Palatine Park announces summer concert lineup
FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — Palatine Park in Fairmont announced the dates and performers for its 2025 summer concert series.
On Wednesday, the park announced the full series, which opens with the Three Rivers Festival on Memorial Day Weekend. All of the concerts hosted by Palatine Park in this series are free to attend.
Friday, May 23 (Three Rivers Festival): Get Poison'd – Tribute to Poison (headliner) and opener TBA 7 p.m.
Saturday, May 24 (Three Rivers Festival): The Ultimate Doors – Tribute to The Doors (headliner) with opener TBA at 7 p.m.
Saturday, June 7: Weary Space Wanderer (opener) Bennie And The Jets – Elton John Tribute (headliner) at 7 p.m.
Saturday, June 14: Eyes of the Nile – Iron Maiden Tribute (opener) and The Four Horsemen – A Celebration of Metallica (headliner) at 7 p.m.
Saturday, June 28: Yam Yam (opener) Moon Hooch (headliner) at 7 p.m.
Saturday, July 5 (Independence Day Celebration): Byron 'Six Six' Cooper, Motorcycle Drive-By and Liquid A at 6 p.m.
Saturday, July 12 (Johnnie Johnson Festival): The Deep Fried Five (headliner), The Up And Up (middle band) and Flight Six-Six (opener) at 6 p.m.
Saturday, July 26: Bluffett – Tribute to Jimmy Buffett (only band) 7 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 9: Invincible The Premier Pat Benatar Tribute (opener) and Adrenalize The Ultimate Def Leppard Experience (headliner) 7 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 23: Dre Day An all ages Celebration of The Legendary Dr. Dre 7 p.m.

Harrison County Parks & Recreation releases Summer Day Camp schedule for kids
CLARKSBURG, (WBOY) — Harrison County Parks & Recreation (HCPR) has officially released the schedule for its 2025 Summer Day Camp Program. You can find the schedule below: 'The Great Outdoors' (June 23-27): highlights include 'creepy crawlies,' lifetime sports, and nature art 'Arts Week' (June 30-July 3): highlights include 4th of July events, music, rock-dropping games, as well as t-shirt art 'Science Week' (July 7-11): highlights include dinosaurs, elephant toothpaste, and rocket launching 'Celebration Week' (July 14-18): highlights include bounce houses, cotton candy, and crazy socks 'We wanna give them an opportunity to get out from on the couch,' HCPR Director Mike Book said. 'Get [from] behind the video games and come outside and enjoy that.' Following the first four weeks, additional day camp weeks will be held throughout different community parks in Harrison County. All of these day camps will be held on weekdays only, lasting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Day Camp Schedule for additional locations: Good Hope Park (July 21-25) Spelter Park (July 28-Aug. 1) Wallace Park (Aug. 4-8) Summit Park (Aug. 11-15) 'What we wanna do is we need to get the kids back outside,' Book added. 'We need to get them active and vital with their stuff. They get a chance to be outdoors, be with nature. We'll have nature activities going on and all that.' Bruceton Brandonville VFD now has swift water rescue team Book told 12 News that throughout the different day camps, instructors will be focusing on catering to the kids' interests, while also trying to get them involved in new stuff. 'Never know, we might find a new interest for them,' he added. 'Maybe they'll start a new hobby–collecting rocks, or whatever amounts to their enjoyment.' According to Book, this summer program gives children a chance to be outside and make new friends with their peers during the summertime. 'The social part of it can't be overlooked at all,' he stated. 'It's important for these kids to be out and about.' The 2025 Summer Day Camp Program is accepting registrations all the way up until the program starts. However, Book stated that they must have enough registrations; otherwise, the dates and locations of these sessions will be subject to change. Lunch will be provided daily, and each program will wrap up the week with a family night celebration. 'We'll probably be reaching a lot of kids that this will be the highlight of their summer,' said Book. 'At least that's what we want it to be. You know, everybody can't go to Disney or wherever they might go to, but this'll be a place they'll go.' Book told 12 News that he's been putting on the summer program with HCPR for nearly 40 years now, and he knows adults who still remember their times on the park equipment fondly. The summer camps are open for registration for children between the ages of six and twelve. The program will launch at the HCPR Complex in Clarksburg and run from June 23-July 18, with each week following a different theme. Book added that this is a completely free program, adding that interested parents can sign their children up by visiting the HCPR office, registering online or calling in to Harrison County Parks & Recreation for more information. MGK Searches for the ‘American Dream' in New Album Trailer Seemingly Narrated by Bob Dylan
MGK's next album will be a tribute to Americana, and it seems that he tapped one of the subculture's biggest heroes, Bob Dylan, to narrate the project's trailer. In a clip previewing the August-slated LP posted Tuesday (June 10), a voice sounding very familiar to Dylan's can be heard reading a description of the rapper-turned-rocker's Lost Americana, calling it 'a personal excavation of the American dream.' Billboard has reached out to Dylan's reps for comment. Arriving Aug. 8, Lost Americana will mark MGK's seventh studio album, following 2022's Billboard 200-topper Mainstream Sellout. Leading up to its release, the artist born Colson Baker has dropped singles 'Your Name Forever' and 'Cliche,' which followed his 2024 collaborations with Jelly Roll, 'Lonely Road' and 'Time of Day.' And while a collaboration with the famously elusive Dylan might seem random, the Lost Americana trailer wouldn't be the first time he and MGK's worlds have collided (assuming that it really is the legend's voice in the narration). In February, Dylan left fans confused when, without explanation, he posted an old video of the 'I Think I'm Okay' artist rapping in a Florida music store in 2016 on Instagram. Whether that was Dylan's way of declaring that he's a fan of MGK or just a random moment, the younger musician was amused by the post. 'you having a phone is so rad,' MGK commented at the time. Watch: Babyface, Jennifer Hudson honor Jamie Foxx at BET Awards
June 10 (UPI) -- Babyface, Jennifer Hudson and other music artists honored actor and singer Jamie Foxx during the BET Awards Monday. The Office alum Craig Robinson took to the piano to introduce the various performers paying tribute to Foxx. "Tonight, we celebrate a man who starred in his own TV show and sang the theme song 'Simple things are all you need,'" Robinson said. "As the kids say, it was a bop. We wanted to celebrate you tonight, and to kick things off, ladies and gentlemen, his mother named him Kenneth, but the world knows him as Babyface." Babyface was joined by Ludacris on the stage for a cover of Foxx's "Unpredictable," while Tank and Jennifer Hudson performed "Night and Day." Doug E. Fresh, Teddy Riley and T-Pain teamed up on "Blame It." Foxx, 57, was among the Ultimate Icon Award recipients at the BET Awards. That award commemorates "decades of groundbreaking contributions to music, entertainment, advocacy and community impact," a press release states. "I cannot even begin to express the love that I feel from everybody out there," Foxx said during his acceptance speech. "I don't know why I went through what I went through, but I know my second chance I'm not going to turn down," he said, referring to his 2023 medical scare. "I'm not going to turn down.
