Aamir Khan is all set to captivate audiences with his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par. Directed by R.S. Prasanna, the film is slated for a theatrical release on June 20. But here's a twist – when Aamir started working on this project, the advice he received was quite different. In a candid revelation, Bollywood's 'Mr. Perfectionist' shared that he was asked to do an action film instead. Why do you think that was? As Aamir puts it, 'Action ka daur hai."
In a candid conversation with Zoom, Aamir Khan opened up about his unconventional approach to filmmaking, revealing that Sitaare Zameen Par isn't the first project where he's gone against the grain of current industry trends. 'When Ghajini was about to release, there were back-to-back flop action films. Action ka daur nikal chuka tha. Everyone said action doesn't work these days. And when action films weren't working, my action movie was about to come," he said.
The 60-year-old actor further revealed, 'Even today, action ka daur hai, and everyone wants action films to be made. When I started working on Sitaare Zameen Par, people advised me that I should do an action film. Lekin jis cheez mein pe mera dil aa jaata hai, main phir wohi kar sakta hoon, mujhe aur kuch hota nahi hai."
Furthermore, Aamir Khan confessed that he does get anxious about audience expectations, wondering if they would embrace his family-oriented film when the trend is clearly leaning towards action-packed blockbusters. However, he revealed that this pre-release anxiety has been nothing new and it's a pattern he has been following with every film. Despite these doubts, Aamir expressed gratitude for his loyal audience, who have consistently supported him throughout his career.

Aamir said that he has refused big money in the endorsement space and shared, 'I have refused alcohol and tobacco. Recently, I did Dream 11 so people asked me that you are doing Dream 11, you refused alcohol, tobacco. But the script for Dream 11 was so good. I couldn't say no to it. I laughed so much after I read that ad. I was certain that I wanted to do it. As for the product, if it is illegal then ban it, then we won't make any ads on it.
