as Telegram and WhatsApp have offered the polling convenience for years. While the arrival of polls sounds like a small feature update, AI could make it a lot more fun, thanks to Apple Intelligence. 'One possibility is that Messages could automatically suggest the poll structure based on the context of the conversation,' says the 9to5Mac report. Apple Intelligence is already tightly integrated with ChatGPT, so it should be a fairly straightforward exercise to push an AI-powered polls feature in Messages. ChatGPT excels at format conversion, so all Apple needs to do is integrate it within Messages just the way it has built Writing Tools at the system level. I can't wait to create a few fun polls, where debates about who-eats-what on a road trip are turned into polls with a playful language. And while at it, why not give them a fun voice makeover? I'd love to hear one in the voice of Ben Stiller with some loud applause for casting each vote. Notes finally hears the power users I recently played around with a Mac scratchpad called Antinote, which took such a minimalist route to note-taking while turning formatting and conversions into text-based commands. It's a lovely app that fills some crucial gaps in Apple's Notes app. With the arrival of iOS 26 (and hopefully, macOS 26, too), Apple will reportedly fix at least one of the biggest functional holes by enabling Markdown support. Multiple third-party apps have offered the perk for years, and it's pretty surprising to see Apple hasn't paid attention to it yet. If you're used to command-based formatting or HTML-derived tools, Markdown support will come as a huge sigh of relief. For an average user, it may not be a revolutionary addition, but for enthusiasts, it's a pretty big upgrade for their workflow. CarPlay will feel like your phone So far, we've heard rumors of a design overhaul covering Apple's mobile, computing, and wearable software platforms. According to 9to5Mac, CarPlay will also get an aesthetic lift so that iPhone users feel at home with its UI in their vehicles. We're not sure how deep the design refresh goes, but expect to see a focus on translucent theming effects, updated iconography, and floating UI items. Apple began working on a CarPlay overhaul under the 'Project IronHeart' codename and unveiled a new flavor called CarPlay Ultra merely a few weeks ago. The Ultra makeover, however, is exclusive to Aston Martin cars at the moment. All eyes may be on the just announced Galaxy Z Fold Ultra, but don't forget about the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. We just got a bunch of leaks related to these two foldables centering around their possible release dates, specs and color options. Just days ago, rumors pointed at Samsung keeping the prices for its foldable phones unchanged — while today's leak indicates that the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 could launch on July 10. This date is what reliable leaker Ice Universe has shared, but there's debate around it because of time zone differences between South Korea and the east of the U.S. Regardless, this date lines up to the timeframe that a report mentioned back in late April. Additionally, other leaks give us more detail around the Galaxy Z Fold 7's storage and color options. While it's shocking to fathom a foldable phone packing 8GB of RAM, this could be one of the trade offs to get its price down to meet Samsung's target. Samsung's coming off the launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge and following up after Motorola's release of its Razr 2025 models, so a launch in July for its foldable phones would be enough time to get people excited about these new devices. Samsung silently outs the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 names
Samsung has teased us with what appears to be an upcoming 'Ultra' version of its next foldable phone, but it appears the South Korean firm has inadvertently also confirmed the names for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. While the press release itself doesn't name either device, Samsung has included a teasing GIF image which shows us the silhouette of a foldable device – presumably the 'Ultra' handset described in the copy. Recommended Videos Again, this image doesn't drop any names visually… but I did spot the file name for the image holds information which, up until now, has not been announced by the firm. Samsung has named the image 'Galaxy-Z-Fold7-Z-Flip7-Pre-tease-Bartype_1920x1080.gif'. As you can see in the image below, the file name in the URL bar not only name drops the Galaxy Z Fold 7, but interesting also the Z Flip 7. It's unclear why the latter would also be included in a file name of an image which clearly shows a fold device and not a flip – but it's also curious the names were included in this way at all. Surprising reveal, unsurprising names Considering the Z Fold naming convention can be traced all the way back to the Galaxy Z Fold 2 from 2020, it's hardly a surprise that Samsung's foldable updates for 2025 will continue the numerical increments we've seen over the years (unless Samsung pulls a major iOS 19 to iOS 26 rebranding project on us). The Galaxy Z Fold Z and Z Flip 7 names were very much expected to be used when the next generation handsets are announced later this year – possibly as soon as next month. What is surprising however, is the manner of the initial name drop. Is this a minor slip-up in the image-naming department, or a niche Easter egg Samsung put into the world to see if it would be spotted? What we really want to know is whether the teased 'Ultra' handset will be an additional handset alongside the Fold 7 and Flip 7, giving us a trio of new foldables, or if the Fold will just see Ultra added to its name from now on. There may not be long to wait, if reports of a July launch are accurate.
