Infosys co-founder

If formalised, this will mark the second time the government has sought Nilekani's expertise to shape reforms in the power domain.

The proposed task force will operate under the Ministry of Power and be funded through the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). A key goal of the initiative is to bring down generation, transmission, and distribution costs by up to 25%, an official said.
In March, Nilekani had hinted at the transformation ahead for the energy sector, posting on X: "Energy is the next UPI! Millions of small producers will participate in the Digital Energy Grid (DEG)".
Earlier in February, the Foundation for Interoperability in Digital Economy (FIDE) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) released a whitepaper on the Digital Energy Grid. Nilekani co-authored the foreword of this report, which outlined a vision of decentralised energy production and trading, reported ET.
The FIDE-IEA report proposed a future where households equipped with solar panels or EV batteries could generate, store, and trade energy, not just consume it.
"In this world, millions of everyday citizens become active participants in the energy economy, transacting not just with the grid, but directly with each other over a shared digital mesh," a statement from FIDE explained.
A pilot for the DEG is expected to launch soon in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It will be based on the Unified Energy Interface (UEI), a digital framework similar to the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), and aims to cut manual intervention in the power sector, potentially lowering costs for end consumers.

Narayana Murthy claims ChatGPT helps him write 5 times faster: 'Used to take 25-30 hours'

Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy has revealed that he uses the artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT to quickly draft speeches that used to take him over 25 hours to write. Murthy said that he now uses OpenAI's ChatGPT-4 to help him prepare drafts for lectures and speeches for his public appearances, adding that the technology has significantly cut down his writing time. 'Earlier, I used to take about 25-30 hours to prepare a lecture, because I take these things very seriously. There must be a theme, a sub-theme; they must be interrelated. At the end, there must be a strong message, all of that," he told Moneycontrol. The 78-year-old tech titan said that his son, Rohan Murty, introduced him to ChatGPT and asked him to use it to write his drafts. 'In a matter of five hours, I could improve the draft. In other words, I improved my own productivity by as much as five times,' he said. The Infosys founder has advocated for the use of AI in the past, calling it an augmentative tool rather than a replacement for skilled labour. Murthy has said that generative AI can help accelerate tasks like coding and reduce errors. Overall, he believes it will help turnaround times while boosting productivity in the tech industry. 'The smartness is in defining the requirement well. That's what my son told me, unless you ask the right question, you won't get the right output. What will happen in the future is that our programmers and analysts will become smarter and smarter in defining better and better requirements, more complex requirements. They will solve bigger problems, more complex problems,' he said. Murthy compared the rise of AI to the use of computers in the banking sector during the 1970s. He said that the machines were initially seen as competition to humans and opposed by unions. However, the same machines helped increase productivity and helped employees go home by 5 PM every day, to spend more time with their families, he said.

MobiKwik's share price dips over 9 pc, slips below IPO price

Mumbai: Shares of One MobiKwik Systems Limited, the parent company of digital payments platform MobiKwik, fell sharply on Wednesday, dropping over 9 per cent to trade below its IPO issue price, following the expiry of the mandatory six-month lock-in period for pre-IPO shareholders. The stock slipped 9.34 per cent or Rs 25.15 to close the trading session at Rs 244.25 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). MobiKwik had made a strong market debut late last year, listing at a 58 per cent premium over its issue price of Rs 279. However, the stock has since seen a steep fall and has now erased nearly 64 per cent of its value from its post-listing high of Rs 698. Meanwhile, in the March quarter (Q4) of FY25, MobiKwik's net loss widened significantly to Rs 56 crore, compared to just Rs 0.6 crore in the same quarter previous fiscal (Q4 FY24). On a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis, its revenue from operations dipped slightly to Rs 267.7 crore from Rs 269.4 crore. The company also reported an EBITDA loss of Rs 56.5 crore, which was higher than the Rs 47.6 crore loss in the previous quarter. Despite the losses, the company highlighted strong growth in its payments business. Its Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) surged 203 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 1,15,900 crore. For the full fiscal year 2024-25, MobiKwik reported a total loss of Rs 121.5 crore, reversing from a profit of Rs 14 crore in FY24. However, its revenue grew 33.7 per cent to Rs 1,170.1 crore, which the company credited to robust growth in its payments segment. By the end of FY25, MobiKwik had 176.4 million users, with 20.6 million new users added during the year. MobiKwik offers a variety of digital payment services including the MobiKwik Wallet, UPI, Pocket UPI and Zaakpay, its payment gateway platform.

Nithin Kamath Not Eligible For CRED? Kunal Shah Says He'll Call Him And ‘Fix It'

Last Updated: Nithin Kamath shared a screenshot of his credit score, stating that he is not good enough to become a CRED member. In what appears to be a playful jab at Kunal Shah-backed CRED, Zerodha's Nithin Kamath shared his credit score report on social media, explaining why he is not good enough for the payments platform. Sharing a screenshot of his credit score, which stands at 747 out of 900, meaning a 'good" result, Nithin wrote, 'I did a credit check on @zerodhacapital to check out the flow, and my score is 747. So I am not good enough for CRED, Kunal Shah." He also went on to offer his followers to check their own credit score, with the link redirecting users to Zerodha Capital's official page. Upon clicking on the link, one can find a link to check their credit rating for free. It's worth mentioning that a user needs to have a great score of 750 and above to become a CRED member. In response to Nithin Kamath's quick check and the special mention to Kunal Shah, the CRED founder ended up offering help to fix his ratings. I'll call you and help you fix it. Glad you're caring about scores and increasing awareness. More people need to do this 🙂— Kunal Shah (@kunalb11) June 18, 2025 'I'll call you and help you fix it. Glad you're caring about scores and increasing awareness. More people need to do this:)," Shah wrote in response to Nithin's X post. The post received a barrage of comments, with people sharing different opinions on Nithin's take on credit scores. One said, 'I suppose this is Experian's score. CRED might be evaluated on the basis of CIBIL (Not Sure)," another added, 'Why do you need CRED when you've already earned all the street cred as a bootstrapped hero? BTW, top-tier humour!" A user quipped, 'Jokes are better late evening, Nithin avare." On the other hand, some sounded concerned that Nithin Kamath had a lower credit score than many individuals. The entrepreneurs' brief online interaction comes at a time when Nithin Kamath recently spoke about the latest UPI feature introduced by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Highlighting the growing number of fraud cases involving scammers, he emphasised that all the legitimate fund transfers will properly go to verified UPI handles. The Zerodha co-founder also assured users of implementing the same in his company to help reduce fraud incidents. The number of fraud cases involving scammers impersonating brokers and asking for money to be transferred to random accounts has protect investors, SEBI has introduced a new UPI security feature. All legitimate fund transfers will now only go to verified UPI… — Nithin Kamath (@Nithin0dha) June 16, 2025 The market regulator will be introducing a new UPI address for all entities to avoid such scams, with the latest features set to go in effect from October 1.
