Sund Fin hosts Customer Round Table in Salem

Salem, July 19 (UNI) In a rare and heartfelt gathering that transcended conventional industry events, Sundaram Finance hosted a special Customer Round Table here today,
The event brought together a select group of its most longstanding customers — along with the next generation of their families — for an evening of reflection, learning, and emotional connection.
Curated with care, this one-of-its-kind initiative was not about business pitches or product showcases. It was about people. About relationships built over decades — some even generations — rooted in mutual respect, shared values, and a deeply personal sense of trust.
The Round Table served as an intimate platform to welcome the next generation of customer families into the Sundaram fold, helping them understand not just financial fundamentals, but the spirit of partnership that defines the Sundaram experience.
The session was inaugurated by Mr. Kulkarni M J, National Head, Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles – Sundaram Finance, who set the tone for the event by reflecting on the company's legacy of walking alongside its customers through changing times.
He emphasized that Sundaram's real strength lies not in numbers, but in the depth of its relationships — relationships that are nurtured quietly, consistently, and with sincerity.
'We are here not just to do business, but to stand by our customers — to understand, to guide, and above all, to care. This event is a celebration of the unquestionable loyalty between Sundaram Finance and our customers — a bond that cannot be bought, only built over time with care and integrity", a company release said.
In an industry where interactions are often transactional, this kind of event is virtually unheard of. What made it even more powerful was its resonance with the company's core — Sundaram was
born out of the desire to serve the underserved, to offer dignity in finance to those often overlooked.
Many of the families present at the Round Table began their journey with Sundaram decades ago as first-generation entrepreneurs. Today, they have grown in stature, as has Sundaram. This growth has not been accidental — it has been a shared journey, powered by trust, fairness, and a quiet determination to do things the right way.

ADB sanctions Rs 975.26 cr loan for enhancing industrial infrastructure

Agartala, July 23 (UNI) The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has sanctioned a loan of Rs 975.26 Cr to Tripura for enhancing industrial infrastructure across nine industrial estates of the state, which is expected to attract investment. Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) Chairman Nabadal Banik said that the ADB funds will be spent to build new industrial sheds, power substations, underground electric lines, fire service stations, and 34 roads across industrial estates, besides renovation and upgradation of existing infrastructure. 'The industrial estates were built long ago, but have not been able to attract many manufacturing units. Now, all of them have become obsolete and not feasible for modern industrial units. Keeping the present requirements in mind, we have decided to upgrade them with all the latest facilities; so that investors can take interest and avail our attractive incentive packages,' Banik said. Under the new project, world-class infrastructure will be developed in the existing estates. The state government has also allocated land for two new industrial hubs – 127 acres at Shantirbazar in South Tripura and 28 acres at Fatikroy in Unakoti district, Banik stated. In a move to make better use of idle assets, TIDC has reclaimed 28 acres from 24 inactive industrial units. The reclaimed land will be repurposed to accommodate emerging entrepreneurs looking to invest in the state. A new initiative to boost Tripura's plywood industry in the state, adding to two existing plywood units, and seven more are in the process of coming up, he said, adding that with around 10,000 hectares of senile rubber plantations available for use, the state is focusing on rubber wood-based plywood production. Shah to unveil National Cooperative Policy 2025 July 24

New Delhi, July 22 (UNI) Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperative Amit Shah will announce the National Cooperative Policy 2025 here on Thursday. The new cooperative policy will prove to be a milestone in the cooperative movement of India for the next two decades from 2025-45, an official statement said here today. The new cooperative policy 2025 aims to revive and modernise the cooperative sector as well as realise the vision of prosperity through cooperation by creating a roadmap at the grassroots level. In 2002, the country's first National Cooperative Policy was issued, which gave a basic framework for better management of the economic activities of cooperative institutions. In the last 20 years, many major changes have taken place in the society, country and the world due to globalization and technological advancement. Keeping these changes in mind, it became necessary to formulate a new policy, so that cooperative institutions can be made more active and useful in the current economic scenario and the role of the cooperative sector can be strengthened in achieving the goal of "Viksit Bharat 2047". The objective of the National Cooperative Policy is to make cooperative institutions inclusive, manage them professionally, prepare them for the future and be able to create large-scale employment and livelihood opportunities especially in rural India. A 48-member national-level committee headed by former Union Minister Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu has prepared the new National Cooperative Policy. This committee included members from national and state cooperative federations, cooperative societies of all levels and sectors, representatives of the concerned Central and State Government Ministry/Department and academicians. To ensure a participatory and inclusive approach, the Committee held 17 meetings and four regional workshops in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Gurugram and Patna. 648 valuable suggestions received from stakeholders were carefully evaluated and incorporated in the new cooperative policy.
